I agree completely with ""momluvbrian"" there are 5 or 6 workers and the manager Ms Cando. If you can get past the ""account collectors"" that work for her and get right to Ms.Cando you will get respect, courtesy, fairness and most importantly RESULTS. The assistant managers Pat and LaVern are ""chips off the Cando block"" also. \r \r Skip the ""B team"" - AMANDA = whiney, small minded, rude. LORI = Loud, rude, smart mouth, rude, MEAN (did forget rude?) WILLIAM = weasel, nasty, likes to be mean, rude.\r \r If they call and are not nice ask to talk to the manager Karen Cando. Or call her receptionist 431-9942. \r She is honest and will work with you in person or on the phone - IF YOU work with her. I started off yelling @#$%$# at her because of Lori. Ended up calling her back - twice to tell her I was sorry for ME BEING RUDE. She didnt take it easy on me, I had to explain all of what was going on. When she was done I knew exactly what was expected, what the ""rules"" were and several options (none of the options included the ""R"" word). \r \r I totally pegged Karen wrong in the beginning. When I was yelling and swearing she wouldnt have any of it and told me so. What she said made sense and definately WORKED OUT FOR ME! I signed up for the NEW FLEXIBLE PAY auto payment she started in 2009 and it has been great! No more calls because I am late. My landlord told me I should either marry her or have her adopt me, LOL. OMG!!!!! The $UCK AT PICKING UP THE PHONE!! 8/26/2009

Why dont they ever pick up the phone?? I have been calling got 3 hours trying to pay my car paymant. the last time I called they told me that they didnt take CC payments anymore and that I had to use a check....So I went and seeked high and low for a check...(really who has checks??) so I couldnt find one, so I call back 50 times and no one picks up.......call back and hour later still no one. Then I call back again and the attandant transfers me to the acct mngr and I get her voicemail... By this time Im like WTF!!! OMG where are you guys?? So I call back still know one is home....then finally I get someone....I tell her I cant find my checks but here is my acct number and R#, and a check number....she is like NO, I need and real check. it has to be right in fromt of you...So Im like what dfnc do it make I mean its not like im putting it in your hands. why cant I just give you the info...she just wouldnt take it. Now I have never been late, I pay on time every month, you dont take my normal payment witch is CC payments b/c you cant afford to pay the fee, so now you cant take my checking info....wow. You want me to money gram it.... I dont think so. I mean I gave up, I still havent paid it yet I m just going to have to waste my gas and drop it off at there office. I ducked the phone calls from hrfc for months i just didnt have the money and i had made arrangements and just couldnt keep them so i was shame so i just sat and waited for them to come get my car.well i got a call from a mr. william masden his voice sounded like he would understand so i got up the nerve to call back when i spoke with him he made me sorry i had called he talked so nasty to me i was in tears and i wanted to hang up but something told me to hold on i dont know what made him do it but he put mrs. karen cando on the phone and she was like a angel she was so caring and understanding she was not nasty or tried to make you feel bad it was like she put herself in my place after talking to her i felt as though a weigh was lifted off of me she helped me keep my car she treated me like a human being unlike mr. masden who had no feelings. Even though its her job to help us im still trying to think of something to do for her to let her no how much she helped me. And to Mr. Masden you never no when you will be in a situation like your customers so you need to take lessons from mrs. cando and learn how to treat customers you are the reason people are scared to call but thanks to me having faith in the lord and staying on the phone he let mrs. cando come in Pros: It helps to have patience Cons: don't let a nasty respresentive discourage you more

