My dress was ruined by The Wedding Shoppe 3 weeks prior to my wedding 7/11/2008

I am sharing this experience so other women are aware of what could happen at the Wedding Shoppe. Pros: They were close to my home Cons: Horrible alteration department and customer service more

What Shopping Should Be! 7/5/2008

After going to several dress shops and never thinking I was going to find a dress, I finally found the dress of my dreams at The Wedding Shoppe. I went on a Thursday night and it was rather busy, but the service I recieved was terrific. The sales lady knew exactly what to pull for me and was so helpful in finding me the right dress. I really felt a connection with my sales lady and I could tell she was not just trying to sell me a dress. She was interested in my wedding and how I wanted to look on my day. This store is awesome. I liked how they had beautiful dresses and they were reasonable in price. This is was shopping should be like. I am so happy I found my dress. Once more thing checked off the neverending list! more

Amazing Experience 7/3/2008

After visiting two other bridal shops and seeing the same things at all of them, my last hope was The Wedding Shoppe. I am having a destination wedding and looking for something that was more non-traditional. They had a really nice selection of dresses and my consultant was incredible.. She was so helpful and gave me great feedback and helped me narrow down my choices. After trying on several styles I finally found ""THE ONE""! My experience at the Wedding Shoppe was great, I would highly reccommend this store. I took a quick sweep through the bridesmaids department after my bridal appointment and they have a huge selection of bridesmaids dresses. I spoke with a salesgirl in the bridesmaids area and she was helpful in showing me a couple of styles. Pros: Great selection and Service Cons: Limited Parking more

Poor Service, Overly Crowded, No Sense of Selection 6/30/2008

I've been to TWS years ago when I was in a wedding and the experience was great, how things have changed! You aren't treated nicely, appointments are timed, dress helper pulled the opposite of what I asked for, you have no sense of what designer you are trying on. If you've been to a few of the little shops and know exactly what you want, then MAYBE go during a week night. Otherwise you will be pushed around like cattle and have to fight for time to use the mirror, even though you made an apt a month before! My dress helper pulled all my dresses, dresses that weren't what I asked for at all and made me try them on, then with a room still full of dresses told me my time was up. It was rude, especially since she was wasting my time with dresses I didn't want to try on. Then you get pressured to make a decision. Pros: Um, Nothing! Cons: Appointments, Too Crowded, Rude Service, Secretive about Designers & Prices more

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! 5/28/2008

I will never recommend or step foot in The Wedding Shoppe again! The staff is uncontrollably rude, and unwilling to assist. The staff over schedules appointments, which you have to have to go there, so that the brides have to WAIT IN LINE TO USE A MIRROR!! When we finally did get into the store, the staff had written down the incorrect dress numbers so we had to spend an hour looking through the bridesmaids dresses to find the correct 2 dresses. No staff member helped us look or find out where the problem occured. Wedding-wear is never cheap, and you expect that you get what you pay for. The dresses we found at The Wedding Shoppe were 15% more expensive than David's Bridal and we received TOP OF THE LINE service at their store. Wedding planning is stressfull enough. If you want to avoid having the worst experience in Minnesota don't go there. If you travel about a mile down the road you will get THE SERVICE YOU SHOULD EXPECT AND WAY MORE at L'Atelier Couture (formerly Amy Jane Bridal). They will make sure that you don't leave wanting to strangle anyone. DO NOT GO TO THE WEDDING SHOPPE!!! Pros: A good place to start if you don't need any service Cons: Absolutely everything else more

very poor experience 5/27/2008

I had a really poor experience here with my bridemaids dresses. I had a picture of a dress I had brought with me when we went to pick out the dresses. We were told they did not have a sample of that exact dress but that they had the strapless version that we could try on. The dress we were shown and tried on had a chiffon skirt. The dress I had brought the picture of had a tuelle skirt (which you could not see from the picture becuase it was very small and there was no description). We were NOT told the skirts were different so when the dresses arrived it was a very big and dissapointing surprise. The tuelle version of the dress is very unflattering and not what I wanted. We were expecting a chiffon skirt becuase that was what we were shown in the store. I made a complaint and brought the dresses back and the wedding shoppe did nothing. Their response to me was that we were shown a tuelle skirt the day we were there which is not true. All six of my bridesmaids have attested otherwise. There is NO doubt that we were shown chiffon. Pros: they have a very big selection Cons: very poor service more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE - RUDE STAFF 5/6/2008

