Mitch is a first class, professional installer who worked quickly and installed our Home Depot water tank. He answered any questions we had and explained everything he fixed. ...

I ask how much. They said $329 + permit + other fees on the phone. On the day of installation, the final price came to $858. That's all most 3 times as much. I found out a dr...

Good work! Very Fast! 4/6/2009

I made a couple of calls. The rep from Fast water heaters was very nice on the phone. He was very thorough and asked me some detailed questions. Their price was a bit higher than the other 2 companies-I felt better with Fast and opted to pay the extra money. I'd rather have it done right. Their guy was here within 2 hours and I had hot water again 2 hours after he arrived. He was nice and easy to talk to. Gave me a bid and did the work. I would recommend. Didn't give them 5 stars as they were a bit more $. more

Just got my tankless heater and lovin' it 3/14/2009

Let me start by saying I am also a business owner who relies on these reviews from this site and sites like it to help generate business. Given today's tough times, if I find a good company I want to get the word out, hoping someone will do the same in return for me and my business. Fast came to my home yesterday and gave me a bid for a new tankless heater. I chose them for 2 reasons: 1) The sales woman on the phone made me aware of a tax rebate and she was knowledgeable and 2) they pull permits and don't work under the table. I opted to go for their bid and they came back today to put it in. After the rebate from Obama and another rebate from the gas co., the difference was only $700. I posted another review for these guys on another website, so if it looks familiar, yes that is me. I am so happy with their service that I thought I should review them here too. My advice: Do your homework. Call around. Read reviews. But be very WARY of any company who does NOT offer up a permit if one is needed. Trust me: you don't want to skip this step. I am battling my insurance company on paying out a damage claim-their reason for not paying me-the contractor who did the work did NOT pull a permit!!!! Call Fast if you need help with your heater. And go with a tankless heater-this is the only way to go! more

High quality 3/11/2009

I got two bids - one from Washington Water Heaters and one from Fast Water Heaters. I liked them both. Fast came in a little bit lower but also they had a slot that was convenient. They cleaned up, and the work looks good. I paid $1,232 all in including the water heater. They did put an expansion tank on which I was a little doubtful of but when I researched it - I think it was the right call... more

Did a nice job for me 3/11/2009

Saw this review set but also found others on service magic, Angie's list and insider pages where more people had positive experiences. They did a nice job for me. Same day. Quality work. I had it inspected and it passed and inspector said that the work was high quality. Get what you pay for I think. more

Brother-in-law (plumber) gave thumbs up 3/3/2009

These guys installed a new water heater for me. All in the cost was $1,200. They didn't begin work until they gave me a firm quote on site. My brother in law who is a plumber came for my wife's birthday and said it was professional and that the things they recommended (expansion tank) would increase life of the heater. Guy cleaned up too. Good experience on what was a bad day - not much fun to wake up to no hot water... more

Positive experience 2/9/2009

I guess I agree with the positive reviewers on this site. They were very upfront and told me they couldn't give me a total price until they came and did a site survey. I wanted it done right and this company made sure everything was up to code. I got my permit in the mail and am going to call for inspection this week. All in I paid $1100 for everything. It looks professional and the guy who put it in (Matt) cleaned up. I would use again. more

You get what you pay for!! 2/8/2009

My neighbor had his water heater changed out last month and I knew that I would need to do mine soon. I walked over to his unit and checked it out. Now, I am no plumber, but it looked like crap. He said he only paid $150 for a handyman to throw it in and be bought the tank at Home Depot. I decided to go to HD and have them do it. They contract with Fast Water Heater and I was impressed with guys from the first phone call. The rep on the phone was friendly and knowledgeable. They had a guy to my house that same day. Now, I know that I paid 2x as much as my neighbor, but I can say they did a great job. The tank is strapped to the wall, the pipes are insulated and the tank is an Energy Star tank. I think I am doing my part to be "green." You get what you pay for. If you want a crappy looking job and are cheap, call a handyman. If you want it done right, give these guys a call. more

Professional and Clean 1/29/2009

Hard Sell 5/16/2007

Paid $250 for installation. Then paid through the nose for the rest of the installation, which was way overpriced. Wound up paying 3 times the cost of the original installation charge. I felt cheap and used after the install (and broke). They did have the courtesy to call before they were late. But then came on the late side of the new time they gave me. Had to pay a stairs charge after assisting the guy with carrying it down the stairs. Was told I would have to wait for the next day if I didn't help carry it down the stairs! Not exactly a company I will do business with again. The technician was nice enough. more

Fast Water Heater 4/12/2007

I recently had the chance to use the services of Fast Water Heater. I found them to be incredibly prompt, professional and reliable and we were totally pleased with both the actual work they performed and the manner in which they did their work. I highly recommend them. more

Professional, done right and same day 3/16/2007

We had our hot water heater replaced when white flakes started coming out and clogging up our sinks and shower head. We actually had never used this site before and were not going to call this company due to another review but Fast was the only one able to come out same day. At first we were a little surprised at total cost, so we actually sent them away and took an estimate and had two other companies come out over the next two days (we stayed at my mom's for a night while the water was out...). After the other two companies came out we actually decided to go BACK to Fast. Cost was in line with the other guys and they were more professional. We also thought they would do a safer installation. Since we took a two days to get this done - we did some web research (that's how we found this site...) and learned that there are more unintentional injuries and deaths every year due to water heaters than any other home appliance. We have three small children and I wanted to be sure the work was done correctly. This company's technician was very professional. They did all of the work up to current code, pulled a permit for us. We did install straps and we also installed a little tank on top of the heater to be up to code. I'm sure you can get it done cheaper but given the safety issues - I wanted professional. And, based on the three companies we saw, cost was more or less in line. more

not very customer friendly 12/4/2006

We ordered a water heater from Home depot and fast water heater was the installer. They came and gave us an additional estimate which was the same price as what we paid home depot. When we told them no, they charged us the trip charge! They have no sense of customer service, and at least Home depot returned the full cost and the service charge from this installer. I would stay away from them if I can. more

Don't be sucked in with this company! 11/20/2006

The previous reviewer is correct! They WAY overcharge you for installation! And when you have a problem with the install, they want to charge you another $99.00 service call to come out1 My recommendation- STAY FAR AWAY! more

Didn't deliever! 11/7/2006

Yes, they are fast but they did not install the water heater requested. We specifically asked that they install an energy-efficient natural gas heater and stated that we were willing to pay extra when they told us they had a cheaper one, because we wanted to promote the use of energy efficient appliances. I specifically stated that the gas water heater needed to have an energy factor of at least 0.62 or higher…they quoted us a price of a water heater with a EF of 0.62... well it turns out that they actually installed a much cheaper water heater will a lower EF rating but still charged the same price. more

Full of overpriced unnecessary add-ons 10/23/2006

I bought a hot water heater from Home Depot and Fast Water Heater was the contract installer. Starting in 2003 water heaters needs to be fastened to the wall in case of an earthquake. I had already paid $55 for the earthquake fastening kit. Upon arrival I was told that special concrete bolts would be needed to secure the strap to the basement concrete wall. The price was $19 per bolt for a total of $76. I found this pricing extremely unreasonable. The installers admitted that the bolts could be purchased at the store for $5 a box. They also wanted to charge extra to replace the existing galvanized overflow pipe with a PVC one. While galvanized piping is outdated, it works just fine for overpressure relief. I felt that the whole transaction was full of overpriced or unnecessary add-ons. more
