Exceptional Service 9/3/2015

We recently had a new dishwasher installed within 24 hours of purchase. Aaron was efficient and very knowledgeable during installation. Both installers were friendly and courteous during the installation. We were impressed by our whole experience and look forward to contact Dick Van Dyke for future appliance needs first. New refrigerator 8/22/2015

We had always purchased appliances at Sears. We were needing a new fridge and I had heard the radio ad for DVD and decided to give them a try. Excellent experience, from the salesman and the store manager to the delivery/install guy Brandon! It took him about 30 minutes to bring the new one in and get everything hooked up. Very nice product and company. I will recommend you to anyone who will listen! more

Great Service 8/12/2015

We purchased an upright freezer and had a very good experience with bot the salesman and the delivery men. We were so happy with the entire experience that when it came time to find range hood we just went straight to Dick Van Dykes and picked out what we wanted without even shopping around knowing we would be getting the best deal. They delivered and installed and took away all cartons and the old hood. We are very happy. more

Sucked 8/7/2015

Thought I had everything paid for until the guys showed up to install the new washer and dryer. Told me I could use a new elbow and extension pipe at the vent and I needed an elbow for the vet part coming into the dryer. Should cost me only $10.00. In need of the washer dryer to be installed I told them to go ahead. I paid them and they left. After the install of the dryer I was told to allow the dryer to run for 30 mins to burn off the newness and smell. After techs left I went to check out the new equipment and found the vent elbow at the top end had come off and was blowing lint all over the utility room, just after I had cleaned it too. The lint was coming from the area where the pipe comes thru the house. Why he didn't clean that out before he put the new elbow up I haven't a clue. Or at least told me it was full of lint and I could of cleaned it out with the Vac I had handy. I shut the dryer off and called the Tech's phone and told him what happened asked him to come back.. He said he would call it in and have another serviceman come out. I wasn't available after 5:30 that evening, and yes, that's when he showed up and I wasn't home but he did come back the next morning and made repairs and even put a clamp on the pipe. Not sure why I wasn't charged for that item but wasn't. He also went outside and checked the exhaust before he left. I had cleaned out the lint and spent 2 hours cleaning up the mess in the laundry room in the basement. I should send DVD a bill for my cleaning but being the nice guy "I" am, I won't do that.. I bet I do end up getting a bill for the clamp that was installed. Would I buy from DVD again? "NO"! Would I recommend them to someone else? "NO!" In fact I told a neighbor that I was going to look at Washers and Dryers at DVD, She told me NO! don't go there... they are horrible. Guess I should of listened to her.. Treat a customer right and they will come back. Treat them terrible and guess what, they won't! I'll be in need a a new dishwasher soon, guess where I "won't" be buying it at? more

Bought the Jenn-Air cooktop and the experience was great 8/6/2015

I bought the Jenn-Air 6 burner cooktop and the experience was nice and easy. The sales person was professional and explained exactly how the purchase and installation would be handled with the cost of the appliance matching what I had found on line. The installation was on time and went smoothly. I will check Dick Van Dyke appliance for all my future needs. more

Purchased a speed queen washer & dryer 8/3/2015

Did plenty of research before making my decision to purchase a Speed Queen washer/dryer set. The rest was pretty quick including the delivery and set up. Sean was fast and courteous and obviously knowledgeable about getting the customer set up with working appliances. I am delighted to be doing laundry while I write this at home instead of at a laundry mat. Thanks to Sean as well as the salesmen, John & Pete at the Decatur store for the courteous service I received and quick delivery! more

Seldom do I take the time to write a review...good or bad. Only when thoroughly impressed will I submit one. This is one of those times. I was in need of a new dryer. I went to Appliance World first based upon a neighbors recommendation. Understand, I would rather take a sharp stick to the eye than shop for an appliance. I was greeted immediately upon walking in the door, found what I needed in minutes, was quoted a price and a delivery date in just a few more and was out the door. After pricing and comparing similar dryers at other stores like Lowe's, Home Depot, etc., I went back to Appliance World, purchased my dryer and was out the door in 15 minutes. Awesome! Delivery was on time, friendly, and fast. Great job by all! more

