lemon clause 5/29/2015

Our washer is not yet 4 years old. We have been waiting now for three weeks to get it fixed a third time. This will be the second time the motor will be replaced. Two motors? Seriously! Oh but it is not a lemon unless they have been out 4 times in a year on the same unit. Please! 2 motors in 4 years is a LEMON. 3 services calls in a year is a LEMON! We dont want a second motor under warranty. We want a new machine, not a lemon. Perhaps Henry's will get our service when this poece of $@!#% permanenytl goes out. RESPONSE FROM Dick Van Dyke Appliance World: I’m sorry for the inconvenience the failed motor has caused your family. Our warranty replaces the failed part at no cost to you for 5 years. Our warranty will replace your appliance if you have 4 different mechanical repairs in any 12 month period during the first 5 years of ownership. . I understand your frustration with the mechanical part failing prematurely, but I’m very happy that you have our exclusive 5 year 10 year warranty. The motor replacement repair costs exceed $200.00 every time we repair your washer. If you had purchased your appliance anywhere else the two repairs would have made the repairs cost prohibitive. Sean was great when installing our new GE Profile dishwasher. He made sure it was working before he left. This was a hard installation because he had to do much work to get our old dishwasher removed. more

Ruined my wood floor, they told me to turn it into insurance company, when I refused they told me to contact BBB 5/27/2015

All companies make mistakes, it how they handle situation that makes customers return. I had DVD com and replace my water lines on my fridge, never a problem with leaks ever. They did, then I stared seeing discoloration of my floor in front of fridge. I blamed my 4 year old, then I came into find water on the floor. I pulled fridge out for first time since repair and the water lines they replaced had been leaking back there ruining floor seeping under floor and causing discoloration. I sent pictures and was informed to turn it into my insurance company, when I refused they said to call the BBB. Horrible I will NEVER use these people again RESPONSE FROM Dick Van Dyke Appliance World: I apologize that after our conversation you still feel we aren’t standing behind our repair on your refrigerator. I tried to explain that since 4 months had passed since the repair we felt turning it over to your insurance was appropriate. You were adamant that you weren’t going to get your insurance carrier involved. I then recommended you call the better Business Bureau. We recommend the Better Business Bureau because they are an unbiased intermediary to resolve disputes. I explained to you the process was simple and didn’t cost anything. I further explained if the BBB felt we were liable for any damages that we would assume full responsibility. However, you wanted us to pay for everything without question 4 months after we repaired your refrigerator. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you and your family. Our salesperson was great. Greg did his very best to make things as good as he could. The delivery service and technician were the problems. Unprofessional representatives that reflected extremely poorly on a fine store with good products. Disappointing. Late 5/24/2015

I was told they were on their way to install my new microwave so I left work and drove to my house. We should have met about the same time. Waited over an hour as my microwave wasn't on the truck and they had to go pick it up. They should have called and let me know they were going to be late. They did a great job on installing the microwave. I just hated that they didn't let me know they were going to be late. Isn't my time valuable? more

Lee Huxtable at the Bloomington store was amazing. I needed a double oven in a hurry and he went out of his way to see that I got what I needed. I was having a big dinner party and needed the oven installed ASAP. He took care of arranging the installation team and coming out to measure the existing opening to be sure the oven would fit. Billy, our salesman at the Champaign store was very helpful. He got our new appliances to us as soon as possible. When our installer came with the appliances, I believe his name was Don but I may be wrong-sorry, he not only moved everything out and the new ones in during a rainstorm, he also left our home in better shape than when he came. He was friendly, professional and a very hard worker. more

Also, Mark, who came later that day to adjust my plumbing (associated with the water hook-ups), worked diligently and purposefully and efficiently to improve my service from you. Love our new appliances! 5/5/2015

We decided we would get the most for our money in terms of service down the road if we needed it, by going with Dick Van Dyke Appliance World. Our salesman was extremely knowledgeable about the products and was not high pressure. Our new Slate stove and microwave are beautiful and both work great - very happy with them. I was notified at 8:30am that the delivery window was 11-5:00pm. Fortunately I was able to work from home that day. Stove installation was around noon with the microwave almost 5:00 - both times I was alerted the installer was on the way. Installers were professional with only one area on the wall with a ding from the microwave installation. They removed our old appliances and placed them in the garage where we requested. more

Still waiting on installation hardware 5/5/2015

I recently purchased a new oven and above range microwave from the store in Springfield. Once the appliance were delivered, I was upset to discover the microwave came with absolutely no installation hardware. No bracket, no screws, no bolts. Called the store on 04/27/2015 and informed them of my issue. After getting sent around to different departments I was finally told the missing parts would be ordered and delivered to my house. A week later I am still without parts and now I've received my first bill. I'm basically paying for something I cannot use until these guys get their act together and get me the parts I need. Maybe they should make a "true story" commercial about this experience..... more

The person in the store (holly) was excellent. .. she showed us everything we wanted to see and described the appliances and features to us. She did not push us at all to buy a certain brand or model. Financing is great! The guys who came to install the dishwasher and fridge we super nice, quick, and polite. They for sure knew what they were doing. This whole experience had been wonderful and i will for sure recommend dick van dyke to everyone I know! more
