Horrible 4/5/2008

I have gone to all three Dolce locations and they are all the same - HORRIBLE! I used to go to the Chandler location, but since it is so crowded, I tried the other 2 locations.The staff is very rude, the services are way overpriced for what you get. They want you to think that their staff is highly trained, but they are all fresh out of beauty school for the most part. Furthermore, each service is an additional price, for example, if you receive color, you have to pay extra for a toner or extra bowls of color. It is nearly impossibly to walk out of Dolce without spending $250. After spending $250 for a haircut and color, you are then presented with a box full of products that you are pressured into buying. I will never go to Dolce ever again, I don't recommend anyone spend a dime at this place. Pros: convenient locations Cons: parking, service, prices more

Don't waste your time 3/10/2008

I had been going to Dolce for 5 years and, watching its steady decline, finally dumped the place. A real shame to see them resting on their laurels and letting the place slide into oblivion. I will say this: they always made my hair look awesome. However, I must echo all the ""cons"" posted by others: Checking in, paying, and scheduling appointments is a nighmare, the shampoo girls are rude and incompetent, the place is noisy, hectic, and stressful. And the last manicure/pedicure I got there not only sucked, but the nail tech's personality made Rain Main seem socially adept. Will I be going back? Hell no. Awesome all around! 1/21/2008

Don't know how old some of these reviews are, but I don't hear about people not loveing Dolce. They now have 3 locations and each is amazing, have you seen them? I feel they truly deliver from atmosphere to service it's all great. I think people are more apt. to write about a bad experience than a good anyways, and who's to say these are real? I know dolce has a lot of haters out there that are actually other salon and spa's, being sort of in the industry I hear it all the time. It's super hard to get hired at Dolce so that says something about who does, maybe some of these people did not?\r See for yourself is what I say. They wouldn't be ""Dolce"" if the wern't doing something right, even the haters seem to acknowledge that theres something about dolce that people think is great and also that they have a great rep, how? if not earned. Pros: design/atmosphere, professionalism, reputation Cons: they are really busy and do need a credit card to make a reservation, if you care. more

Fun Date Night!!! 12/3/2007

I wanted to do something different than dinner and a movie on Friday Night so me and my bf got the Dolce Date Night Package....it had a couples massage, spa pedicures and then we had dinner and dessert (it was provided from P.F. Changs -yum :) The front desk was super nice when we checked in and took us to the spa and gave us warm neckwraps ... OMG they were awesome!!! The couples massage room was huge and the therapists there are amazing (and i've gotten a few massages in my day and they literally rocked) I would highly recommend Dolce, they are Fabulous ... And I don't think checkout was bad at all .... Customer service at checkout is a nightmare! 11/29/2007

I am the last person to complain about someone or something....but I have been to Dolce twice and had the same bad experience at checkout, twice, and I am finally DONE with their salon!!! They treat you like a number and not a person. I believe in giving everyone a second chance. My first visit to Dolce I had a bad experience at checkout and I let it go. I did not complain or tell anyone with their company about my experience. I simply went back recently to give them a second chance. My most recent visit had the exact same thing happen at checkout with a different person that the first time I visited. I was sooooo upset that I called Dolce corporate office after my bad experience today. They were very understanding and sorry about my experience. They offered me compensation to come back and see them again. I told them that no amount of compensation will get me to step foot in their salon again. The front desk staff was insulting and rude and treated me like a ticket and not a person. I was shocked that the same thing happened to me with two different associates at checkout months apart!!! What are they teaching these people???? I like my hair, but in a nutshell, they have no customer service skills at the front desk!!! I am not a number or a ticket....I am a human. more

Bad attitude and service 11/29/2007

I had gone here for years and always loved it, but the past couple of years the service has been BAD. Once they got my appointment time wrong and penalized me for being ""late"" and were very haughty about it, though I was 100% sure it was THEIR mistake. Another time they accused me of stealing someone's purse then finally caught their own mistake. Their attitude has consistently been condescending and rude the past few times I've gone there. The past several times the stylist I've requested has started my color but then hands me off to someone else who is clearly an apprentice, and I never see my stylist again. In addition, they gave me the wrong hair color the last time I went--I requested the same color I'd gotten the last time, and they gave me the hair color they'd given me before that--never caught their own mistake. For the prices they charge, the service and attitude are not remotely up to par. I won't go back. Pros: Convenient location Cons: Expensive, condescending, inconsistent service more

This place rocks!! Friendly, thorough and efficient staff, personal attention, relaxing vibe - go, go, go, right now!! 4/2/2007

