TRU Limousine

My family wanted to make my father-in-laws 80th Birthday extra extra special. Tru Limousine helped us do just that on Saturday, 10/19/13 ! Starting with the owners attentiveness in booking the service to our driver (Elind) who was second to none with his courteous and professional manner. He arrived our residence slightly ahead of time, the limo was impeccably prepared including water and ice that we used to keep the celebration bottle of champagne chilled that we brought along for evening! The drive to our NYC restaurant destination was nice and smooth and we arrived right on time for our dinner reservation. So if you are looking to make the moment extra special I highly recommend Tru Limo.... they will not disappoint you. \r Thank you for a job well done! more

We booked car service for our wedding literally 3days before our wedding. Originally the task was to be done by my father, however before we realized it we were rushing to book it. Thankfully when I spoke to Tru Limousine they were extremely helpful in discussing the price and the service. They even advised that what I was originally looking to book was not needed and provided a different package that suited our needs and saved us some money. \r \r Our driver was prompt and extremely understanding when we were late to the ceremony and oozing stress. He was courteous, sweet and not only swift in delivering us the location but a very safe driver as well. We definitely recommend their services! more

We hired Tru Limo service after. I was 50/50 after reading some reviews on line. It seems most of the problems were parties running late or running over. I was very comfortable hiring them after I met the owner. The limo showed up exactly on time, the driver was a gentlemen and a true professional and drove us to our destination without any issues. what a wonderful experience. I will use them again. The car was clean, looked great, we were proud to show up in it. Great Job !!!! more

We used them last week and took out one of the buses. All went well and our driver Al was really cool. He suggested a few places we hang out so we went and had a blast. Overall, the bus was new and clean, the driver was on time and we paid what we were quoted. more

BLUF: I would urge potential customers to seek companies other than Tru Limo to do business with if you are looking for limousine services. \r \r I dealt with Kevin from Tru Limo and had an awful experience. I was booking a 20 passenger party bus for a bachelor party from central NJ to NYC. I received a quote with a deal stating if you reserve 8 hours, you get one hour free. However, their event contract did not honor their previous quote. I sent an email (with previous quote, as well as previous email confirming discounted price) asking for clarification of the price discrepancy, and received a curt response to reference their price sheet. Upon calling in an attempt to get an explanation, Kevin was rude and said that it would take his driver over an hour to come get us (on average, a 35 minute drive) and that is why it cost more. I disagreed with his estimate of time and he told me to take it or leave it, at that point I informed him due to his attitude in email as well as over the phone I would not be doing business with his company. He got the last word stating that he did not need me anyway.\r \r For a company in the service industry, they place a very low value on customer appreciation.\r \r Do yourself a favor, and shop around for a better experience. more

TRU LIMOUSINE LEFT US STRANDED ON THE STREETS ON OUR WEDDING DAY!!!!!!! Got married on 7/31/11. Our Church ceremony was held in Maplewood,NJ (one block outside of Irvington,NJ). We paid full in cash plus gratuity before our wedding day because TRU LIMO said we would get a discount for paying in full before wedding date. We paid for 4 hours of service (1pm-5pm). Our Ceremony was over at 4pm and the Limo Driver barged into church telling our guest (While Bride and Groom were taking family photos) that he was going to leave if we don't pay him an extra $100cash for staying overtime. Since, we were all excited about our wedding and not paying attention to time because non of us had a watch on, we paid him an extra $100 cash. After we finished our photos at 4:30pm, and after all of our guest and family had left to go to reception held in West Orange,NJ (only 15mins away)...We got into the limo and the limo driver, drives two blocks away from Church and stops the limo and turns off the air and told us that we had to give him an extra $100 to move the car. It was very obvious that WE (BRIDE AND GROOM) did not have our wallets or cell phones with us, nor a watch. We told the limo driver that we would give him cash when we get to the venue. He said ""NO"" he's not moving until he gets paid on the spot. The limo driver demanded us to get out the car on the streets of Irvington, NJ and ""WE"" (bride and groom) had to walk 2 blocks back to Church in the heat wave to call a family member to pick us up on our wedding day!!!! we did not pay attention to the time until we walked back to church and it was only 4:50pm! The limo driver lied to us about keeping him over time, we even paid him an extra $100, and he demanded for another $100 after all our guest left to go to the reception from Church. Limo driver did not wear tux as promised, no champagne as promised, and no red carpet as promised. He ruined a huge chunk of our wedding day. Left us stranded, stole our money, and we were late to our own reception. PLEASE!!!!! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM! more

