First of all, Robyn is an absolutly talented and professional curly hair EXPERT!!! I've been cared for by her since the Spring and can't say enough about how much beauty and joy she is able to bring out in my hair! I've had the DeVa cut method, hydration, full color, and style at least three times and I've never been dissapointed! As for the salon in general, from the receptionists to the owner, the attention to detail both in their environment and how they treat their clients is top notch! more

I had my first Curltopia experience this past week, and I am more than happy with the service I received. I relocated to Georgia from Virginia about two weeks ago, and my first order of business was to find a hair salon to car for my natural hair. I found Curltopia's information on the Miss Jessie's website. Scheduling my first appointment was very easy: I called approximately one week before the day I wanted to get my hair done and I was able to get an appointment on the date I wanted. When I arrived at the salon, there was practically no wait time before my stylist Giselle greeted me and began working on my hair. Giselle talked me through everything that she did to my hair: giving me recommendations on the treatments my hair needed, styling tips, and product recommendations. She showed me exactly how to care for my hair in-between appointments, from how to style my hair to how much product to use on my hair. I can't wait for my next appointment...and I HIGHLY recommend this salon (and Giselle) to anyone who is searching for a hair care specialist! more

My appointment was on 8/16/11. I arrived about 20 minutes early and my stylist, Jordan, was able to take me right away. I was so happy not to have to wait. more

I had a amazing experience at Curltopia 7/21/11!! I knew it was going to be great when I made the phone call. The representative "" You're going to be with Jay, and you're in great hands!! There's nothing better than confirmation when you really don't how the outcome is going to be. I was a little nervous but Jennifer (Jay's assistant) was so polite and professional, she even relaxed my nerves by offering me a cup of water. My appointment was with Jay and it started on time, and she took the time to explain everything I needed to know. She gave me a list of recommended products on when and how to use the products ( Deva no poo, Jane carter, Mixed chicks, Miss Jessie's Curly pudding & baby buttercreme) to maintain healthly looking hair. A special ""THANK YOU"" goes out to Jay for a job well done!!! I absolutely loved my hair and will be coming back. :) Blessed more

I really enjoyed Curltopia. First of all I didn't have to wait. Salons/stylists who aren't respectful of my time is a deal breaker. Everyone was nice and courteous. Once I was under the dryer they continued to check on me and offered me a beverage. My stylist was Giselle. She was very thorough. She explained everything she did and gave me recommendations on how to care for my hair between appointments. I loved my hair and I will definitely be back. more

With hopes of liberating myself of day-to-day hair maintenance challenges, I embarked on the ""natural hair journey"" about 2 1/2 yrs ago. What I found was that, while I loved the new found healthiness of my crop, it became increasingly more and more difficult to manage and maintain. I visited Curltopia with hopes of finding a stylists who made me feel comfortable, was knowledgeable about natural haircare & what I specifically needed to do to maintain my hair type, as well as someone who could make recommendations on how to do self-styling. Luckily, I found ALL of this in Brittany. She was very pleasant and gave me great advise on how to treat my hair. I wanted a new look, so I decided on honey blond highlights, and have gotten rave reviews about her work! The salon was very nice and clean and everyone seemed very professional. I would definitely recommend the salon and Brittany for your next natural hair salon experience :) more

I had an amazing visit to Curltopia. I was a wash and go and flat iron girl since I went natural 5 years ago. My appointment with Jordan started on time. She explained my assessed my hair and explained my style options. After deciding on flat twists, Jordan walked me through product recommendations. Once my twist out was styled, Jordan instructed me on how to care for my twists. I immediately made my follow up appointment for 2 weeks. more

I like how Jay does my hair. She helped me through the Big Chop and gave me the tools I needed to keep my hair looking good. Also the salon atmosphere is relaxing. I would recommend this salon and Jay to anyone looking for a natural hair stylist! more

Just moved to HOTLANTA. Super angst about my curly hair but my stylist Brittany made it all ok. I did get the Deva cut and so far LOVE the results. My hair actually has a shape and looks moisturized and manageable. I found out Friday I have a job interview on Tuesday and took a chance that I might get in. Got lucky and they worked me in on Saturday. Trying to remain economical, I wished I had gotten the regular cut instead of Deva cut. Wonder what is the cut diff? But seriously very satisfied and feel confident to land the job. Previously I felt I had a black sheep on top of my head, now it feels like a lamb. Thank-you Brittany! I'm not big on blogging...but I'm writing this review because I want to save people the anxiety I went through trying to figure out where to go to learn about my hair. First off..I did the big chop at another salon and my hair wasn't cut in a style...but cut because my original destination was locs. I came to this salon from a friends recommendation and I was very pleased with my visit. From start to finish, I was pleased with everything. Stacey cut my hair in a really cute style and explained what she was doing to my hair in order to teach me how to do it when I got home. I was so afraid my hair was going to be thick and unmanageable...but it wasn't. Stacey told me about my curl pattern and the products she was using and why. At the end of my visit..at checkout...I received a personalized hair maintenance sheet so I could remember everything we went over. Overall, I am very pleased with this salon and my stylists. I made a follow-up appointment! more

