nice people and nice atmosphere 7/22/2007

i have had a Brazilian wax and hair cut at wax poetic. Both occasions were awesome. My wax job done by Rosemary and it was quick, little to no pain, and super professional. It was my first Brazilian so i was very nervous to drop my trousers and have all my hair ripped out, but i had nothing to worry about when it was all said and done. My haircut was done by Nicole. she was very nice and when i explained to her the type of cut i wanted she knew exactly what to do. the assistants were also super nice. id definately recommend wax poetic as your one stop salon shop :) Pros: easy parking, tons of beauty services. more

nice people and relatively painless brazilian wax 6/28/2007

As it was my first time being waxed, I arrived at the salon very nervous. Rosemary, my waxer, had me feeling at ease in no time. The brazilian wax was practically painless. I've had more pain plucking my eyebrows. This salon has a relaxing atmosphere and friendly staff. I'll be going back regularly. Pros: Relaxing atmosphere, friendly staff, art gallery Cons: None more

Oh, thank god! 6/17/2007

You know, I love my boyfriend, I really do, but I cannot stand the hair. Specifically, the hair down there. I'd been waxing him for a while, but I'm really bad at that and it was getting old (I would say that I s-u-c plus -k at it, but Citysearch wouldn't let me). So I made him go to Wax Poetic to get it taken care of. He refused to write a review, but I'm here to tell you that it was awesome. First of all, he's all smooth and looks great. Secondly, Susan was really efficient and got all those little strays that I couldn't be bothered with. Thirdly, he told me that she really put him at ease and made him comfortable in what was a delicate situation. He said it was quick and mostly painless, and that she was really friendly (without being TOO friendly, considering the parts she was handling). All in all, yay! Because I don't have to deal with the hair anymore, and he's definitely going to go back regularly. Thank you Susan! more

Best Bikini Wax in LA 5/6/2007

I have been going to wax poetic for a few years now. It is by far the best place for a quick, painless, affordable brazilian in LA . I have sent about ten people there and all of them continue to go back. I recently got my hair cut there too. I was very happy with the cut, and it came with a free conditioning treatment. Aside from the great services, the art gallery and opening parties are a lot of fun. more

Wax Lame... 5/6/2007

If you like unprofessional, uncomfortable, hard sell, pushy service then this is the place for you! Normally I am not moved to comment on service but in this case I felt that I needed to share. I was optimistic thinking that it was high time someplace trendy and fun came to Burbank. I was disappointed by the ambush service... the person I was assigned to for eyebrow waxing made me feel like the state my brows were in was a disgrace... tried to push unnecessary products and services on me and was basically rude. Maybe they should focus on service and creating a friendly environment... wax on that. Pros: Ample Parking Cons: Service more

Awesome Manzillian 4/25/2007

I feel kind of weird leaving a review about getting my sack waxed, but my girlfriend told me they did such a good job that it would be really nice of me to do it. Anyway, Susan was really great, and didn't seem uncomfortable at all about handling my, um, boy parts. I never thought I'd be the type of guy to get my junk waxed, but I have to say that I'm really digging it. Highly recommended. more

Revolving door. 4/17/2007

I used to be a regular at Wax Poetic, and stuck it out for a couple of years despite the fact that every time I found a great stylist or waxer there (and I did find a few), they up and left. Just seems to be the way it is at Wax Poetic, which is a pity because it's a nice looking salon with a relaxing atmosphere and some interesting products. more

Couldn't even make an appointment. Who is running the phones? I'll tell you, no one. When I have got through, staff was rude and put me on permahold, twice. I don't have time for a place that can't make time for me. Try another day spa if you want service, this is not the place. Pros: Are there any? Cons: Plenty to spare more

Best Wax in Burbank !! Excellent Customer Service 3/24/2007

I love this day spa and would highly recommend the waxing. They are professional and seem to want to make your day a little brighter. I have tried other spas in the area and definitely recommend Wax Poetic Salon over any other spa. Thank you for the great service and awesome waxing..I'll keep coming back. Robyn is AMAZING! 3/22/2007

After moving here a year and a half ago I was bummed about leaving my hairdress back home. After a search on Citysearch I found Wax Poetic, checked out their website and made appointments for myself and my husband. We went to Robyn who immediately made us feel comfortable and gave us awesome cuts. We've been going to her ever since - each cut better than the last. And I haven't stopped hearing great comments on the hilites she gave me a month ago. Also, everyone there remembers who we are and greets us with smiles. Went to Michelle for waxing and had a great time - quick and as painless as waxing can be - plus she had me laughing the whole time. I am constantly telling my friends, co-workers and people on the street (who comment on how great my hair looks) to go here. more