Very polite! 7/17/2015

Our delivery man Sean Susman very polite and did a great job, in spite of the fact that it is eight steps up to our door, and it was 90 degrees in our un-air-conditioned kitchen. Also, the GE Artistry appliances are super cool. more

Dishwasher 7/10/2015

Very good experience. Purchased dishwasher @ Decatur store, was told what day it would be installed. First thing that morning, I was called to confirm they would be here between 9-12. at 9...installer called said he would be here in 40 min. Was here in 30. Inspected, installed and was gone by 11. I'm very impressed with the professionalism of the installer and his detailed work ethic. I will definitely used DVD in the future. more

purchase and installation of dryer 7/7/2015

John Stock was very helpful and knowledgable when we shopped for a new dryer. We had one issue when the delivery was made, the door on the dryer had not been switched as we had requested. John was right on top of the issue and the serviceman was at our home the next business day to switch the door at no extra cost. He followed up with us to make sure we were happy and that all was good. Please do not add my email address to any newsletter or offer email lists. more

In A Hurry 7/3/2015

My delivery man seemed to be in a hurry. He was very reluctant to take the doors off the refrigerator going out of the house and take the doors off the one coming in the house. He also was reluctant to pop off the door in the kitchen to get the refrigerators where they needed to be. Whatever was pressing on his mind was very evident. He forgot to turn the water off after he installed the waterline, thereby spewing water all over the kitchen floor. As he was leaving, I had to ask about the missing panel on the bottom of the refrigerator.... where was it? His rushing to get done was the cause of his lack of performance. However I would recommend Dick Van Dyke Appliance World. I had a great salesman. He was very patient with my many questions. He was willing to the distance to get me a price comparison. I really like the personal touch that I would have not gotten elsewhere. more

Good final outcome/slow process 7/3/2015

We purchased a panel-ready dishwasher (we furnished panel) and were scheduled to have a "senior" installer to put it in. Two very nice young guys came instead and were very late and clearly over their heads. They spent two hours before announcing they could not complete the job until an electrician did more work (unknown and not previewed in sales info). After having that done (electrician said the extra work was unnecessary), a real senior installer came and did a great job in 45". more

We weren't entirely sure what to purchase when our 16 year old dryer bit the dust. We had heard about the warranty plan at Dick Van Dyke so we checked it out. All of the sales persons were very professional, knowledgeable, and not pushy at all. When it was all said and done we purchased a washer as well! Just received them at home a couple of hours ago and was impressed with the deliver and install team as well! Great guys, friendly, and customer oriented! We will definitely shop here again! more

Store does not live up to Price matching as advertised 7/2/2015

Purchased a Samsung refrigerator on 6/20/2015 at Decatur store, delivered on 6/22-2015, on 6/24/2015, I observed an advertisement for the exact same refrigerator for $700.00 less. Took price information to Decatur store on 6/25/2015, salesman said he had to check with District manager. On 7/2/2015, the salesman contacted me, to deny refunding the difference, due to price difference was after sale. So Dick Van Dyke does not honor price matching, and will no longer get any business from me. RESPONSE FROM Dick Van Dyke Appliance World: We guarantee the best "deal" at the time of purchase/delivery. The best deal includes our free 5/10 Protection Plan which you received on your purchase and holds a $200 value. On the day of your purchase the competitor's regular price on the same unit was $600 (sticker) over our price and in actuality $800 better when considering the value of the 5/10 Protection Plan (competitor offered no free extended service). Dick Van Dyke had the best deal on the day of your sale. We do not advertise "price matching" after delivery as it is difficult to determine value of an already used appliance. If the competitor's deal is brought to our attention prior to installation, that deal will be matched down to the penny.