Be prepared to be treated like you are an inconvenience. I found my dream dress here but they did not help to find it at all. My friends and I had to search on our own. Pros: great gowns, location is convenient Cons: rude staff, poor service, never on time more

Loved this Place!!! 4/20/2008

I have always wanted to buy my dress from this store because I have heard such great things about this shoppe.. I went on a Thursday evening and tried on about 20 dresses and ended up buying the 2nd dress I tried on. I felt their service was excellent and their selection was unbeatable. I had visited three other bridal shops in the twin cities, Macys, Raffines, and Angeliques and I felt like my experience The Wedding Shoppe was the best. I recieved undivided attention and felt very comfortable. I would highly reccommend this store to other brides in search of their wedding dress. I am sooooooooo happy!!! Pros: Great selection and service Cons: limited parking more

Good selection RUDE STAFF 4/11/2008

The day I was there to find my wedding dress my apt. started out nicely but soon I was feeling rushed and the sales woman who was supposed to be helping me was off helping 3 other girls at the same time. I ended up waiting a while for help and eventually doing most of it on my own. I did however find a dress I wanted for a GREAT price. more

Fantastic!!!!!!!!!!! 3/17/2008

I had an absolutely amazing experience at The Wedding Shoppe. I know plenty of people that haven't had a good experience and I expect to not have an awesome one when I pick up the dress, but I had such a great time that I wish I could do it again! I had the wedding gown manager, Cathy, helping me find a dress. She coudln't have possibly been any better than she was. She was friendly, knowledgable, helpful, funny and directed all her attention to my group. I know this place gets a bad rap sometimes, but if you are able to request to work with Cathy, you will not be sorry! I did go about a year ago to find a dress for my cousin as well, and we had a great experience then too (can't remember the name of the girl that helped us then). I visited a few other places that I thought were very nice and had good experiences at as well, but I hands down had the most fantastic experience here and would recommend it to everyone. Pros: Service, Selection, Location Cons: People that were allowed to bring kids, whining bridezillas more

BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE 2/3/2008

My experience was great purchasing the dress, but when it was time to pick up the dress, it was AWFUL! The staff was rude. While changing in the dressing room to try on my dress, a staff member actually entered my room to put out another dress in preparation for the next bride! RUDE! In addition to that the person at the counter bagging my dress handled my beaded dress inappropriately. I will never shop there again! RUDE RUDE RUDE. more

Found a BEAUTIFUL Dress! 1/14/2008

I am so glad that I decided to visit the Wedding Shoppe on Grand. I worked with a lady named Carolyn and she was awesome. I am a size 18 and had a really hard time finding dresses to try on in my size. I visited other shops and they only had size 10-12 samples to try on. The Wedding Shoppe had a huge selection of dresses to try on in my size and it was awesome. My saleslady was super fun and very helpful. I found a beautiful dress and recieved great service. I visited 5 other shops in the Twin cities area and by far had the best experience at the Wedding Shoppe. I would highly reccommend this store to other brides. Pros: Great Service, Selection, Atmosphere more

Rude 12/13/2007

This store was not very helpful, they were rude and it seemed like they didnt care....i felt like a number. more

Not impressed 12/6/2007

I went there with an open mind after reading all the reviews. The young woman who helped my friend and myself was not helpful at all. She was cold and not friendly in any manner. She acted like she was wasting her time with me. She did not listen. She was not knowledgeable at all nor experienced. I was very disappointed with my time there. Pros: There is a parking lot Cons: Everything except for parking more

""Unforgettable and dishonest"" 10/30/2007

I found the perfect dress, a dress that was everything I imagined it would be. My sales associate was friendly and nice. I ordered my ""perfect dress"", a dress that was ordered a size bigger and two inches longer, what I received was everything but that. My dress was ordered in May and arrived in September, much to my disappointment it was two inches too short, just like the sample dress that I had tried on. The head of alterations came to my room and agreed that it was not the correct length, the length that was specified when ordering, another gown was ordered. The second gown came in and again it was too short, later I was told that the original dress that I tried on was the longest length, but the dresses had been coming in at different lengths and not their true length, ""not my problem"", was not informed this until the third dress was ordered. I asked to speak to a manager and emphasized the fact that this should be a ""happy moment"", I asked for a full refund, due to this being several reorders with no resolution on the length, she agreed, but then talked me into trying the dress on again, she brought in an alterations associate who said the dress fit perfect, except for the length, she agreed to alter the pickups on the dress to make it work, while the other associate wanted to order another size bigger for comparison. Needless to say they did not alter the other dress, I came to my appointment with the larger dress hanging , which was of coarse sloppy and big. Again, I said,""this has been an aweful experience and I want my money back, you have not fulfilled what you said you would do"", the wedding shoppe refused and put the responsibility back on me, stating ""you have a choice between the two dresses"", but neither were the proper dress in which they had given their word that it would be. Do not shop here if you want a memorable exprience for you as well as your family and friends! Management as well as the alterations staff were rude and dishonest. Pros: Friendly and informative sales associate when purchasing the dress! Cons: Very dishonest management as well as alterations staff. When complications arised, several different explanations were given, all very different, most importantly, management was rude! more