Jenny's our Girl! 3/6/2007

I went into wax poetic with a friend a few weeks ago and we both saw Jenny. She was highly recommended by one of my co-workers. I was a little skeptical because I had been in before with less then stellar results with another wax technician. However, I have now found my new waxologist. Jenny has skills! She was was fast and incredibly efficient. She put me right at ease. My friend who had only had bikini waxing done was going for the gusto and getting a brazilian. She thought the experiene was much less painful than she had expected Jenny's our girl! Cons: the horrible chamber music they play in the waxing room more

I just went to Wax Poetic this morning for an eyebrow wax on a recommendation from a friend. Liesl was my waxer and she did a great job - fast and friendly, and they look great. Do not get any waxing done here!!!! 2/26/2007

This place used to be awesome, with awesome people, and the best wax ever! I recently went in there, and all my favorite people were gone, and the wax had changed to this cheap cheap wax. I had a brazilian wax done, and it was so painful, and when I got home I was literally peeling my under garments off of me, since the wax was so cheap!!! The hair girls are great though, and give an awesome cut and style!! :) Pros: some of the good people are still there. Hair people are great! Cons: cheap wax, painful waxing more

I could wax poetic about Wax Poetic for hours. Their hairdressers are skilled, creative professionals who work hard to give you the look you want. Their aestheticians are fast and efficient, and the waxing services are worth the price. The later weekday hours are great if you're in a hurry after work, and the location on Magnolia near a ton of fascinating independent shops makes weekend appointments a fun excursion as well. Robyn is amazing! 2/8/2007

After a bad/uncomfortable experience at a salon which I will not name (in Studio City, on Ventury Blvd, cross street Laurel Canyon, next to M.Frederic) I decided to drive to Waxpoetic because I had read good things about them. I was immediately greeted with a smile and introduced to Robyn. I explained what I had just experienced and she gave me a positive color consultation and I made my appointment for a few days later. I just had my appointment last night and I just about cried. Robyn gave me the color that the other place said "oh no I can't give you that color". And she gave me the best hair cut ever. I was amazed at how Robyn took her time and did everything so perfect. She gave me the best highlights, no streaks, just amazing! I usually don't like to refer people for the fear that they might not like the end experience, but now I just want to tell everyone I know to go see Robyn. She is the best! Sweet, patient, loves what she does and most important KNOWS what she is doing. I have to say all the staff there is great, not snooty like some other salons. I will never go anywhere else. You have to check it out!!! more

Bikini and Brow Wax fears calmed - Wax Po folks seem to "get it" 2/5/2007

I gave Wax Poetic a try--a little anxious because of some recent bad bikini and brow wax experiences--and came away very pleased. Kerry was friendly, attentive when I told her I was trying to let my brows grow in more, and didn't want her to go for a "perfect," super archy look. She did a truly nice job. Didn't take too much off...just cleaner, yet natural. Very good bikini wax too. Jen (I believe that was her name) took better care than my last, using a combo of soft and hard wax. Hard wax burns some, like me, and therefore, is more likely to make sensitive and/or darker skin hyperpigment. These Wax Po folks seem to "get it," based on my recent visit, so I'll be back. more

My skin has never looked better!!!! 1/31/2007

I have had terrible luck with skin care and facialists, and the most problematic skin, but then I found ELIZABETH at Wax Poetic, and wow! my skin is so healthy and beautiful. I no longer have to cover every inch of it with make up. She made it so I want to show my natural face again!!! I'm finally in control of my breakouts and my skin is an even beautiful skin tone. Susan leave no strays unplucked! 1/17/2007

Despite the mixed reviews for the salon on this site, all the raves about Susan made me decide to give her a try. She really is as wonderful as they say! Her waxing is as pain-free as humanly possible, her attention to detail (i.e. stray hairs) is terrific, and she does airbrush tanning too, which is great for the winter! The only downside is that she only works on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but that's what scheduling is for. I'm definitely booking her for my next treatments. more

Believe me, this girl is a jewel for your face! I have tried countless amounts of places for my eyebrows and I've been so unhappy everytime. She gave me the brows I've always wanted.
