OH MY GOSH!!!! So I was one of those natural girls that thought because I was natural, I didn't have to get my hair done - Besides who knows my hair better than I do RIGHT?. Well I have never been more wrong. I went to curltopia a week ago and it seemed Giselle new my hair as if it was on her head for 30 years and not mine. I love the atmosphere, the customer service; but most importantly I loved the knowledge that I took with me regarding my hair. It's been a week now and I put to test the routine that Giselle gave me and IT WORKED!!! I've been natural for 4 years now and have never gotten so many compliments. I made my first appointment with Curltopia Salon for ?The Big Chop.? I was especially grateful to get an appointment a day in advance. I received a reminder phone call two days in advance. When I arrived, I was greeted and had minimal to no wait to get started on my hair. I was a little reluctant, but the staff made me feel comfortable. The shop was clean and neat. I was offered a beverage on several occasions and had all my questions answered. There was even reading material for while I was under the dryer. Everyone was involved in my hair education. It did not matter if I was his/her client or not. When the style was done, I left with a hair prescription (list of products that was used on my hair and how to use them). This was especially helpful so that I would not forget. After that, I thought I would experiment on my own. I was still missing some things evident by the results that I was getting, so I made another appointment. Fast forward 8 months later, I had my second visit. I still received the same excellent customer service, appointment reminder, hair prescription, and had all my questions answered. In my mind I wondered why I ever stopped coming. I am extremely satisfied. Since going back, I have been able to style my hair between visits. I know that I am doing something right because complete strangers have asked questions about my hair. My stylist Giselle is amazing!!! I happily recommend Curltopia and give this salon a thumbs up. Oh yeah and they don?t just specialize in natural hair. They do it all. Who could ask for more? more

Had my first visit to Curltopia today. My stylist was Giselle and she was very professional and informative. I have finally decided to give up braids and have sworn off relaxers (hopefully forever!) but was questioning my ability to stay the course with this natural thing. After my Curltopia experience I am now excited and motivated again. more

Had the Keratin Treatment done for the 2nd time by Brittany & she did a great job both times. She was very polite & offered me a bottle of water each time I visited. The Salon is really nice & The Staff are all really polite & professional. They also sale the products that they use on your hair which is great! I will definitely recommend Brittany & Curltopia to anybody looking to have healthy natural hair....Cant wait to visit for My follow up tomorrow! more

My first visit to Curltopia was really great. My stylist was Jay. She was very friendly and went out of her way to make me extremely comfortable. She took her time to wash, treat and style my hair. I felt so relaxed and my hair came out really nice. I got so many compliments with regards to my hair. I definitely will be going back there to get my hair done. more

I have been to Curltopia 4 times now. The first two times were not too great, but the last two I was recommended to Robin. She is amazing!! I knew about the Deva cut and their products, but had never had them fully explained. Each time I go, Robin tells me something new about Deva and the benefits of the cut and the products are. She is always very sweet, informative, and helpful! I have recommended her to many curly haired people and will continue to do so. I love the atmosphere of the salon, customer service has always been good I was offered a beverage several times, and I think I've covered everything else! A side note: I live in Dalton, Georgia. I drive about 100 miles 1 way to get my hair cut about 4 times a year. But she is worth it! more

I have been to this salon many times and I find each time that it is a experience second to none. I enjoy the music and the services that are provided. I received a color on my halo (however I did not think that I should have been charge $60 to have the front of my hair colored). So the next time I will have it completely done. I recently did the big chop and wasn't quite sure how to care for my hair. I went to Curltopia and was very pleased with the salon. The atmosphere is very relaxing yet professional. My stylist, Stacy is awesome and did a wonderful job with the consultation and explaining each step she was taking as she was styling my hair. She suggested product and gave great information about caring for my hair at home. I will definitely be back again! more

Curltopia's the salon I've been looking for since my hair went curly more than 20 years ago. A relaxed but stylish atmosphere, professional and friendly service, and stylists who know how to work with curly hair make this my at-last salon home. I ended up at Curltopia by following my stylist, Giselle, there. She is awesome and the Curltopia atmosphere was consistent with the level of professionalism to which I have grown accustomed. I have super thick kinky hair and Giselle glides through it with ease, leaving my curls hydrated, healthy and happy! more

Curltopia is just another salon... don't be fooled by their website like i was! -- Did the salon atmosphere meet my standards? Yes. -- How was my customer service? Poor. -- Was I offered a beverage? No -- Did my stylist educate me about my hair? No. -- Did they explain how to use the correct products for my hair type? No. -- Did my hair service exceed my expectations? Not in the least. If you visit the ""services"" page on their site, you'll notice the headline states, ""All of our services include a shampoo, complimentary deep conditioning treatment, consultation, the service, a prescription of the products we hand-selected specifically for you, and instructions on how to maintain your hair at home."" Here's what i received: a shampoo, complimentary deep conditioning treatment, and the service. I did not get a consultation, prescription of products, nor instructions for home-maintenance; this is very upsetting since the ONLY reason I visited Curltopia was to receive a consultation. Not only did I make this clear to the young lady at the front desk, I also told my stylist (who never even told me her name) before she started my hair. While she did a nice two-strand twist, and told me what products she was using on my hair, she failed to clarify whether I should try these products at home. In fact, she failed to give me any advice on my hair-type and how to care for it. Furthermore, after she was finished with my two-strand twist (a process which took FIVE HOURS?!), I had to ASK her questions about the style. As I was checking out with the lady at the front desk, she suggested some products, but none that would specifically cater to my hair. So, I ended up purchasing a pricey tub of curl creme that doesn't seem to be doing much for my tresses. I expected to walk out of Curltopia with more knowledge about my curls and how to care for them, but honestly, I feel as though I'm right where I started: frustrated. On another note, the atmosphere was clean and pleasant, and it didn't smell of pressed/relaxed hair like many salons do. Even though I was never offered any, they had fresh coffee and tea available to patrons; also, everyone wasn't talking/chatting/gossiping like the salons i'm used to. Nonetheless, Curltopia doesn't specialize in educating their consumers about their hair; they specialize in STYLING natural hair. The stylists do a great job or styling, but THAT'S ALL THEY DO - DO NOT GO TO CURLTOPIA EXPECTING A ""CONSULTATION""... you'll be disappointed. more