Ok here it is. I just found out today on the phone that i could of been having a split payment, after paying a year and a half on my car. There has been so many times that would call and ask them if there are any other options for me to lower my payments and all the kept on saying was ""NO"". I talked to traci who was very kind and easy to talk to. The main reason I'm ANGRY is for them not notifying me either around when i was getting ready to start my payments or at least no more than a few months after. I will admit the people that i've dealt with and talked to were very nice and never yelled at me or anything of it. But, i'm still ANGRY and hoping that i can hopefully get some sort of my money credited back to me or towards another car payment. PLEASE COMMENT BACK AND TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK. I read the headlines and some of the ""reviews"" and if i had believed the @#$% in them I would have been scared to answer my phone. The facts are I just finished paying for my car with this company. 4 years! My wife and I have seen people come and go, had good service (and some bad) but one constant was their manager Karen. We struggled in our time on this loan. My wifes illness kept her from working so we lost her car. My truck was critical, HRFC could have taken it like the credit union had done. That might have happened if not for the effort of Miss Karen. She went way out the way to get in touch and when she did she not only listened she understood. In a day we wnent from the repo guy knocking on the door to being able to park at home again! Yes we had to pay the payments, but she worked the process to keep us from getting put out. Itwas rough some of the so called account managers along the way were hard to deal with. Lucky they arent in charge!\r Karen God Bless you and thank you! my husband and i have been the hampton roads finance for 3 years we have paid over 12,000 dollars for our hyndi elantra which was a ripe off but it was our first car togeather so we new that the interest rate would be high, we are now down to 1,500 dolloars but we were having a little touble with our payment \r in dec.so we asked for a little extra time to make decembers payment. and was treated so bad by the lady handling our acct. she accused me and my husband of lying about why we couldn't make the payment\r and told me even thow we have paid over 12,000 on our car and we down to the last 3 payments they will come and get my car if i couldn't pay them.this was the 1st time we had ever been late. these people have no heart THEY are rude and custmer service means nothing to them. we paid off the car with our taxes and we are in the market to buy another car this week. i thought by us being faithful to them, we would go back threw them again for our next car,but they are one company that i will never enter into my life ever again and i will put the word out not to deal with HAMPTON ROADS FINANCE OR ANY HALL DEALERSHIPS BECAUSE THEY ARE ALL THE SAME. Surprized that they can stay in business. My ex had 2 cars repod then he totalled mine with DUI. Hall got him a loan even with an suspended license & no job- sales guy used my pay stub! Talk to superviser Karen - collecters won't listen 12/3/2008

I was lay off when I got Mersa in my knee and had to miss work. I had to move to my parents and had just bought my truck. no money, no way to pay so I lay low until working again. they called and left messages I had nothing to give after borring a 1/2 payment no one had anything to help. The guy kept saying I had to give it back and acted like I didnt pay on purpose. When I called back and asked for the superviser I got Karen Candle. When I said I didnt want no trouble and would bring back my truck she asked me questions and actually listen to my problem. Instead of making me feel stupid she stopped the repo and fixed up my payments for catching up over may paydays. She gave me a number right to her and figured out how to split up payments to to come out of my check automaticly so my rent gets paid on time. She called to check on me and took extra time to explain what was going on. She doesnt take no stuff but she knows how to help i would call her more

Worst Company I have ever dealt with 10/22/2008

I purchased a car from Hall a year ago have never been 30 days late and I am paying Lexus prices for a Ford. I had no idea that this company was a part of Hall until when you call the number that they call you from goes straight back to Hall. I don't recommend this company to anyone, Frankly you be better off going to a pay here company then allow these sharks finance a bicycle for you. My payment is late on the 21st of month and today is the 22nd and i received a call stating that i need to contact them right away. This is a Vulture Company and trust me aft I pay off my car it will not be Hall that I purchase another car from again. Avoid like the plague 10/13/2008

After missing my September payment due to illness, I began receiving daily calls from HRF telling me that I was late and that they intended to come and get the vehicle. I am more than willing to make a double payment to get caught up, but was told that if they did not have the payment by 10/15/08 that she would have no choice in how the auditors would choose to handle my account. I was also told that I broke the law by moving to another state and not notifying them the day after I moved. I was told that I defaulted on my loan by moving the vehicle across state lines without written permission from them. I am just hoping that they will accept my double payment and not come to take the vehicle. I will never recommend that anyone else finances a vehicle from these idiots. While trying to talk to customer service to set up a payment, I was told that being in the hospital does not excuse me from making payments and is not an excuse that they will accept. Pros: They will help you get into a car if no one else will finance you. Cons: Customer service is very rude and will not work with you to help you get back on track. more

Dont get me wrong, when I went to purchase my car this summer Hall Mitsubishi was very friendly. I have has my car for 3 months and after the first month I went to go and get my oil changed because when I checked it, it didnt have any in there. Hall Acura changed my oil but also told me I needed a new caliber on one side and some new back breaks. My suggestion to anyone to purchase a car from them get your car fully checked out because they will get you. Pros: They will help you get a car. Cons: You dont know if you are going to pay from something not running a month later. more

