Got the check engine light on my 2010 GTI, called University and brought it in for repair. Their service team found that problem and fixed it right away, but then when the mechanic was driving the repaired car, he diagnosed a shifting issue that I had not even noticed (one that would be expensive to fix).
This is where things did not go as they might have elsewhere - in a really good way. The mechanic flagged the issue, Maribel (my service advisor) alerted me to it, and they arranged to have it repaired as soon as possible - while it was still covered by my warranty! I wouldn't have known about it, and they could have waited until my car was out of warranty and then soaked me for the full cost of the repair, but they take the quality of their product and the professionalism of their service so seriously that they took the financial hit themselves in order to ensure a great driving experience for me. I couldn't be happier with the way my GTI drives now, nor could I be happier with the service team at University VW.
