Found this place through Groupon and the staff was wonderful and service was excellent. I will return. more

Came in for an oil change and tire rotation. Was told my brakes were unsafe and I was given MM measurements of what they were at. Was also told that my transmission fluid was extremely dark in color due to not doing my 60k service. After leaving Polar Bear I took my car to a mechanic in the family to look into the brakes and transmission further. The first thing he noticed was that although my tires were rotated, the air pressure had not been checked and needed to be refilled. Then, after removing the tires to inspect the brakes he was able to show me the original factory seals still on my brakes which means that the brakes were not inspected properly. Immediately he noticed that the front rotors were metal to metal, not at 1mm like I was told by Polar Bear. As for the transmission fluid, it was dark in color, however, not nearly as bad as Polar Bear made it seem. I was quoted $250 an axle for brakes at Polar Bear, and $189 for the transmission service, so a total of about $700 estimate. Far more than what I ended up paying to have all of my services done PLUS having the rotors reground and having him fix my tire pressure for me, as well. On the other side, the staff was friendly and I did get a good deal thanks to Groupon. more

I have developed a trust for Polar Bear because of the ability to talk openly and frankly with Kevin and Art. I got away from a Dealership because of a lack of communication from when I take my car in and when I pick it up. more

Even though everything didn't go without flaw - the owner demonstrates a very honest and conscientious approach to customers. I appreciated his directness. I didn't feel like I had to fight to get the right solution. Much appreciated. We've had brakes and transmission service done here. So far this is our Sacramento mechanic. I had a really good experience at Polar Bear. They were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They took the time to explain exactly what the issue were with my A/C system. I didn't feel like I was getting hustled at all, like you do at some other shops. They were very genuine and honest. more

I came out after five and my car wouldn't start. You got me a tow truck. The tow truck gave me an on-the-spot fix and got me on the road. Next day I took the car in for service. I really appreciate that my car was done in an hour like I was promised. There are many shops that could take a lesson from the guys at Polar Bear on this. Everyone I dealt with was pleasant. I would recommend them. more

If you are quoted for a complete new A/C system ie..$1,200.00 plus, take your vehicle to another shop and get a second opinion. I did! And my A/C system just needed a low pressure switch ie..$46.00 plus labor to replaced and check A/C system. I may not have a 2 year warranty on my switch, but then again, I am not compelled to spend over $1,200.00 to repair my vehicle right now. more

I had Just moved back to Sacramento from another state and needed a good mechanic. I was given a coupon for an oil change to try them out. I was pleasantly surprised by the service I recieved as I was informed that my vehicle and 02 accord did not actually need service at a particular time but needed it with in another 10,000 miles. The inspection revealed that I needed to have my tranny fluid replaced and the vehicle passed with flying colors. I called again to have a wheel alignment done and was given a recommendation for a near by shop as polar bear does not do alignments. However I was informed that it was a simple problem of a tire split and thats why I was experiencing the problem I had. I have used this repair shop three times and will go for my fourth visit tomorrow. I have been very pleased with Polar Bear since day one. Thank you Gentleman! more

I have a 1977 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ-40 with a 1994 Chevy engine. Needless to say, it's difficult finding a shop to work on it. Polar Bear is squared away. I'm confident they'll do an excellent job. Their customer service thus far has been exceptional. more

Following a referral for A/C work, I was thoroughly impressed with PBAC. Their friendly customer service was straight forward and reliable. Work quality was consistent with a small town shop, right up to the tidiness of the shop floor (a plus in my eyes). These guys make sure your vehicle is always in good condition by automatically doing a safety check every time they do anything on your car. I like that because it gives me a feeling of confidence that I'm less likely to be pulled over by the CHP for a light out or that my car will have a breakdown due to my maintenance neglect.
