Curtis Total Service

We have used Curtis Total Service several times now, and have had absolutely no problems whatsoever with them. The last time they were here, it was to fix a toilet in the downstairs bathroom. Their workers are always clean, and they show up when they are scheduled to show up. They are polite and courteous, and always seem to do a professional job. As I said before, I have never had any problems whatsoever with Curtis Total Service, because they do quality work. One thing that really impresses me about them, is how their workers always take the time to fully explain to me what it is that they need to do. That is something I really appreciate! Our company has used Curtis Total Service several times in the past. Their service was satisfactory, and the latest tech guy who came out was very nice and polite. Particularly once he realized I was the one who had to approve his bill. Anyway, they showed up on time, and they fixed the problem, so we really don't have any problems with that aspect of the company. On that part, they are very professional. But, we are probably not going to call on them again in the future because of their $90 service fee. They charge you $90 to just come out and look at the problem, whether they fix anything or not. I don't like that. Other companies come out and give you an estimate, and do not charge you for the privilege of calling them. I am not saying we will never use Curtis Total Service again, but because of that service fee, we are certainly going to limit our calls to them. I have been with Curtis for over 10 years and have been completely satisfied with all of their services. As a Gold Card member, their inspection team is thorough and competent; they never make unnecessary recommendations. They have replaced my HVAC system, my water heater, and my smoke alarms as my home has aged. Their technicians are always professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. Their work is exemplary. Whenever I have called the office, the response I get from Carol or anyone I talk to, is always helpful and timely. Their customer service is above and beyond; they are the simply the best! When I have had plumbing and heating emergencies they have always been there immediately to fix my problem. I recently sold my home and my realtor told me that the buyer was impressed by the work done by Curtis and by reviewing my records of all the inspections and checks done over the years. My homes sold in less than two weeks and I that Curtis for playing a part in keeping my home in such great condition. I am moving out of the area and will miss the wonderful service and the people at Curtis. Thanks again for everything you have done for me over the past 10 years. more

The only complaint I have is that they charge you a fee to use a credit card and do not tell you until you sign the bill! In this day, charging to use a card is just in poor business in my opinion. I had recommended Curtis to my friend who called me to find out after they finished if I was charged for a service agreement,Not realizing it at the time I told him that I was not told about this.Checked my bill and saw that I was charged for a service agreement and was not asked if I wanted it.Can't believe how deceptive their practice of adding this agreement without aking the customer .Feel duped! Good work, but cost $450 for 45 mins simple work and tech also added $49 service agreement without discussing. Charge$89 just to visit and credit nothing back after giving them the work. Diagnosed my Heating system paid $89.00. Gave me long list of parts motor, board etc. estimated cost $1900.00. Called Gerhinger, in Boyertown, Fixed my system for $195.00 including diagnosis, parts and labor. My wife and I met with Matt who sold us on replacing the HVAC units for our home (2 outdoor + 2 indoor). The entire job was a comedy of errors due to lack of communication between the Curtis office & its workers. I returned from a business trip upset to see the sloppy work left in the basement. For example, they didn't replace the insulation and in fact left sizeable pieces of it on the floor & on holiday wreaths we keep downstairs. Now 2 weeks later (on 11/13/18) I received a call from the Curtis office saying they do not have a record of the Serial #'s which are needed for warranty. Not once did Matt follow-up with a visit (either during or after the installation) to ensure his team did quality work. Never again will we make this mistake! We had also met with a salesman from Jack Lehr HVAC and wish we would have had them do the install instead. Hindsight is 100%. While Jason and Scott were polite and knowledgeable technicians, I could not get an explanation for the high cost. $1500.00, to replace a bathroom ceiling fan. The ductwork was already in place. While the techs were polite, when I asked about the cost, I was told "I just put it into the computer and I get the price". I have to say that I feel completely ripped off. I told this to my neighbors as I took down the sign on the lawn. I also told a buddy in Nazareth and another in Fountain Hill to avoid "Curtis", like the plague. RESPONSE FROM Curtis Total Service: This customer had a "Handyman" install his original fan. Unfortunately to install his new fan correctly, it required the electrical wires in the attic to be fixed, electrical boxes were overloaded with wires, drywall needed to be modified to accept the new fan etc. At Curtis Total Service, we perform excellent service with the best warranties in the industry. When I purchased the heat pump nothing was said about a surge protector, now, 3 years later we talk surge protector. Also, the filter on the attic unit, it was best to purchase the rewashable piece. No, now the throw aways are better. Is this all about money? I am very happy with your service. It is just ironic that my last visit cost me $0, now I need things that were never mentioned before costing big bucks—$730.00. That included the UV light bulb which I knew was going to be replaced. Just needed to voice my concern. more
