Installation of Thermador 3/20/2015

Had two techs Josh and Jim today . Josh put in the new dishwasher. As usual it didn't fit right but he spent an inordinate amount of time to get it right. Looks fantastic !! Jim installed the oven,the stovetop and downdraft fan. The oven went in without a hitch, but the other two,, Jim spent a lot of time getting the downdraft to clear our elevated shelf off our the island and figured out a way for it to fit with the range! He even had to cutout a different downdraft hole to go with the new fan. Phenomenal work buy two really experienced techs!! Probably would not of gotten it accomplished if it wasn't for these two!! Thanks for sending Josh and Jim! more

Friendly, knowledgable salesman and prompt, courteous installation of range/oven 3/20/2015

We had worked with salesman, Bob on previous occasions and are totally confident in his recommendation for a new oven/range. The model and color that we chose was in stock, so it was delivered to our out-of-town residence within 48 hours. The service technician, Aaron, arrived on time, was polite, efficient, and answered all our questions. more

Dishwasher Installation 3/11/2015

On March 9, 2015, my new dishwasher was delivered and installed by 2 very nice and polite young men. They did their jobs efficiently and cleaned up afterwards. I was very pleased with their service and even thou it has only been 2 days the dishwasher is working very well. more

Great customer service=Great experience 3/3/2015

Angie Bosten is a great salesperson. She is very knowlegable, helpful, and not pushy. She explained everything and didn't try to move us towards the most expensive stuff. She made recommendations but it was based on you and how you and your family and how you use your appliances not just the highest price so they could make the most money. We bought a mid priced Fisher & Paykel washer and dryer set. Dick Van Dyke is a place that has kept customers and service as a top priority unlike alot of other big stores. We were there Friday night and our set was delivered Monday. So happy with everything. We will go back and we will recommend to others. Thanks for a great experience. more

Customer service needs some improvement!!! 3/2/2015

We bought a new washing machine and had it delivered. The tech's brought it out and said with the snow they couldn't back into my driveway or wheel it up my driveway for safety reasons. I had them drop it at the road and I hauled it into my house. The tech's were very nice and appeared professional. The problem that upset me is when I called to see if they could come back to connect the washer (which I paid for delivery and install) I never received a phone call back. My experience is they sell you the equipment and take your money then your SOL. My new dryer to match has been ordered through Lowe's and I expect that to be a similar or better experience. more

Recently purchased the Samsung Chef series microwave, electric slide in range and dishwasher. The entire experience beginning with the sales person, Brett, to the installer, Jim, was top notch in terms of answering questions about the functionality and operaiton of the products. more

We recently purchased a washer and dryer at the Dick Van Dyke Appliance World in Decatur. We were most appreciative of the store representative, Josh, who was most helpful in assisting us with our selection. He was most courteous and knowledgeable. We also appreciated the installation of our new washer and dryer by the service installation team of Chris and Josh. They went right to work and had the appliances installed very quickly and answered all of our questions in a most helpful and courteous way. New Dishwasher 2/22/2015

Our delivery and installation guys were fast and friendly. I was impressed they drove about 90 miles through a pretty heavy snowstorm to make our delivery. They had all the tools and equipment needed to complete the job in a single trip, which was great. I did find it strange that they left without turning the power back on to test the dishwasher though. I thought they would make sure it worked and see if there were any leaks. Still, everything seems to be just fine and I'm happy I chose Dick Van Dyke for this purchase over one of the big chain stores. more

Samsung Fridge Purchase/Install 2/20/2015

This is our third appliance purchase from Dick Van Dyke in Bloomington. We purchased a new fridge yesterday from Holly in the Bloomington store. She spent over an hour with me going over the selection in their store. I appreciated her knowledge and tips! James and Matt I. just left after delivering our purchase. They were fast and courteous!! We are very pleased with the quick turnaround, professional sales and delivery staff. We will continue to use Dick Van Dyke for our appliance needs. more

Refrigerator delivery 2/19/2015

Had a new refrigerator delivered. Two-person team was arrived and got right to work. Took old frig to the garage and brought new one in. Had to run a water line to the new frig and within 2-hours of it being installed we had ice cubes. Very courteous and professional. Answered any questions I had and cleaned up prior to leaving. Salesman Jeff Weather was a pleasure to work with. We worked with Jeff in outfitting our entire kitchen (oven, microwave, dishwasher and frigerator) and he was quick to assist, answered any questions we had on the appiances, and before we knew it, our appliance arrived and installed. Extremely Poor Servuce 2/14/2015