A Nightmare. Do.Not.Go.Here. I would give them negative stars if it was an option. 10/22/2007

I've never had such a negative experience with a company that I've actually taken the time to write a negative review to warn others, until now. The process of finding a wedding gown is supposed to be exciting & fun. Any bride deserves this. Against the advice of friends who've also had very negative experiences, I decided to give The Wedding Shoppe a try. I was told when making my appt. to bring in several pictures of styles I liked to help them find what I was looking for. I asked if they carried specific designers whos style I liked, and the girl on the phone said ""yes, many."" Pros: Can't think of one. Cons: Rude teenage staff, Too crowded, No variety in styles, Very impersonal. No manager on duty. more

Best Bridal Shop in the Twin Cities 9/7/2007

I am very pleased to say that I had a wonderful experience last week at the Wedding Shoppe. I worked with a saleswoman named Carolyn and she found exactly what I had wanted. She really listened to what I had in mind and helped me narrow down my choices. She was very involved in the whole process and made it really fun for my family and I. I would highly reccommend this store to other brides and felt their customer service was excellent. I have purchased three bridesmaids dresses from the store prior to my own wedding shopping and have to say that I recieved each dress in a timely manner, at a good price and had helpful people helping me, so it made sense that I shop their for my dress. Overall I think they have a great selection and a knowledgeable staff. Pros: Great selection and service more

Mixed Experience 9/2/2007

I have been to the Wedding Shoppe twice now - once for my wedding gown and once for my sister. I think they have a large selection of gowns at good prices. I also like the large mirror so you can see your dress from up close and far away. I do not like that the space is so small - the gowns are packed together in plastic bags, making it difficult to browse through them and to see anything about their shape. I went there most recently on a Friday afternoon, and I'm glad I had two people with me. The person assigned to assist me had to help someone else as well, so each time she came to check on me she seemed rushed. I think it is worth going here, but be wary of the level of service. Pros: Large number of gowns, big mirror to share with other brides Cons: Service, tight space, busy more

Couldn't Be Happier!! 8/29/2007

I recentely went shopping at the Wedding Shoppe on Grand and had a wonderful experience. I tryed about 30 gowns on and fell in love with the second dress. My sales lady was very helpful and helped me eliminate dresses that were not quite what I was looking for. She gave me good feedback and really made my experience enjoyable and fun. I am very happy with the dress I picked and am excited to start planning other things for my wedding. I have not looked at the bridesmaids dresses there yet, but I here they have a huge selection. Overall, I thought this store had awesome customer service and a great selection to choose from. I would highly reccommend this store to other brides. Pros: Great selection, Nice Staff more

Avoid at all costs 8/20/2007

I thankfully did not buy my Wedding dress here, (I got it at David's Bridal and had a wonderful experience there.) But I was in love with some bridesmaids dresses that I had found online and The Shoppe was the only place in the Twin Cities that carried the dresses. Eight months after starting our order, the dresses FINALLY came 4 weeks before my wedding. Just to let everyone know, you evidentially need an appointment to pick up your dresses. Found that out the hard way! One of My bridesmaids tried on her dress after I had picked them up and the top was WAY too small. Even though she was measured at The Shoppe and went with the size the LAZY sales woman suggested, it did not fit. So 3 weeks before the wedding one of my bridesmaids doesn't have a dress and they WONT do anything about it. They gave her a name of an alterations place. Do not go here, save yourself the trouble. I wish someone had warned me. I am a hair stylist and I know a lot of people who will be hearing this story, and I hope to save some other Bride or Bridesmaid out there. Cons: Customer service, customer service, customer service, rude, rude, rude! more