First off, this was my first time at a place like this, and I must say, it rocked the house!! My day consisted of the ""new you"" package. I checked in, was brought some water, and filled out paperwork. After that, I was taken to my locker and changed into spa attire and went to the ""relaxation room"", gladly accepted another glass of water, watched the glass fountain walls of cascading water, listened to relaxing music until my masseuse came to get me. Masseuse was friendly, and I felt completely at ease with her. The 1/2 hour Swedish massage was fabulous. Although next time I will probably get a more intensive massage. After that, back to the R.R. Next, the facial - completely AMAZING!! Very involved, detailed, thorough. My face was washed, steamed, exfoliated, masked, and moisturized to perfection. As if that wasn't enough, it involved massage of the scalp, face, neck, shoulder, arms and hands. WOW!!! It also involved a skin evaluation. Back to the R.R., and then to lunch. Very yummy!! After lunch, back to the R.R. and off for my mani/pedi. Loved the pedi - very thorough and pampering. Mani/pedicurist was friendly, did a pretty good job (although she was very young and was new, I would have liked someone a little more experienced!). Back to the RR and off to get my new 'do - got what I wanted - stylist was friendly and listened to my wishes. At the end, I was pleasantly surprised that I felt no pressure to buy anything. Everyone was extremely friendly, gracious and thorough and gave very personal service and attention. I never felt out of place or rushed and felt like I was the only client there. The whole day (over 5 hours) went completely smooth with zero problems or mix ups. This is an efficiently run, organized establishment with professional employees and a dizzying array of services. I recommend this to anyone and everyone needing any kind of beauty treatment. Don't be dissuaded by the negative reviews! Horrible haircuts that aren't AT LEAST even - it looks like 2 different heads of hair! 3/19/2007

I've put in way too much time at Dolce. It is outrageously expensive for what you get. The stylists have no more skill than someone at a place like Supercuts (no offense to Supercuts). A place like Supercuts doesn't charge those prices and you don't go in expecting to be placed w/ an uber skilled stylist. What the heck are these stylists trained on? I leave there feeling like, ""uh, hmmmmm, what is this?"" The comments I get from people range from, ""hmmmm, do YOU like it?"" to ""Oh, my gosh, it's not even the same length!!!! They should pay YOU to have done that to your hair!"" I used to leave the high end salons I went to in other states I lived in and look and, maybe more importantly, FEEL amazing! Here, i feel like I have to run home and 'fix' my hair, before I could possibly go out, or schedule ANOTHER return trip to get the mess fixed....and by fixed I mean still horrible, but maybe even in length?! Avoid paying twice!!!! 2/16/2007

I come to visit my folks twice a year. While Im here I get pampered to the salon of my choice. I choose Dolce Salon&Spa EVERY TIME ( about 5 time now). The first few times were alright, I walk out of the salon with a way overpriced ticket and not much to be excited about. The last few times have been horrible to the point I take my buisness to another salon and pay their prices for the same services. The first few times I shruged it off as maybe I was not clear with what exactally I wanted; however this time I took a picture. I wanted a longer bob with platinum colored heavy highlights and walk out a dark brunette and very layered very thined out bob. Nothing like what I wanted. I even specifically asked for a very experienced girl knowing I would pay very high prices but would be worth it in the long run.. I was very very wrong. I would not suggest this salon to anyone. After suggesting to the girl I wanted more highlights they offered for me to return to the same girl (on a different day -as she was over booked to begin with) and to pay half the price for the service. I declined - and again I will rebook with another salon. Pros: Nice looking salon Cons: Over priced, They dont listen to what you really want. more

AMAZING SERVICE! 2/12/2007

You never know what you are going to get when you go to a new salon. Everyone was young, hip and most importantly professional. That is not always a combination that you can find in salons. \r After leaving there for a hair service I was pleased to know they offered so many other services (knowing I could book a perdi, eyebrow wax, massage, all under one roof was great!)\r Their product line is diverse as well from Organics to super hold fashion/ styling products.\r I would definitely recommend this spa/ salon to anyone as their SERVICE is great and they have something for EVERYONE....including men! It is a Spa so yes it is large, yet their operations are so efficient you never feel neglected. Some salons where the staff is not professionally trained or they are short handed, service lacks. You can definitely tell Dolce CARES about the EXPERIENCE you have and the quality of service.\r more

THE ABSOLUTE WORST, RUDEST SALON EVER!!!! 1/31/2007

I had a terrible experince with a bad haircut 3 weeks ago . Whats even worse than the bad cut was the (lack of) customer service afterwards. The so called manager basically told me my bad cut was not their problem. It was only after I made a HUGE stink about it that they offered somewhat of a solution. The only solution was to cut it super short! I paid $75 for a bad cut and rude service afterwards. \r I received a giftcard for a masage for Christmas so I decided I would get the massage and be done witrh them for good. When I arrived (25 minutes early To fill out paperwork) I was offered a warm neck wrap that was never brought to me, I was offered a beverage that was also not brough to me. My appointment was scheduled for 1:30. I was patiently waiting when finally I grabbed one of the girls @1:43 Out front and told her I had other places to be and that I expected to be finished by 2:30, she advised she would find a ""professional"" to come and talk to me, while she stated this, finally he (David) came in and brought me to the room. I explained to him that his tardindess was not appreciated and that I expected to start @ 1:30 as scheduled. He didnt even so much as offer an apology he just got uncomfortably quiet. He left the room and returned at 1:55 and started a few minutes later. Good customer service or even an apolgy would have corrected this problem. To add insult to injury, he finished the massage at 2:40! He then had the audacity to charge me for a full hour. When I was at the front desk paying with my gift card and credit card, she asked me if ID like to leave gratuity. although I didnt feel he deserved it, I said yes and instructed her to add $10 onto the bill. I recalled my husband telling me gratuity was already paid so I called the salon to verify and the woman on the phone advised that I indeed left gratuity twice. Why didnt the woman handling the transaction advise that gratuity was already added into the gift card?\r Pros: Pretty interior. Cons: Lousy service, incompetent staff, very rude. more