We ordered our refrigerator on 12/18/14 and was told it would be in and delivered beginning of January 2015. We received two phone calls stating our refrigerator arrived damaged and delivery had to be postponed. Our refrigerator was finally delivered in mid January only to find one of the doors was dented and the refrigerator itself was not cooling. So we had to take off on a Thursday so a technician could come take a look. The technician said it seemed like it was "in demo mode" and could not get it to work so we had to take Friday off for an "expert technician" to come out to take a look. Unfortunately the expert technician could not get it to work either and we were told just to wait til Monday. We called our salesman, Matt Doman who assured me he or service would call back that night to find out how to proceed. Needless to say we didn't hear a word from Matt so we called Saturday and Matt's response was he was told he could not talk to us. On Monday, we still heard nothing so we called and were given John Shepard's name. He instructed us that we would be charged a 20% restocking fee if we returned the brand new fridge that hasn't worked since day one but they could order us another one that would be here on 2/10/15 and delivered on 2/11/15. On 2/11/15 we voluntarily moved delivery to 2/14/15. On 2/14/15 we received a call saying our fridge would be delivered between 1pm-5pm. At 3pm we received a call from the same gal who called at 9am stating delivery has been cancelled because the refrigerator arrived damaged. Didn't they know it was damaged on 2/10/15 or did it not arrive and they were hoping it would be here before this afternoon? I stopped by the store this evening and conveniently the salesman claimed they had a floor model but for some reason could not locate it. So did we get the floor model that's "in demo mode"? Unless you can take 4 days off from work and wait 2 plus months to get appliances that are in working condition I would highly recommend going to another appliance store! This has been the worst experience with This company! more

Washer broke over a month ago, found it it is still under warranty (good news) not! i could have bought a new washer with the money I'm spending at the laundry mat! First fix was a fail now waiting... 2/4/2015

Bought new washer and dryer and had them switched out by the service men James and Gino. 1/25/2015

I initially called for a service call for our 25 year old washer. They came out and 35 bucks later said that it would be more cost effective to buy a new one than put money into the old. Our dryer was also taking three runs to get things dry so this was the time to get a new pair. I did get a 25 dollar coupon to use a Dick Van Dyke which was nice. We did some price shopping around for prices and went to Dick Van Dyke here in Bloomington. I always here the WOW commercials on the radio. HA. The salesman there was very informative of all the features of the new washers/dryers. They showed us several different options in various price ranges, all which seemed lower than what we had seen in the other stores. We found a set that fit out needs and space in the house. We liked the 5/10 warrantee and also did the free financing. We ordered and were very satisfied. Later we found out there was a hitch, the pair we choose was not in stock and needed to be ordered and initially were told it was going to be at least another week or so. I drove to the store and spoke with the salesman again and told them we were taking all of our laundry out to the mat to do and needed to get our new appliances asap. They checked the schedule and moved us up on the list and were able to get them in only a few days. WOW, that was a nice customer service. The two service men that came to take out our old appliances and put in the new ones were very careful and cleaned up all the mess as it was snowing outside. They answered any questions about the new machines and gave us all our needed paperwork. They even played with our dog as they were leaving. Overall I would say that this was an excellent experience, best price, received education on matching our needs to the right appliances-we even got steam drying, adjusted their schedule to get our purchases sooner, and were courteous and respectful of our home. Yes, I will recommend Dick Van Dyke to others when they are in need of repair or new appliances. more

service needed on brand new dishwasher 1/24/2015

I bought a new dishwasher that tripped a circuit the first time I tried to use it. After resetting circuit breaker, ran the load and it was soaking wet even with the heated dry on. The good thing was serviceman came day I called but had to order new control board and heating element. How does a brand new machine need major parts replaced immediately? When I asked about getting a different one I was informed there would be a 20% restocking fee! Also the installation technician noted a chip in the door and said I would be contacted to either arrange replacement of the door or a discount. Even though I have called and asked about this twice I am still waiting 3 weeks later. I do have to say servicemen are very professional and prompt. more

Great service! 1/23/2015

Jeff Weathers was quite helpful from the first time my wife entered the Champaign-Neil Street store and throughout our appliance remodel search. Ordering and installation process went smooth. However, the installer connected the dishwasher to the new garbage disposal even though we had a separate waste line for the dishwasher. Dishwasher didn't drain so we contacted the store. They sent a technician right away. Once he found out the garbage disposal was new he disconnected the line and discovered the plug was still in the disposal. He left the plug in and routed the line to the dedicated waste line I had installed. Therefore things are as they should be thanks to great response! Light bulb went out in the oven after just three days but we replaced it ourselves. If it goes out again I'll contact the store and I'm confident they'll check it out in record time. Thanks! more

delivery of washer and dryer 1/20/2015

We had our new washer and dryer delivered yesterday that we had purchased at Dick Van Dyke Appliance World. The delivery men - James and Andy were wonderful!! Not only were they very careful with my wood floors but they were quick to install and were kind enough to take the time to explain to us how the washer and dryer worked. With all the new options on it I would have taken a week to figure it all out!! Thank you again James and Andy! more
