Unique Air Services

I had this company install a complete new unit and air handler in July of 2013. I have purchased the gold plan ever since. First the service calls are a joke. The last time unit was working perfectly until they came to service it. Then kept kicking out for plugged drain line which I ended up cleaning out myself. Next blow stops working on Sunday. Call them and they are too busy to send someone out. Will schedule for Monday of course I don't hear back from them and call Monday morning to spend 20 minutes on hold for them to send someone out that afternoon. Of course the "discounted service fee of $80 to be told that the blower is shoot and they will need to order parts. Of course they'll call "like I believe that". So going on three days with no a/c. Don't waste your time buying the service agreement just like giving them free money . Also the quote to install discounted is $270, lucky the blower is covered under the manufacturers warranty. "Unique" isn't the word that comes to my mind when dealing with this company. Buy a home warranty in the end much cheaper and covers a great deal more. more

If your considering buying an AC system from Unique Air, think twice. I bought an AC System and a water heater from Unique Air and here's what happened? to me.. They quoted a price which was much higher than several other companies, more than $ 7,000 to replace my old A/C and water heater serving a small 2 bedroom apartment. They made me believe that they were a reputable company and I accepted to pay their asking price. They replaced the old unit with a new AC unit and the new AC unit was working worse than my old unit. It was noisy, I couldn't sleep at night and I was getting noise complaints from my neighbors. They then replaced this AC unit with another AC unit and the results were the same. They continued to send more and more technicians, manufacturers representatives, including a CEO from Unique Air, Mr. Dixon who didn't even want to admit that there was a problem. While all this was happening, the County inspector showed up and failed the second installation due to it being non-compliant. Unique Air then installed the third AC unit which is still as noise as the first and second AC unit, but we just gave up in dealing with Unique Air. Everyday I had to be at home between 8am and 4pm while all these technicians and experts came and went. Based on my experience, Unique Air turned out to be highest priced, the equipment they used was either used or of very poor quality, the workmanship was average at best and I will never use Unique Air. more

Blake reported to replace the UV bulb and eco- clean the unit. Sadly - the bulb was not the problem and a new uv system had to be ordered. Blake took the time to explain the issue it terms that I understood. Blake cleaned the unit and checked out stating that the company would call when the part arrives. Blake is a sharp Technician and it was a real pleasure talking with him. Thanks for the fantastic service and I hope he is always assigned to service my unit. more

Just had my AC installed by Chris today. He did an awesome job. Courteous. Answered my questions. Explained the logistics. CLEANED UP!!! Couldn't be happier. I look forward to a continued partnership with this company in the future. Thank you Unique! Replaced my 17 year old unit. Looking forward to the reductions in my electric bill too! more

The blower motor quit working overnight. I called Unique at 8:00 AM and a technician was at the house by 9:00 AM. Replaced the motor and had a cool house by noon. I would highly recommend signing up for their maintenance service. It will save you on repairs. The girls on the phone are very friendly. more

Paid a premium price($5000) for this unit because of the 12yr parts and labor warranty. Thinking of selling the residence and found out that the warranty in not transferable. This would have been an excellent selling point to a buyer. Could have purchased a competitor's unit for a lower price with a 5 yr warranty that would have been transferable. Don't buy the Diken unit unless you plan to live in your home for the next 12 years. Future service calls are not free either. Buyer Beware. more

Very pleased with the service. Our technician, Jay Hallmon, was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. He explained clearly and patiently what he was doing and what needed to be done. He took care to prevent potential problems with our AC units and did a thorough maintenance job. I will recommend and request his services in the future. more

The initial call to request emergency services was handled in a very friendly and efficient manner as was the follow up call. The technician, Jay was super nice and patient in explaining the problems found. All fixed and we are chillin' :-) more

We had a service contract with them an never had a problem with the technicians. Was always explained any work that needed to be done before it was done and we would have to OK the repairs. Our last service call we were told that there were no additional charges on the work being done and the freon that was needed was covered in our contract. The tech said we were all set and "have a good day". I then signed the pocket computer thinking I was all set with no additional charges. Then I get a bill in the mail for the freon, a service charge and additional work. Again I was never told of additional work (over and above my contract) and this company has the power to charge me what ever they want. I played phone tag with Jessica Copeman for weeks only to be told I signed for these charges so I owe it. I was told by neighbors and friends not to use this company but wanted to give them a try. Now I know what they were warning me about. DO USE THIS COMPANY!! more

Unique Air Services did an expensive project for my new home. They installed an ac unit, relocated the air handler and compressor, and did some new duct work. The package came with a 12 year parts and labor warranty included. Any issues I have had with the climate control have been resolved by a technician who will come out and fix it with perfect service. They have been very reliable and efficient so far. For the service and products I have received so far I am happy with what I paid. more

It's amazing how many companies get their family to write reviews about work that was actually never done by the people. You people and Air Masters of Tampa Bay, completely fabricated. more

I had originally purchased an ac unit from a different company over ten years ago. They had done the installation and maintenance,; and they also put up a child-proof fence around the unit to protect my kids when they were young. The last experience I had with that company, was that the technician refused to do the maintenance work because the fence had been in his way. There had been an issue with my unit so I called Unique Air to come instead. The technician who came to service my equipment noticed that there had been two different components placed inside the unit. There was one on the outside that wasn't compatible with the one on the inside. I had never known about this issue or the need for an inspection of my system until I used Unique Air. As the gentleman was doing the service and pointing out the issue that was causing the unit to leak- it blew. I had to replace the unit, and I hired Unique Air to do so. The salesman did the measurements , got the appropriate unit for the house, and made efficient use of the small space that I had available for it. I was able to finance the unit on a five year plan, with no interest. The efficiency of the new unit has caused my bill to decrease significantly enough that I can use the leftover money to make the payments for my ac. I am so impressed by their knowledge, and manner. I always recommend them when I get the chance. more

The technichian did not change the filter in my upstairs unit. He was there for one hour and didn't accomplish anything. I don't think he rinsed out the tubing from my inside line to the drain outside. more

Technicians from Unique Air Services installed a brand new air conditioner in my home. They arrived on time and were very professional in what they did. The warranty they offered was great and the price was competitive. After the work was complete, they came back and reinspected the unit on time. It has worked great since it was installed. more

Unique Air Services installed a new unit in my home. There were a couple of small hiccups during the installation, but they made sure to correct them. They went out of their way to make sure that I was satisfied. The technician explained the issues and worked efficiently. He was prompt to the appointments as well. Since he came back to fix the mistakes I have had no further issues with the unit. The prices were comparable. Overall it was a good experience. more

Deal with them at your own risk! The latest and final example: attic A/C unit flooded, soaked ceiling and caused ceiling cave-in. Unique technician responded, said it was a cracked inner pan and gave us a bill for almost $1000 tor labor and materials. The, we had two other professionals check the unit. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the pan! The problem: when Unique serviced the unit three months prior, they did not check/clean drain pipe. Zero problems or water since the honest diagnosis. And the worst problem: it's always impossible to get anyone in authority at Unique to speak to -- the owner is always "away". Still have not been shown the basic courtesy of a callback after reporting the above, despite their promises to do so. Obviously, they know they were caught this time and, by totally ignoring their dishonesty, they hope it will just go away, so they may go on to their next "victim". Yes, they truly are "unique"! more

Unique Air rescued us from a bad experience; provided a second opinion, the correct diagnosis, and excellent customer service. They respond no matter the hour, are upfront about costs, and stand behind their work! more
