when we found out about the bedbug situation in our apt, we were in shock, and calling around town for bedbugs companies right away. I called several through yelp and phone book. the price varies widely, but after speaking bennett from post pest management and reading an article written by him online, I felt very confident in his service and the price was right. thats what a heard of mice and ants seemed like to my delicate wife when i called positive pest!! not only did they understand the sensitivity and instability of my wife but they came in and stayed till the sun set to experience what i was going thru with the intruders!! when they saw and heard what we had been experiencing they formulated a plan and with a limited amount of disruptions to my daily life they solved my problem and the intruders have never returned and this is 5 years later!! The staff at positive pest was really great in explaning exactly what we needed to do before they came. Also once they came they answered all of our questions and made sure to help us save any items that were salvagable. I was so impressed with the amount of time the exterminator spent answering my questions. When I arrived back on site the exterminator had done an extremely detailed job of treating all aread. I have used the services provided by Positive Pest twice now (not in the same apartment). After the experience I had last year, I didn't even think of contacting another company when I moved into a new apartment and realized it needed a pest control treatment. They are fast, reliable and willing to accommodate my schedule. If I send an email, I know I will get a response from them in less than a day and that -for me- is extremely important when dealing with a situation like this. I was told by a house inspector that I had termites and needed to have my home treated. Postiive Pest came promptly looked at the damage and told me I did NOT need treatment. The damage was old and there was no sign of current activity. That is great service!!! more

this was the first time I've had an exterminator come. Benett sent us an email with all the instructions and how to prep our rooms. I had to get a box spring cover for after the treatment- which i got from them for only $38 (all the other ones I saw were much more expensive. it was the best price and he just brought it to my place the day of the extermination). He came on time and even though my roommates weren't quite ready he was very patient and waited till we had all our linens bagged up. He did a great job. more

My wife and I believed we had an immaculately clean and tidy apartment and were extremely shocked (after my son and wife were bitten) to find we had a bedbug problem during the winter. We treated our home with a pest control company and I was a bit apprehensive in regards to their treatment. It turns out I was right, after a few months, the problems returned and was worse. Positive Pest Management was recommended to my wife and me after having unsuccessful winter treatment with that other company. Positive Pest Management emailed us a preparation list before treatment. It contained instructions (some important prerequisites that help facilitate the treatment process) to prep our apartment for proper treatment. They even offered contacts for service companies that specialize in pest control pre-treatment prepping, and laundry pickup and fumigation. After prepping our apartment, a specialist arrived, meticulously inspected the rooms and furniture for problem areas. The treatment process was rigorous, where every opening, seam, crack and crevice was thoroughly treated. I was surprised how well the treatment was because of my last experience, and even learned of problem areas that I wouldn’t have expected otherwise. I would recommend Positive Pest Management for any New Yorker who is trying to find the right solution to their bedbug problem. more

When a health care worker for an elderly friend who is under my charge discovered bed bugs a drama unfolded that I pleased to report turned out very well thanks to Benett and his team's expertise. The apartment was heat treated ,the health workers apartments were checked for infestation,and the entire operation was conducted with a professionalism that is much appreciated when trouble comes. more

This is our second experience with bed bugs, unfortunately. Last time we picked a firm that advertised "natural" methods using steam. They did use steam on the coach, but they soaked our bedroom with poison, and barely grunted when we asked for explanations. We had to have them come back twice, since they did such a bad job. This time around I was determined to get someone better, and positive pest came recommended by another exterminator. The guy who came was courteous and explained everything. He was extremely through, and sprayed in all crevices. When he was all done, the apartment was cleaner than when he came in, because he swept and vacuumed, too! I also really liked the list of what we had to do, that really helped us to prepare, and has been invaluable in educating our downstairs tenants in how to avoid getting the bedbugs back again. more

Our building had an outbreak of bedbugs. We privately hired Positive Pest to come in to my apt. to prevent possible spread of bed bugs from others' apartments into ours. Bennett the head of the company personally spoke with us and checked in to make sure all was being done. He sent his staff the next day to come and help us protect our family of 3 children and a dog. He spoke at length with us as to what I needed to do as well as the cost. Positive Pest was worth every cent! we really lucked out with pulling a pest control company from from the web out of desparation. My family was getting bitten daily and thought it was a mosquitoe problem. they came to our house and identitfied we had a bed bug issue. It was such a scary moment without knowing where a how to tackle this problem. The staff was wonderful in walking us through step by step what needed to happen and made us feel really comfortable that this issue will be taken care of. The technician was highly knowledgeable and was able to calm our nerves. I love how responsive they were and will always got back to me.