Avoid this ripoff salon!!! 12/21/2006

I went to get my haircut and highlights at this salon and they messed up my hair big time!!! I called Dolce and they offered to have another stylist (or even offered the same one!!!) to fix my hair. I asked how long the stylist had color experience (since my hair's color was awful with dark streaks and looked grayish to me) and they didn't know. I decided then I had to go somewhere else to get it fixed that I trusted (Leidan Mitchell in Phoenix is wonderful). Now that I did this they would not refund my money. They said that I should have gone to them to have it fixed. They even had the audacity to say to me that it was fixable so I should have gone back to them to fix it!!! I don't see how I spent $150 to have my hair so messed up in the first place that they would think their customers would return to them and trust them to have it fixed!!! They are pushy with products and horrible with service and I will never be back. I had to pay the same price to get my hair fixed. It's pretty sad that I got charged $150 for a hairdo that cost another $150 to fix. RIDICULOUS!!!! This place is horrible!!! Bad business ethics and horrible hair stylists!!! Do not recommend 12/19/2006

I haven't been to Dolce in a long time and just went there this weekend. I had a horrible experience. The hairdresser totally messed up my hair. I got a cut and highlights. The highlights are awful and I have never had my hair this messed up. I asked for a refund to take my business back to another salon in Scottsdale that I love to hopefully get it fixed and they said they do not do this. Now I have to go back and see if I can get it fixed which I am really nervous about. I asked how long the colorist (that I am going to try to have fix my hair) has been doing color etc. and the girl on the phone could not give me that information. I just spent $200 and had two gift cards from friends and 2 complementary gift cards from Dolce. The fine print states they can only take 1 complementary gift card at a time. Well when I got back home I realized they didn't take ANY of the complementary gift cards. So now I have a hairdo I hate and gift cards that I want to put in the shredder. Dolce has been better in the past. I am disgusted with their refund policy and them. I hate to tell them, but bad word of mouth gets you nowhere quick.... Great customer service and a great place to go! 11/2/2006

This is my favorite place to go, from getting a hair cut to having a relexing day at the spa. From the moment you walk in you are treated like royalt! I live 3 hours away and I'll take the trip just to go here! For my sister's wedding we come here before the wedding and they were on time and treated us all great and even when my sister didn't like exactly how her hair turn out at first they went back and fix it until she was happy. It is kind of uncomfortable that they do ask for your credit card number when you make your appointment and charge you if you cancel within 24 hours but in my opinion why would anyone ever cancel an appiontment at such a great place. Pros: The atmosphere and staff is wonderful! Cons: Parking is sometimes hard to find on the weekends. more

AVOID THIS SALON!!!!!!!!! 10/24/2006

I called to make an appointment and you won't believe what the receptionist asked for.... a credit card. When I asked why- she said that they ask for it in case you cancel without a 24 hour notice. They will charge your credit card 100%!!! Can you believe this!!! I've been to some high scale salons from Beverly Hills to Scottsdale and never have I been asked for my credit card for their database. I then asked her what if the stylist doesn't come in do they give us our money back(100%)....Well she was speechless...and said no. This place will not get my money and I just want to warn everyone who goes to their Chandler store - don't even think of not giving a 24 hr. notice if something comes up at the last minute (emergency) because you will be charged!!!!! Cons: Want credit card on file in case they need to charge you for a no show more

One of the best facials I've had 8/7/2006

I just got a facial today and loved it. Jamie K took care of me and afterward I was so relaxed it took me a while to get back to the front desk. I don't think the place is overpriced at all. I work in the spa industry and think they have great products, and once you get into the spa area, it is very quiet and relaxing. After reading the revies for Dolce, I was kind of worried about going there, but now this is the only salon/spa I will go to from now on. I don't know why people are giving Dolce bad reviews. I had an awesome experience there! Marcella is a godsend for anyone that currenty suffers or has suffered from acne. The Dolce acne facial does wonders. And their products are great! Everyone is really friendly, and they are always offering to get water or something to make you more comfortable. The place is beautiful and calming. Bad Value 5/10/2006

This place has the worst stylists. They do not listen to haow you want to have your hair cut. They end up doing what ever they want. I wanted blond highlights and came out with orange highlights. I wanted a trim and ended up with short lop-sided hair. The worst part of it is I saw 3 different stylists and none of them could correct my hair to have simple highlights. more