NASTY CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS 9/22/2008

THIS PARTICULAR SO CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE REP WAS SO NASTY. I TOLD HER THAT I JUST STARTED A SECOND JOB AND THAT I WAS GOING TO PAY HER THE PAYMENT. SHE CALLED ME EVERYDAY TO SEE IF I WAS GOING TO PAY. LEFT NASTY MESSAGES ON MACHINE. LEFT MESSAGES ON MOTHERS MACHINE. HOW RUDE. IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS CALL ME NOT MY MOTHERS HOUSE. Reading over this review by other customers, I learned that Hampton Roads finance company isn't even a seperate company than Hall. That is very misleading to think that they don't do in house financing when in away they actually do. I wrote this to Hall after my experience with them. I was mislead to think they were a seperate company as well. \r \r I had a very bad experience with Hall Pontiac and Hummer and will never buy a car from them again. You don't try to get over on people inorder to get commission. I would like to think people are humane enough to make judgement calls, even when it calls for going over your call of duty as a company. I bought my car back two days after driving off the lot and was told ""the way I see it this car is yours"", by the financial manager. I was told I had a contract on several occassions and was told I didn't on others. It was up until the seventh day that I was told this information. This was after bringing the car back in two days. The financial managers job is to make sure you can afford what you are buying and give you the best options without being objective. I learned that this is not particularly so at Hall. \r \r The car was certified, as they stated, but the rotors and the breaks on the car were bad. After driving the car around it was racing, like the transmission had problems. The windows rolled up when it felt like rolling up. I drove off of the lot with a cerified rejection sticker. I am a single mother and needed a car, but shouldn't have gone over my head. That is why so many people fall in debt, but after the sale it isn't anyones problem, but yours. While doing business with them it was like they had never loaned anyone money before. They had NO IDEA what they were doing. As of today we are a week into working with them and they still can't figure out how to set up an allotment. Management always, and I mean ALWAYS are out to lunch. they are never in the office. We now have the dealership yelling at us because they haven't received their money. we are yelling at them because Hampton Road Finance doesn't know what the hell they are doing. DO NOT use these people if you can help it. Pros: They will give you loan if you can't get one elsewhere Cons: You have to hold their hand the entire way. This is my first review. I first wanted to say that the people at Hall were very friendly and helpful. Helped me get into the car that I wanted. However...the finance company that they have....which from going to the location its actually Hall as well...they just are the finance company division of Hall. They are one and the same. Any how...came into some hardship, and needed to make arrangements. The staff at Hampton roads finance are rude, very rude. Also wanted to know what the reason was that you couldnt pay...I mean really getting downright nosey. I thought he was going to ask me what color undies I had on because he was really getting downright personal!! I know that once I pay this vehicle off I will NOT deal with Hampton roads finance any further. Because after missing one payment...they are the only company I have ever dealt with that would issue a repossesion as well as get nasty with you on the phone. If those persons over at Hampton Roads finance that I dealt with read this...they know that it is them that I am speaking of. Pros: Worked with me when I did not have stellar credit to get me into a late model vehicle. Cons: Bad attitudes, not helpful nor understanding. Great Customer Svcs. Bad Management Team -AFTERMATH AFFECT- SCARY 9/4/2006

I have been a customer of HRF for two years. My experience with their sales team was awesome and very friendly. As well as there customer service dept at their main location I found the young ladies both to be very nice and friendly. \r \r As fas as upper management for example: I found one lady and one male to be extremely Rude. You could tell that they needed people skills. One of my first question to them was this company primarly work with High Credit Risk customers. Threrefore when you give a customer another chance why are you so short tempered with these customer. I rate Hall Automotive on a scale 1-10 a 10 ( Upper Management one or two people make it bad for the rest 2. Customer Service people on the phone and front desk help desk a 10. I had a bad experience in working with these two individual but I won't say that HALL itself is bad just their selection of Collection Representative and Management. Would I buy from them again Not Sure... Not if I have to work with Collectors with NO PEOPLE SKILLS or answer to solve a problem for the customer and the company they work for. Geting the Car is the best part of buying from this company and working with the Rude Collection Dept is the worst. Which Make this Company not the best company to do business with. Extremely poor customer service 8/25/2006

Recently I legally changed my name. Although I have submitted all court documents pertinent to the name change. This company consistenlty refuses to use my legal name. Payments made are still under the 'old name.' Creating a difficulty in establishing credit in my new name. The customer service personnel are petty and vindictive, to the point of also refusing to change the date of payment. I do not recommend this company to anyone at anytime. Customer service is crucial in the finance business and these folks treat you as if you have been privileged to use their service. The attitude should most certainly be opposite. A good company can only stand on its good name via customer service. As this company does not know the meaning of the word, I certainly will refuse any future dealings with this company. And would strongly caution anyone considering use of this company. Pros: Willing to finance people in a tight situation Cons: Extremely snobbish and consistently offers very poor customer service more