After reading tons of reviews and a few bad experiences, I decided to give Curltopia a visit. First let me mention that I am in transition. It had been seven months since my last perm. I want to be 100%natural but fear the BC. My stylist was Jay, who I later found out was a junior stylist. After my consultation, I learned that I was not ready for the BC because even though I had not had a perm I still had straight ends from flat ironing. Ladies be warned, I was schooled on the real meaning of natural. My hair has never looked or felt so shiny. It usually looks nappy and hard after shampooing. I can go on and on but I will not. I am very satisfied with my experience at Curltopia. I don?t now the rating system but Jay is a master in my book. I am now ready for the BC since I had no idea of the potential that my hair has. more

I have visited Curltopia twice for service: once for a trim and press and second (today) for highlights and finger style. I have been quite pleased with both experiences. They use top quality styling products for curly hair and offer an annual buy one get one event on Miss Jessie?s. The stylist, Aliyah, was patient and helpful in answering my questions. The environment was relaxing and professional. more

This salon is awful!!! I have long relaxed hair. I have been looking for a stylist since my wonderful stylist has moved. When I called I specifically asked if there was anyone there who specialized in relaxed hair. I was told yes and my appointment was made with Jai/Jay. To start I did not even get a true consultation. Then my hair was shampooed only one time. Highly unacceptable. Anyone who knows how to do hair should know that the hair needs to be shampooed at least twice and ESPECIALLY if the client has dandruff like myself. Then she didn't even want to blow dry my hair. I sat under the dryer so long that I eventually turned it off and sat there with wet hair. If you see that a client has thick hair you should know that sitting under the dryer will NOT dry the hair as quickly as a hand held blow dryer. Ridiculous. After she blow dried my hair with the hand held blow dryer she then ""notices"" my dandruff yet puts NOTHING on my scalp. If you are promoting healthy hair and a healthy scalp wouldn't you want to put something on it? Finally when we get to the flat ironing stage, I told her I wanted my hair bone straight. But of course, I left with fluffy curly hair and more dandruff than what I came in with. UTTERLY RIDICULOUS! If you don't know how to take care of relaxed hair SAY so when potential clients call!!!!! I wasted time, money, and now I have a more itchy and dry scalp. more

I started going to Curltopia about 4 months ago. I have natural hair and decided that I wanted to get a press to see what it looked like straight. I was scheduled to see one stylist but when I got there my stylist was changed to Aliah ... which must have been my lucky day because she did a fabulous job and I received numerous compliments on my hair. I am extremely tender headed and was nervous about getting my hair straightened, but there was no pain at all. Aliah is a great stylist and needless to say I have been going for the last 4 months whether I need a finger style or want to get my hair straightened. In addition, the atmosphere of the salon is great and front desk staff are always pleasant and kind. If you are looking for a natural hair care salon that educates you about your hair, get's you in and out with a great atmosphere I would recommend Curltopia and of course my wonderful stylist Aliah. more

Jay thank you for making my hair sing! This was my 1st time at a salon that I my curl was so soft and so defined. I appreciate how Jay talked about all the products she used on my hair as well as the sheet outlining how to maintain my style at home. The atmosphere and staff were wonderful. I have been to Curltopia a few times, and as always, my most recent trip to Curltopia was wonderful. The atmosphere is always very pleasant. I always receive great customer service, the staff are very professional, the salon is clean , and I am always extremely happy with my hair-do. more

Recently I went to Curltopia and got my hair done. The salon was very clean, pleasant, and most importantly quiet. The customer service was way beyond more than I could ask for. As soon as I enter I was greeted by the receptionist, offered something to drink, and my wait time to getting my hair done was less than five minutes. Although I was there for two hours I felt my stylist took her time and gave my hair the care it needed. I hate how sometimes I go to other salons and they try and rush through my hair because they have others waiting. I didn?t feel rush at all while my stylist did my hair. My stylist was able to answer all the questions I asked about my hair. She also was able to point me in the right direction of the products that would be good for my hair while I transition to become natural. Overall the service exceed my expectation because I felt like I actually mattered where as I normally don?t in other salons. In other salons I feel like just another head getting done. Curltopia will defiantly be getting my service again. more

Had my first appt on Thursday and before Aliah even finished shampooing my hair, I knew I would definitely be back! I even stopped her while she was poo'ng and told her I would! I've been natural for almost 4.5 years and never has anyone taken the time to wash my hair as gently as she did. She also did a wonderful rod set on my hair that I absolutely love. She even took the time to give me tips to make my style last. I've received numerous compliments on it. I also love that Curltopia uses a wide selection of hair products that have developed specifically for natural hair. Now that I know my hair loves Miss Jessie's products, I intend to purchase some for use at home. Can't wait until my next appt in January! more
