My hair is important 8/26/2002

I loved the cocktail and haircut and the attention the detail provided by my stylist, Jennifer. The salon has a lovely environment. It feels pretty lady fancy, but is not snobby or expensive. My haircut took a very long time and even though Jennifer's next client was waiting, she did not make me feel like she was rushing through to finish my hair. Wax Poetic made me feel like I was special and that MY hair was important. more

I have been going to Wax Poetic for a couple years, and have never been disappointed in either my hair cut & color or facials. The staff are freindly, and helpful. There is also the best collection of off-beat books and art for sale. Pros: great service, knowlegeable staff, fun books more

Lovely hair, art, and booooze. 8/15/2002

The Wax staff is always cool (as in genuinely nice, but they have the skills to pull off any cut/color easily) and the salon introduces a new local artist every month-ish -- you can check out a wall gallery in the mirror as your head/face get indulged...much better than reading sticky back issues of Newsweek. Also, Cocktail and a Cut on weekdays. Free booze with your cut! So nice. Just make sure you describe the cut you want -before- you get buzzed on vodka + cran. Unless you're just brave that way. Pros: great setting, hip but not stuffy Cons: can be pricey more

fabulous skin care - got me carded 8/8/2002

I love my facials & microdermabrasion treatments at Wax Poetic. I use all the DDF products and my skin looks great - I even got carded at the grocery store! Pros: cool art gallery, reasonable prices, good parking Cons: she's so busy more

i feel pretty oh so pretty 8/7/2002

What can I say but WOW! Had a great time hanging out with all the people at Wax Poetic. I have been to a couple of their art shows and always have a blast. The stylists are forever sending some of the coolest colors and cuts out the door. I had to try it for myself. I was so happy with the work that I had done. Also got to see Michelle working on some extensions. Makes me think about all the possibilities. This was definitly worth the trip! Pros: cool environment, awesome staff, not stuffy at all more

I've been going to Kerry for seven years and I love my eyebrows. She has even helped me with my skin! Everyone is so friendly there, especially that Richie. Where do you go to get the latest hairstyle and color in LA? Wax Poetic is the place!! They have a great staff of talented and innovative professionals but Jennifer is my favorite. She keeps up-to-date on all the latest trends and she spends the time with you before hand to make sure she knows what you want. Not only is she a great stylist she also does waxing on Wednesday. This was something I was hesitant on trying but her caring attitude got me through it and now I keep a standing appointment. more

Amazing style 6/13/2002

This salon is an eclectic mix of style, skill and artistic energy. The stylists know the current techniques and trends. Even better, they listen to you! When you describe the hairstyle you want and what your life style is like, they help you find the best haircut to meet both needs. I have been coming here for over 2 years to see Jennifer and have never been dissappointed. I have not only come here for my hair cuts and color, but also for their waxing. If you want that unsightly hair removed, they take the time and care you would expect on such a delicate request. I recommend this salon to anyone who is looking for skill in their stylist, friendliness and care in their customer service and fun when they visit the salon every 4-6 weeks.
