I have used Curtis Total Service for my plumbing, electrical and heating needs with good results for the last four years. When I decided to remodel part of my master bathroom, I again went with Curtis. Because of the size of my bathroom and because the tub and shower sat side-by-side, they were both small, especially the tub. I wanted to replace them with a large spa-type shower and a linen closet. I was concerned about three things for this job. First, I was remodeling just half of the bathroom so it was important that the new part didn’t make the age of the old part obvious. Second, I wanted a lot of water options in the shower but I’m on a well so water pressure was a concern with the existing plumbing and hot water heater. Lastly, I wanted to be able to know, within reason, what to expect during the process. I know there are things you can’t know until you open a wall or remove a tub, but having done several remodeling jobs before, there’s usually at least one “you couldn’t have told me this before?” moment. The crew at Curtis and I had several conversations before the job started to make sure we were on the same page. I was told every morning what they were going to do, and if I got home before they left, what they had done that day. If there was a question, or if one of the crew thought I said one thing and another thought I said something else, they would contact me by text or call and we’d get it right. If I had a question, they always took my calls. Rich spent a lot of time talking to vendors to come up with a system and fixtures that would give me hot water at good pressure from the shower head and body jets without changing out my water heater or adding equipment to boost the water pressure. John came up with a great window option to replace the one that had to go. By the time the painting was done everything blended into a lovely bathroom that I doubt anyone could tell has an old and new side. Most importantly, there were no surprises along the way. No “what?” moment. I’ve experienced some really bad remodeling jobs that ended up costing me twice as much when they fell apart after a couple of years. My experience with Curtis has great – we communicated well with each other, they gave me ideas I hadn’t thought of, and they always found ways to deliver what I wanted. I feel that everyone from the office staff to the work crew wanted me to be happy with the work and I am – structurally and aesthetically. I needed service on a water softener and water treatment system that was installed by Curtis 3 years ago. The woman who answered the phone was courteous and helpful. The technician was on time, answered questions and got the job done promptly. more

A disappointed former customer 10/28/2016

The service people who have come to our home have been outstanding - courteous and knowledgeable. The ladies who answer the phones are very nice and helpful. The operations manager is condescending and rude. We have been customers of Curtis for more than a decade; every time they recommended an upgrade or a new piece of equipment, we followed their advice. They are experts at the upsell. They recommended replacement of our sink (15 years old, builders grade) and faucet. We went where they suggested and had them install it. Less than a year and a half after installation, the hose let loose from the valve and water everywhere for several hours. Curtis did respond to the call immediately, but then I had to deal with the Operations Manager, who quickly informed me that it wasn't their fault and the warranty had expired so we were out of luck. Too bad for us. We had planned to have them redo our upstairs bathroom this fall, but not anymore. RESPONSE FROM Curtis Total Service: I am sorry this happend to your home. The faucet water line that came loose had been installed for over a year. Unfortunately like i mentioned our insurance company will have to handle the claim if your insurance company feels it is our fault. We did send a tech out right away to repair the faucet, and help out as much as he can. It looks like a faulty supply line at this point. If there is anything else we can do please give us a call. Rapid emergency service 10/24/2016

Late on a Saturday night, Jason arrived and solved a major plumbing blockage which had caused backups through half the house. We were more than pleased with his quick and fffctive service. We had had him here before for some smaller problem. Definitely recommend. more

upcoming service 10/21/2016

I heard from Jacob @Curtis yesterday. He said that if we had our furnace serviced by Curtis that there would be no charge for the repair we need . Our furnace has already been serviced, part of our home heating oil contract. I was told without the service the cost would be $329, on top of the $89 we already paid for Curtis to review our problem. Less than 3 years ago had our waste water and water supply lines replaced, as well as a new hot water heater and a water softener installed. We spent a lot of money on Curtis for all this work to be done, and now since the waste water line job was obviously done incorrectly Curtis is going to charge us to fix what they didn't do right the first time? I'd like to give Curtis a favorable review regarding getting this problem resolved. We should not be charged to fix a problem Curtis created. Please review this complaint and get back to me at your earliest convenience. RESPONSE FROM Curtis Total Service: After speaking to Jacob regarding your issue, it seems like a faulty fitting. This should not have happened we agree. At this point we sent a tech out and made the repair at no cost, this type of glue joint should have never came apart. leak needs to be fixed 10/19/2016

Jacob, a Curtis tech was here 48 hours ago to inspect a leak we have in a waste water pipe that was installed by Curtis less than 3 years ago. He was pleasant and professional, but I haven't heard back yet regarding when we can expect our problem to be fixed. more

refused to acknowlege a coupon for a free service call 9/23/2016

Can to repair my washer (it was leaking). Found out it was the washer house. Did not have one in the truck to repair. They left. I called the company back indicating that I forgot to give them a coupon for a free service visit. When I spoke woith the manger he said they only accept coupons if work is done. I told him they did not have the supplies with them to do the work. He said "if I am going to nickel and dime them over an $89 service charge they do not want me as a customer." Are you kidding. NEVER EVER use this group. He was rude and totally disrespectful over the phone. If they will not honor a coupon what would happen if I used them to re-model my kitchen and things went wrong? more