I just moved to the Atlanta area and I've had so much anxiety about where to get my hair done. Women know the sometimes finding the right salon and stylist can be just as hard as finding a job! Well, I decided to start my search with Google. Immediately Curltopia popped up and I read some of the reviews and looked at the website. It seemed very similar to Miss Jessie's in NYC. Also, I was happy that they used all of the products I have used on my curly hair. I called and made an appt but then called back again to see if I could be fit in with Brittany on same day. Luckily she had just had a cancellation so I was ecstatic to see if the salon could measure up to all of the online ""hype"" it was getting. Being a biracial female that has always struggled with curly hair, I KNEW Brittany was going to have to be good to manage this. I walked in and was greeted, filled out short form and sat to wait for Brittany. She greeted me in no time. Immediately she was asking questions about my hair and any issues. Some questions she already knew the answers. She was knowledgeable and very friendly. She explained what she was doing and why. I was placed under the dreaded hairdryer, but Brittany repeatedly came over to check on me and make sure I was melting! Lol. She showed me how to manage my frizz and my hair in this new weather. The best thing of all...I mentioned that I wanted a certain style and color just in conversation, Brittany looked up the photo online and looked for the color options while I was under the dryer! She already had things together for my next appt. Awesome! My hair turned out great, looks healthy and moisturized, and I'm happy to have found a great salon. Returning next week for my color!!! more

I had the pleasure of visiting this sophisticated salon on 7/20 and it was amazing. I was promptly greeted and offered a beverage. The staff was very professional and friendly. Jordan is my stylist and she took her time to educated me on everything that she did to my hair. She also provided me with a list of personalized hair care products along with directions on how to maintain my healthy hair. Curltopia exceeded my expectations and even though I spent more that I had planned, the ambience, professionalism, and education I received was well worth every penny. Needless to say my next appointment is 8/3. Thanks Curltopia. more

I've been ""going natural"" for about 2 years now, but this summer after going to curltopia I've done away with braids, twist, and sow-ins. Jay was excellent she was very informative and friendly. My hair looks and feels healthly. Before leaving Jay wrote out a maintence outline for me. The salon is professional and welcoming. If your nice Jay may sing with you. more

I was very apprehensive about getting my hair done when I first went to Curltopia. Wearing my hair natural has been a hard transition. Aliyah definitely made this transition smooth. The whole experience was very professional and the staff made me feel at ease. I recommend Curltopia to anyone who needs to be educated about maintenance of natural hair and the leading styling products on the market! more

I had the best experience from the moment I walked in the door. I was greeted immediately upon entering the salon. the atmosphere was very warm and friendly. Which put me right at ease, because I was very nervous about what I was about to do with my hair! My stylist Jay and her assistant Jennifer were great. Jay was very knowledgeable about the process of transitioning from the perm to natural hair.. I liked that she assessed my hair after a wash and deep condition and recommended the products to main the look. I received many, many compliments on my new hair style. off top, I entered a beautifully decorated salon with a great atmosphere. I checked in at the counter and settled in for the wait that always occurs at hair salons...except there was no wait. I was seated immediately in Giselle's chair and we uncovered my massive hair and made small talk about what I wanted from my visit. I was then whisked away to the shampoo bowl for a thorough wash, deep condition and detangling. Again I sat in Giselle's hair and she explained EVERY step of the process of finger styling my hair. She was teaching and styling all at the same time. At the end I received a list of products to purchase to achieve the same look at home, along with instructions on use! The absolute only reason I can't give 5 stars is the price...but you get what you pay for ;-) more

This was my first experience with Curltopia in Smyrna. When I arrived, I was pleasantly surprised by the ambiance -- quite chic! My next worry was how long was I going to sit before my appointment time. I was again surprised that there was a minimal wait time. That was enough to make me want to return. Everyone was friendly and most of all, professional. Now on to my hair..... I must say first of all, I am pleased with my hair cut and style, particularly since I have very curly/kinky hair. Hence, I most certainly will be a repeat customer. BUT!!!!! Be warned, if you are one who thinks that beautiful natural hair should be at a low price, you may want to stick with what you are doing now... if that works for you. It's not cheap. But what price would you place on being pleased with your hair and the products you use to maintain your new doo.... While I think my price was a bit high, I'm happy and if I have to roll pennies to ""get my hair did"", then so be it! I'll probably cut out eating out as well.... juggle a few things :-) more

I have had my hair natural for a long time. I like the way Giselle make my hair nice and soft. I just wish they had a Senior Citizen discount. more

I've been natural for a little over a month and would not know what to do without my Stylist Giselle! She is very patient and educational about my hair. I only wish the prices were affordable, but you get what you pay for:) more