6 months after using our service, this company received 3 email alerts from different web sites that Kristy Lynn Moody, Linden, NJ 07036 has posted negative reviews about this company. This company did perform wedding limousine services on 8/14/2010. Ms. Moody and her husband Tomasz Kierzkowski contracted a 21 passenger party bus from 1:30pm until 5:30pm for a period of 4 hours, not the 5 hours claimed by Mrs. Moody- Kierzkowski . The vehicle arrived at the above address at 1:07pm for a1:30pm scheduled pickup and sat idle until 1:35pm and then took the groomsmen to the Seton Hall University Chapel as contracted. The Bus arrived at 2:09pm and after the groomsmen were discharged, the bus immediately left for the Belleville location. more

Not only were they 30 minutes late to pick me up for my wedding ( yes, my husband was waiting at the alter for 30 minutes), but they were late because they driver felt that he had extra time between dropping off my groom and picking me up that he decided to go run some errands! When my mother and I had called to see where the limo was, the OWNER started YELLING and CURSING at us for questioning his business and his employees. When the limo had finally arrived, I had to give him directions every step of the way- as if he didn?t just drop my groom off in the same exact place an hour ago. After the ceremony, my mother ( dressed in her ball gown) and grandfather In his tux) had to unload the guests overnight bags from the limo, as the driver just stood there supervising. When my mom finally asked him for assistance, his response was that it wasn?t his problem. As if this wasn?t bad enough, we had paid for the limo for 5 hours, and when we booked we informed the owner that we would be making a stop between the ceremony and reception for some pictures. He had told us that it wouldn?t be a problem since it was on the way to our reception and since we had the limo for 5 hours. He also mentioned that if we wanted the limo for longer, we could just pay per half hour the day of. Well, when my husband informed the driver of our interim destination he said NO! After a heated conversation with the driver, he agreed to let us go in for ?5 minutes, no more, no less.? After our 5 minutes were up the driver literally came into the building we were at and started pulling the wedding party out like a herd of cattle. When I called the next day to discuss the service we received with the owner, he once again started SCREAMING and CURSING at me. When I stated that we wanted the 20% service fee ( tip) back that was included in our payment he said it wasn?t possible and hung up on me. DO NOT USE THIS LIMO COMPANY!!!! THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS OR THE SERVICE THEY PROVIDE!!! more

After several visits to limousine companies and looking at about 8 companies all over New York and New Jersey, I found some interesting facts. The biggest issue I found was that most of these companies didn't even own the cars they had on their web site and most of them required an appointment to see a car and even when making an appointment, the cars were not there. At Tru we found that everyhting he has on his web site was on the lot, they started up all the buses and allowed us to put our Ipods and DVDs in to see if things worked. We were impressed how clean the cars were and more happy to know that we could come without an appointment and when we did, the cars were always clean and they treated us like royalty. The day before our trip, Kevin allowed us to come into the bus and decorate and he even helped. Our trip was fantabulous, the driver did a great job and the bus they had was the best bang for the buck. more

I am writing this post to say that I was impressed and this a very good company to work with. We reserved the new 2011 42 passenger VIP ROOM Party bus and it was off the wall crazy. All I can say is OMG! They really have a nice bus and the hostess Johanna was awesome. We got just what we asked for and they did a wonderful job and I would recommend them everytime and all the time. more

