New Speed Queen Washer & Dryer 7/1/2015

We prefer to do our business with locally-owned independent companies. Brett M. was a friendly and knowledgeable salesperson. He was commendable in his "no pressure" educational sales presentation. All staff that we dealt with were cordial and helpful. On-time delivery by skilled installers. Both were competent, careful, and congenial. Our overall DVD experience was pleasant. We're very happy! I purchased a new stove and once the servicemen came to deliver and remove the old stove, they were done within 15 minutes. They were professional and installed it corretly. Love the warrnty so I dont have to worry if something breaks unlike my last stove. I love the new stove and would definatley do business with Dick Van Dyke. more

Terrible customer service 6/23/2015

We have been waiting over 3 months for a refund credit to our credit card. We've called several times and are told the refund would be issued and it has not been. We purchased a gift for our. Daughter and son in law who live in Springfield. We live in Naperville and have never experienced such a customer service nightmare. RESPONSE FROM Dick Van Dyke Appliance World: We thought we had addressed this refund when the accessory was returned to our Springfield store. After further investigation, we did see that the paperwork on our end had been processed for a refund but the actual credit card reimbursement had not been made. This bookkeeping error has been corrected and we have emailed your family copies of the receipt showing a full refund. We apologize for the oversight and thank you for bringing it to our attention. Writing to praise the gentlemen that delivered a refrigerator today. 6/22/2015

I am writing to say thanks two the two men that delivered a refrigerator to Church House for Church of Jesus $@!#%, Elim Springs Park, Sullivan. The deliver went to a condo owned by our church where a new refrigerator was badly needed. The delivery was fast, efficient, and workmen were neat, helpful and went our to their way to make the tenant feel happy about the new refrigerator. Delivery was made to 208 Elim Springs Park. Horrible installation experience 6/22/2015

Their incompetence is unbelievable. They didn't call to confirm the installation our new dishwasher and when the installers showed they didn't have the parts they needed to connect the water supply. The installers couldn't go to a hardware store to buy what they needed. They left a mess and said we would get a call the next morning which didn't happen. I purchased the parts and finished the installation myself. DON'T PAY THEM A DIME FOR INSTALLATION - GET SOMEONE ELSE!! RESPONSE FROM Dick Van Dyke Appliance World: We apologize that you feel that the installation process was not done in a professional manner. Our installers carry the most common installation parts on their trucks, and yes sometimes they may not have the most unique installation parts available. Our installer notified our customer service department of the installation issues with the water line. When my customer service department called to schedule a return visit you informed us the water line was installed. You shared with my staff that you had already done the installation yourself after obtaining the necessary fittings. When I heard that you finished the installation I offered you a refund of a portion of your installation labor. Our installer installed everything and was only unable to test the water line, which would have been taken care of the next day when we sent someone out to finish the unique installation. Again, I apologize that you feel the installation was poor, but we did everything that we could to try and make this right. Awful Customer Service 6/12/2015

I waited 10 hours on a service technician to come to my house to do a service call. When I contacted supervisor they would not give me a discount or refund for the call. They stated over and over that this is their policy that they cannot refund money. obviously they do not care about the inconvenience to their customers. Their warranty is for the birds. I was shocked to learn that you waited 10 hours for our services. We offer a variety of options to help everyone with their busy lifestyle. Our call center representatives offered you a 30 minute call to meet. The majority of our customers’ love the flexibility of not having to wait at home all day for our services. We call them 30 minutes before our arrival and they meet us at their home. Our warranty is one of the best in the industry. We give our customers’ a five year 10 year warranty when they purchase a qualifying appliance. Our warranty pays for all parts and labor for any mechanical failure. The 10 year warranty will cover the cost of the major component. Again, I apologize for any inconvenience we may have caused during your last service request. Washer and Dryer 6/8/2015

My sister had just moved into her first house and needed a washer and dryer so I contacted Holly at the Bloomington store to see if she was working that evening. Luckily she was and we finished up our dinner and head over. She was very helpful and knowledgeable about each of the washers and dryers and she found a perfect fit for my sister! My sister loves her new washer and dryer and we appreciated all the help that Holly gave us that night so much!!! more

I had been in the Champaign store several times before purchasing. Bob Turner was always there to answer questions and was never pushy. When the time to buy came he made it quick and simple. The installer Dan was polite and did a good job and was on time. He explained all the paperwork and did a nice job. more

However after 3 days of no ice and having reset the timer. I pulled the refrigerator out from the wall to check the water supply to find the white supply line after the solenoid valve was kinked close. I removed about 3" of line reconnected and wa-la we now have ice. this was a manufacture defect. nothing to do with the installers. more

Dan Renewed Our Faith in DVD 6/2/2015

Our promised delivery day for our new dishwasher was frought with delivery problems. I will not go into detail, but Senior Installer Dan renewed our faith in the company. He worked hard during the install, working well past his normal hours. Dan was very pleasant and personable and worked to insure all went well. Bought a new washer and dryer. Very poor installation service and customer service form appliance repair department. 6/2/2015

Bought a new washer and dryer after water break on the 2nd floor caused major damages upstairs and downstairs (including the old washer & dryer downstairs). New linoleum installed in laundry room on May 20th. On May 21th DVD installers arrived late in the afternoon (I have no problem there) and put washer & dryer in wrong spot (even after being told where to locate them). It took a few minutes to get them to understand the washer couldn't be put over the spot the toilet needed to be put back into, then recklessly slid the washer and dry around and tore a 4" hole in my day old linoleum. DVD service department only offered $50 to repair since they didn't know how old it was. Linoleum installer sent the original quote from May 11th and DVD upped the offer to $150 to repair the 1 day new linoleum. DVD would not replace the 1 day new linoleum since, and I quote Amanda "It was only a 4" hole" and DVD won't pay to have floors replaced, only repaired, no matter how new they are. Be vey careful when dealing with DVD. Lucky for me I hadn't bought the new refrigerator and dishwasher for upstairs since the cabinets and kitchen linoleum hadn't been installed yet. At this point I can only say Buyer Beware when using DVD Appliance World. Dennis Reiken, I would love to your comments on this, it is definitely not the service on your TV ads. RESPONSE FROM Dick Van Dyke Appliance World: We apologize that you feel we didn’t meet your expectations handling your claim. I realize that we damaged your floor delivering your new appliances. We always send out a local linoleum repair facility to fix/inspect the tear. We tried to explain if the local company was unable to repair your floor we would request bids to replace the floor. You still refused these options. Therefore, we mailed you a $150.00 check for the damages to your floor. Our local repair company typically charges between $100 and $150 to repair small tears. We opted to send you the $150 to give you the ability to work with someone other than our preferred repair facility. Again, I apologize that you feel we didn’t handle your claim properly. Purchased five appliances was charged $79.99 for delivery and had to level the refrigerator myself. The appliances had to be delivered at different times due to new construction. The builder had to pick up the dishwasher because there was only one person on the delivery truck after requesting at least two persons needed due to construction conditions. more
