Very professional and thorough in doing our A/C inspection 5/17/2011

It was an unpleasant experience and will not use them again. 5/13/2011

They push their services and costs too much. Every discussion with the tech involved doing something and its related cost. He didn't want to fix our unit, just replace it for a minimum of $9000. It has a minor problem that can be fixed for a few hundred dollars. I've checked that with other companies and one of them is coming out to fix it. They do it all the time. The JW tech wouldn't honor a $99 service coupon we had but did honor a 10 discount coupon for repair. He didn't make a repair but I guess he felt he better do something. Cost $300 for freon refill. That's excessive. He said that is their standard charge. He did remove the $200 charge for checking to see what was wrong with the unit. Actually, just to check for a freon leak. So is there another charge for checking the electrical system? Probably. I thought that was what the $29 service charge was for. Why are they charging additional money to check the system? That's the purpose of them coming out. To check the system. I will not use them again and will not recommend them to anyone. It was an unpleasant experience and I feel ripped off. more

Chris appears to know his stuff. After a thorough inspection, it was obvious that we were uneducated as to what our responsibilities were in the maintenance of our system. It was also obvious that the company who installed it were lazy and sloppy. We had a little 'sticker shock' when we heard some of the prices of the service packages however, we have 'sticker shock' when we purchase just about anything these days. We selected the 'Silver' package and may upgrade at a later date. We know Jon Wayne was the correct company for us because when Chris was finished, we felt assured that we wouldn't have any more problems with our A/C. Thanks JW. more

Excellent service 4/29/2011

I have been a loyal customer of County Wide Service Company for the past 15 years. I have rental property all over the San Antonio area and I have used them exclusively - until now. I had a situation at a rental property that was routine - I had an outside unit that needed to be replaced and County Wide refused to change just the outside unit - they insisted that I spend $7,000.00 on a new unit. I spent $200.00 with them to discover this so I looked for alternatives and thank goodness John Wayne came to the rescue. I filled out a service request on line and in a matter of 2 hours I received a call and a tech had scheduled an appointment with my renter. Melvin called me later and performed a second opinion for me free of charge and suggested that we change just the outside unit, to save money and gave me two different options - both of which were more than satisfactory. I filled out an application for credit on line and Clint in the business office walked my applicaton through and got it approved. He even met me, after hours, on his way home from work to get a contract signed that evening so that Melvin could install the unit that evening. Melvin called me at 4:30 pm and told me that he was enroute to the shop to pick up my outside unit and that he would have it installed that evening - staying late to get the unit up and running and making my renter very happy - which pleased me very much as well. Thank you again for the excellent customer service. I (and my other group of investors) have a new HVAC service company. more

Fixed troubled AC 4/24/2011

They were able to come out the next day and did a very good job. They diagnosed the problem and also checked for other potential issues. In fact, they found a potential fire hazard that the home builder failed to address. The cost was fair and reasonable for the services performed. more
