Okay, bad bad bad bad news... Called in and asked if he had used screens for my lappy (screen was cracked( and he said 'I definitely have it, i have everything Toshiba.'\r
\r
I bring it in, and he shows me like 3 huge shelves full of used toshiba lappy screens, but says 'oh yours is too new, we need to order a new one' -- My computer was purchased the day after thanksgiving of 2006, and i took this thing in in January 08, and its too new. right\r
\r
Then i saw a tech who was talking to a cust. after just looking at his computer, and the owner (Jacob) calls tech into the backroom with a series of urgent hand gestures, and then starts explaining something in whispering tones at about 10000 miles an hour- then when tech walked away, Jacob makes an offhanded comment (for all to hear) about the guys girlfriend. Sorry, but thats not what you were just talking about...\r
\r
Stupidly, I left comp anyway and then got it back, and 2 months later, screen goes white. He charges me to look at it again (which seemed like he shouldnt have) then says its a monitor cable, that has been 'cut/pulled out' (per the work order)... then charges again to fix that. Well which one was it i wonder, doesnt seem like it could be both cut AND pulled...hmm...\r
\r
Then i get the thing back, and now all of a sudden, the speakers stop working within days. I totally don't think this guys on the up and up, and he's rude on top of it, as the complaints say.\r
\r
Now what he didnt know is that even though i walk around in an old hoodie and sandals alot, I am an attorney, and i dont appreciate getting ripped off, and would like to let everyone know that if they are suspicious about this businesses practices/treatment of them, there is legal recourse in the form of a class action claim (if there are enough people)-you can get $ back + more (if entitled).\r
\r
Please email me at timetosnuffit@yahoo. if you have a similar story, I would like to learn more about this guys business practices and/or hear similar stories.