This was the worst limo ride i ever had... To make a long story short... they were unprofessional. #1 the limo arrived late #2 limo driver never opened the door #3 driver went down a one way.. made an illegal u-turn..hit a parked car and left the scene?#4 never made it to the second destination. When I called to speak to a manager (Kevin) he was rude and told me that we didn?t make it because we were the ones running late and would not refund me the money I lost. Kevin was truly unprofessional when we was talking to me and told me that if I wanted to get my money back then I should take him to court. I made several complaints to BBB and Consumer Affairs? DO NOT BOOK WITH THESE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cons: EVERYTHING more

Recently, myself and 12 other cadets used TRU limo to hang out in the city. We got picked up at Grant Turn Around and took a ride into NYC while being on break. Usually, we get a van from Westpoint to Newark Liberty from TRU when we go home on break but this time we all decided to stay local so they sent us a nice limo and we hung out in the City.I have to admit that our car was clean and the driver was on time. We got to NYC and had fun all day Friday night and didnt get back to the dorm until early saturday morning. This is my first year here so my class started using this limo company because it was reccomended to us by upper classmen. They are really good at what they do and we will use them every chance we get. Thanks for the great service.? Pros: Everyone recommends them more

Just yesterday, a group of us parents got the 42 passenger Bus for a prom in Pennsylvania. We are located about 2 1/2 hours from this company and were really concerned about the distance they were from our home. Not only did they get here, they were here an hour ahead of schedule and the bus was AMAZING! The service was impeccable and our driver knew where he was going. Unlike what I have heard about some of these limo companies, TRU came through and they absolutely beat out all the others in price and value. More bang for the buck and they are the ""Red Carpet"" of the limo businesses that we searched on the web. We will tell you, they are number 1 and you should use them before any others. My friends and I recently had a horrible experience with Tru Limousine (Driver name: Troy) when our fun night out ended very badly. To make a long story short, we had a very unprofessional limo driver that was very rude and unwilling to do his job. No.# 1, he never opened the door for us. No.# 2, when we asked him to drive us to a second location, he appeared very irritated and upset about it. He also became argumentative and annoyed. He kept reminding us what time it was and how we would go over it. No. #3 We PAID the extra hour to extend our night, but after getting back to the limo 40 minutes PRIOR to the end-time, he refused to drive us back home unless we paid him another $97. All-in-all the unprofessionalism of the limo driver was a most unpleasant and unnecessary incident. I do not at all recommmend this service. To ensure a worry-free fun night out, I suggest looking for a different company. more

we booked a limo for a surprise bacherlorette party from this company. We paid upfront for a set amount of time but were told that if we wanted to extend the time we will have to pay the driver. So on the day of the outing we extended the limo service till 3.15 we paid the driver the $100 in cash. When we approached the limo to take us back home at 2.35 the limo driver stated that he has to charge us for an additional hour and would not take us home unless we paid. We told him that we have paid him till 3.15 and 40 mins was ample time to reach our destination. If it exceeded the time we would give him more money but the distance was definitely not more than 30 mins away.The driver refused to open the door leaving 9 girls out in the cold. Finally when he did open the door he refused to leave and kept arguing with us till 3.00. He said we were drunk and we should pay. True we hired a limo service so we could drink and not have to drive home however not all of us drink or were drunk. We basically had to take our stuff out of the limo and cab it home. Honestly i'd give my money to a cab(even pay double, which wasn't the case) but refused to give him any more money coz it was a matter of principle. I think the driver was very unprofessional and inconsiderate. We did call the owner, Kevin and told him the situation from our cab but he hung up. We were home in 20 mins in a cab. Please be very careful of this business. There might be more negative posts here only because we were 9 disappointed women. Rent from this company with caution. We had a very bad experience and personally would never recommend this limo service to anyone. NO STARS SHOULD BE AWARDED to this business. On Monday after the incident, Kevin told our friend who did the booking that he will fire the driver Larry Troy and refunded the money for the extra hour. We got our $100 back but Tru Limo needs to check who they hire in the first place and offer employee training. (the limo driver never once opened the door for us- which we didn't mind but leaving us out in the cold was totally unacceptable) This is a service industry but this service was far below standard.
