Always comprehesive and wonderful 5/1/2008

I always get good care at Old Marple Vet. Care is comprehensive and good. The staff and doctors are honest and empathetic. The doctors are forthright about costs and let me make up my mind as to what to do...When I read these bad reviews, I feel totally miffed as if these folks are visiting another hospital. I highly recommend Old Marple Vet clinic. more

Not that good 5/1/2008

I have been taking my dogs to Old Marple for years. And there's no doubt the prices have doubled (especially for prescriptions) and the service is worse. The only reason I remain is my dog's really old and it's a little late in the game to change, so we just grin and bear it. But if you're looking for a Vet I would not recommend Old Marple, as most of the negative reviews are fairly accurate as I have experienced many of the same issues. more

Old Marple Vet Emergency 4/13/2008

On Saturday, March 29th, I had brought my cat to your emergency hospital. She had been attacked by one of my dogs, sustaining several bites, lacerations and damage to some internal organs. Adding to the stress,she had been in shock and was pregnant with three kittens. Despite her critical state and the uncertainty of whether she would need to be put down, the oxygen treatments, medicine, surgery, etc. at Old Marple Vet Hospital my pet came through her ordeal. This past Saturday, April 12, she became the mother of two beautiful kittens.The puss-n-boots female and the solid black male seem healthy and are doing well with mom.I would have lost a beloved pet and would not have been able to experience the joy of newborn kittens without with the excellent skills and knowledge of your practice. My thanks goes out to Old Marple Vet for their excellent service. more

If you love your pet, go somewhere else! 4/5/2008

The staff is disrespectful and down right rude. You can leave a message for a vet and 9x out of 10, the vet won't get it! They talk to customers, like they work for them! The only good thing about this vet is the facilities. The vets are also rude if you disagree with them. I've lost dogs there, due to irresponsible care. They charge too much and make you pay for things that aren't necessary. If you love your pet, your not going to deny it anything the vet says it needs. Last but not least, these vets promote puppy mills, by supporting pet shops that sell animals! They even recommend one in Media. If you love your pet, go somewhere else! They charge too much and make you pay for things that aren't necessary. If you love your pet, your not going to deny it anything the vet says it needs. Last, but not least, these vets promote puppy mills, by supporting pet shops that sell animals! They even recommend one in Media. If you love your pet, go somewhere else! Outstanding 3/30/2008

How many vets would call with routine lab work on a Saturday night after 8 pm? Probably a lot of medical doctors wouldn't do this for their human patients! Having a diabetic cat is a challenge and my cat's vet has been SUPERIOR with her care, concern and compassion. No question is unanswered, and every single time I have called or been in for an appointment I could not have been treated more professionally or personally. And it is this way with the 99% of the vets at Old Marple. The techs are great and though the front desk can be harried at times, they are always pleasant and very helpful. more

Excellent Veterinary Staff 3/14/2008

The front desk has never been anything but polite and attentive, but sometimes people fail to see how overwhelmed they are at times. The veterinary techs and assistants have always been more than helpful, gracious and knowledgeable and the doctors have treated my special needs pets more than adequately. Through many a hospitalization, never once did I fail to receive a phone call or 2 from the attending doctor updating their care. This is a huge practice with a full service hospital and ER and their pricing is fair. Having spent many a day,evening & overnight there I would not trust my animals to anyone else. more

Is there some sort of smear campaign going on??? I've been taking my dog Buddy to them since I adopted him in 2004. I have NEVER had a bad experience there. And the whiners complaining about the front desk staff, they have never been anything but helpful and NICE. Sure some of the Doctors are a little more personable than others but they are all very nice and good Vets. Overall Marple is a little expensive but I am very happy with the treatment Buddy has gotten.I've read some of these reviews and do NOT agree with them. I was recommeded to Marple in the first place and would recommend them to anyone who was interested. more

Open 24-7, fair, and professional 2/15/2008

I have brought both my dogs here for 6 years. They have always been helpful. They have walk-in service for emergencies. When either of my dogs has been ill, they have paid close attention to the symptoms and always diagnosed properly/accordingly/quickly. They always ask before doing anything to my dog, and tell me beforehand how much it will cost. The office is clean and staff friendly. Their kennel service does not feel as clean or happy, but my dogs rush excitedly to the door. When one of my dogs fell ill in their kennel, they immediately brought him up to the hospital for monitoring. I can't say that the employees are all animal lovers-they have quite a number of docs and a large staff- but that's necessary due to the many hours the doctors and staff must put in keeping a business open and running 24-7. more

You can't have everything 11/19/2007

I've been a client for almost 20 years, and yes, they have changed. Although the front desk staff has always been surley, the techs and doctors are good and efficient. I recently took in a stray that had had six kittens. I priced around for spaying and they came in at $150 vs $400-$500 ataa lot of other places. If you want a small, warm and fuzzy vet, you're going to pay a high price and they're not going to do emergencies. more
