See Daniel! 4/2/2007

Daniel has been my stylist since 2001 when I moved to philly. He was referred by a friend, and I've since referred him to other friends, my sister-in-law, and my mother! I am continually complimented on my haircut and highlights. He's always professional and greets me with a smile. I can truly relax when I sit in his chair because I know that I will be well taken care of and will leave looking beautiful. \r \r The staff at Toppers is also amazing and extremely friendly. If you're looking for an incredible stylist, make an appointment with Daniel at Toppers. Pros: Service more

Best hair stylist by far in the City of Philadelphia - 3/31/2007

When I first went to Daniel at Topper's Spa, my hair was parched and in terrible condition. Daniel, or as I refer to him many times as Dr. Daniel, assessed the damage and discussed with me what he'd like to do to bring my hair ""back to life."" It has been about 6 months or so since I've been with Daniel...and his wonderful assistant Leanna. My hair has never looked better, Daniel always spends great time with me, asking me about my hair, if I am satisfied, what can we do different. He is patient, funny, and most of all, a very talented artist. He encompasses the whole person when he cuts your hair. He wants you to look your best alway! I am always welcomed with a warm smile and genuine greeting!\r \r Daniel is the best by far, hands down in the City. Thank you Daniel and Leanna! more

Not Tops at Topper's 3/28/2007

Since I never recieved an acknowledgement to my email to Topper's regaring my ""experience"", I decided to make my comments public. I had the Luxury massage at the Newtown location on 3/23/07. Of all the comments I could post, the one that should stand out the most is the massuese wore rubber gloves to massage my feet...or should I say poke her finger into the arch of my foot!! I could not wait to get out of there!!!\r \r I have been fortunate enough to travel the country and have been to many spas. NEVER in my life have I had a worse experience. Were my feet dirty? I would have gladly shwered prior to the massage to make the massuese more comfortable - but - wait a minute - who is the customer? \r \r No hand, head/scalp or face massage. Twenty minute short of the two hours I was quoted. What a joke!!\r The receptionist assured me of an ""amazing"" experience upon my arrival. She was right but for all the wrong reasons.\r Hvahart1 Pros: Local Cons: Noisy - could hear conversations in adjacent treatment rooms. No water at the end. more

Do not under any circumstances go to Daniel... 3/13/2007

I called Toppers looking for a great stylist and Daniel came highly recommended. This turned out to be the worst haircut I have ever had...overpriced without the looks to show for it. It looks like a cheap haircut something I could have gotten at Walmart (not to be offensive, but I paid to have detailed attention paid to my hair) and it certainly will not grow out well. He was extremely snooty and he doesn't have the competency of one displaying such snobbery. His primary tool to cut my hair was thinning shears. As it turns out the right side of my hair is much thinner and shorter than the left side - resembling a mullet. He completely ignored my request to have subtle layers which will grow out well...anyone looking at my hair can see distinct layers and gaps in my hair. My hair once very full now looks wiry at the bottom. He didn't even take the time to do final touch ups at the end - like all hairstylists do. He did offer to cut my hair again, seeing how dissatisfied I was with it. BUT after an experience like that who would be stupid enough to trust him to do it a second time. \r \r Overall...my advice to anyone, if you value your hair and looks, not to go with Daniel. more

got burned by wax 1/1/2007

I scheduled a bikini wax right before a vacation in July. The The aesthician left the wax lying there for what seemed like a long time. My skin was red for two weeks. I thought I just had very sensitive skin, eventhough this never happened before with a wax. I've since had waxes at other places with no problems. I wasn't going to post this because the person who did the wax was super friendly .but noticed another person had a similar experience with getting burned. For 50 bucks for a wax, I'll take my business elsewhere. more
