Everyone we met from the company was a pleasure to deal with; the repair serviceman, 406T17, who gave us the bad news about our washer, the knowledgeable salesman, Mathew Doman, who sold us a new one, the accommodating delivery scheduler, and the efficient installer with a great sense of humor, James, who now has a new story to add to his list of odd things manufacturers leave inside their products. more

Excellent experience 11/3/2014

Bought a new refrigerator on Saturday, it was delivered on Monday afternoon. The salesman answered all our questions, and wasn't pushy at all. The deliver guys were great, set everything up and answered questions I had about the refrigerator after it was installed. It was a excellent overall experience, and we're very happy with the new refrigerator. more

After learning part to repair stove not available went shopping at store. Pam was helpful, considerate of our needs, and suggested possible items that she thought we would appreciate. Delivery guys Mark and Gino most helpful, polite, and very efficient. Am excited to have a working oven! more

Knowledgeable and helpful service 11/1/2014

The sales person listened to the details of what we were looking for in a slide in stove and quickly found the information we needed. After placing an order she even mailed us a rebate coupon. The installer did a good job in spite of a challenging space configuration and made sure the basic instructions on use were given. We have purchased two other products from this provider and would recommend to anyone that they include them in their search for the appliance needed. more

Mark and Gino installed a dishwasher today. they showed up in the window of time with a call to me 15 minutes before they arrived. They did a quality install. They were both courteous, asked if i had any questions, and explained documents well. two good guys doing nice work. well done! more

Cable TV does a better job with appt times 10/23/2014

The service department gives a 4 hour window with a 1/2 hour call prior to arrival. Great if you are walking the dog or filling the gas tank - not great if you have real errands to run. Just spent another day waiting for a 12-4 appointment. It's after 4. No tech. Service department apologized - again. more

GE Right Height Front Load Washer & Dryer - Excellent 10/21/2014

We purchased this washer and dryer set on Saturday, October 18th and David did a fantastic job of answering any questions we had and was very helpful at the showroom. The set was delivered on Tuesday, October 21. First off, that is very fast delivery time and the delivery and installation technician, Mark, was very professional and efficient. We will definitely be back to Dick Van Dyke to purchase appliances in the future. Very professional and friendly employees all the way around. Thanks!! more

Our salesman Lyle was knowledgeable on the appliances that we viewed and answered all of our questions. Having a service background with appliances gave him a good insight into the reliability of the various brands as well as their features. The delivery and installation was performed by Mark. He too, knew the equipment, was very courteous, fast and neat with the installation. Overall, it was a good experience. If the appliances perform as well as Lyle and Mark, it will be a win-win situation. more

From Josh in sales in Decatur, to Jeremy and Gino in delivery and set up in Springfield everything went good. Josh knew and explained what we needed to know about our new electric convection range and new washer and was able to satisfactorily discuss finances with us. Jeremy and Gino deserve a raise. On the day of delivery{10/13/14} the weather was terrible. It was raining, windy, and a tornado touched down on the east side of Decatur while they were making a delivery in Oreana. Didn't slow those two down. After waiting out the storm they showed up for the delivery. Even with all the bad weather they installed our new things to my complete satisfaction. Did I say Gino and Jeremy deserve a rise? [I tried guys] Thanks to DVD Appliance World. more

Everything from our visit to the showroom to the installation of our new Speed Queen dryer was great. Jeff (in Champaign) was very knowledgeable and helpful and scheduled our installation for the very next day. I'm not expecting any problems but it's nice to know if any arise there's someone local who can help us out. Thanks! more

Had some problems 10/8/2014

Our freezer stopped working, and the refrigerator was barely cooling. I went to Dick Van Dyke to look for a replacement. I was very distraught and tired, and I took some options on the new refrigerator for granted. The salesman did say that I should take my time in making a decision, but I felt that time was running out for our old refrigerator (an 8 year old Whirlpool - $719.00) - and needed to be replaced ASAP. I bought a 21 cu. ft. Magtag ($950.00) that was very much like our old refrigerator. It arrived one week later (just in time, as our old refrigerator was barely cooling.) After it was delivered, I noticed that there was no light in the freezer, and there was only one control for cooling the freezer and the refrigerator. My old refrigerator (and every other one I've owned in our 38 year marriage) had a light AND separate controls. I went back to the store and complained - I was told that they don't make refrigerators with lights (on units with the freezer on the top) or separate controls. It never crossed my mind that the industry would go BACKWARDS and not continue to offer these two options, especially as we were paying $250 MORE for this unit. Therefore, I never asked about it. Of course, I was told that ALL the side-by-side and bottom freezers have lights . . . . . WHY IS THIS? So my issue with Dick Van Dyke is mainly communication - I probably would have gotten our refrigerator there having found out that ALL refrigerators are made this way. I do wish I had been told this, though, before it was delivered. Also, I was never told that financing was available - I asked about an interest-free loan one day after my unit had been delivered. Therefore, there was nothing they could do for me. I was extremely upset - granted, I should have asked at the time I paid for the unit with my credit card, but I was very distraught about the 8 year old unit dying (our other refrigerator was 18 years old and STILL WORKING - we just wanted to go with a black unit instead of white). In conclusion, I wish I had been told about freezers NOT having lights anymore, and about the controls. I also wish I had been offered the financing. I left feeling very disappointed and upset. I will say that the salesman I had was very helpful and polite, and the two deliverymen were wonderful - they installed everything in a timely fashion and cleaned up any mess before they left. RESPONSE FROM Dick Van Dyke Appliance World: Financing options are advertised throughout the store with signs, as well as indicated on our video board on the street sign. Our sales staff will be reminded to offer financing to all customers as an option. It is often overlooked to touch on all lighting options within a refrigerator. I can certainly understand your frustration with no light in the freezer. Unfortunately, to hit the dimensions of your cabinetry only models without a light were available. Installation of microwave and electric range 10/2/2014

The sales person was great. Gave good information and arranged for a speedy installation the following day. I had 2 different separate installations and both were flawless. Both men knew exactly what to do and we're prepared start to finish. I would highly recommend them. They were all knowledgeable, courteous, and clean. Couldn't be happier. more

BUYER BEWARE THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR WARRANTY!!! 10/1/2014

They claim they back their products for 7-10 years! ( posted all over their store) Then they turn around and say I would have to pay if I needed service..what is wrong here? I will let all my family and friends know to NOT shop there!! This is not the first time they dicked me around!! Our warranty covers all mechanical failures for 5 years and the major component for 10 years. We advertise and post this all over our stores. When I researched your service request I found multiple calls on your appliance repaired at no charge. The previous repairs were within 5 years of the purchase date and covered at no cost to you. However, at the time of your most recent service request your appliance was 6 years old. Therefore, you are required to pay for services rendered.
