I primarily visited the salon for waxing. My ethestician,(Elizabeth) was extremely professional and yet freindly enough to put me at ease. She also had alot of good information on skin care. Now, if your a guy going in for wax hair removal I know it could be a bit intimidating. However, as a guy who has tried a couple of salons already, if this going to be your first time, then try at this salon. At least they'll talk you through it. Plus everybody from the front desk clerk to my hair waxer were extremely freindly and easy going. Pros: Parking, Price, Privacy Cons: Far from where I live more

Great Brazilian Wax 10/14/2005

Never had one before but Meredith was great. She's really friendly and talks to you throughout the experience. It took about 10 minutes and she gave me helpful "care" tips . more

Marisa for great cut and color 10/1/2005

I haven't been attached to any stylists since I moved to LA because I have a friend who is amazing and has always done my hair for as long as I can remember. I went to Marisa one time and swore I would follow her anywhere. Marisa just seems to know what will work well with you and your style. I went for the first time this past weekend and was very impressed. I definitely plan on becoming a repeat customer. Meredith quickly and expertly did my eyebrows and I was in and out in no time. I felt like I was in good hands and that is a rarity when it comes to shaping my eyebrows. I'm definitely tempted to try the many other services their salon has to offer.......including a drink at their full service bar! more

Liesl says you don't have to cry! 9/26/2005

I have always been afraid (and a little shy) of getting waxed! My friends have told me too many horror stories, so I've just stuck to getting razor nicked instead! But this summer I decided to get my brows done...now I am no longer afraid! Liesl was so sweet, never making me feel lame for being nervous! She was very professional and really cool, so I felt very comfortable to comeback again! She is so quick and makes the whole process a pain free experience everytime!! Waxing by Liesl Brown 9/15/2005

I had been to numerous different places for bikini waxing and always had a "rough" experience and then I went to Liesl. I felt comfortable and welcomed there. She was understanding to my past experiences and very gentle. For the first time I didn't leave there in pain. And I wasn't there forever, she was very thorough and fast! I highly reccomend going to Liesl Brown at Wax Poetic for your waxing treatments. I am allergic to shaving and so I have to get everything waxed--and she is amazing! She's so fast and gentle! You barely feel it, and it's over before you know it! And she doesn't miss a spot! Plus, I've had several facials with her and she's equally talented at that! I left feeling so healthy and radient! Such great treatments, I had to share the info! more

Best eyebrow tint ever!! 8/26/2005

I am a redhead with naturally blonde eyebrows ...so I had the biggest disappointments with eyebrow tinting jobs. I am pretty fair skinned, so brown eyebrows dont look exactly natural. However Sandi was awesome, picked the right color that lasts. I dont remember when is the last time i got so many compliments on my eyebrows. Thanks!! Inexperienced stylist... 8/19/2005

After hearing many great reviews I decided to go in for a haircut. Although I was pleasantly surprise with the decor and friendly staff, I was very disappointed with the haircut. I returned a week later and met with Christopher, the head stylist. He assured me that he would go ahead and fix the flaws. And as promised, he delivered. The only thing he wasn't able to fix was a portion on the top left which was cut too short from before. I just have to deal with it and let it grow out. i see sandy for waxing and she is AWESOME!!! she's totally cute and super cool to talk to. she actually makes the experience enjoyable. i decided to try the salon and had my hair cut by chris (very cool guy). he gave me exactly what i wanted without any push for products. his assistant nicole was really nice too. check out the books and products they sell and their gallery while you wait. I have been to quite a few waxers in the area, and finally found one I'm sticking with. Elizabeth is very thorough, and as gentle as can possibly be when dealing with the bikini area. She makes you feel comfortable and takes her time to make sure the job is done perfectly. I definitely recommend Elizabeth!! more

I have been going to Elizabeth for all my waxing needs for a few months now and she is the most thorough, friendly and professional esthetician I have encountered in LA (and I have been to many different ones from Beverly Hills to Silverlake). I have been on a search for a great hairstylist and finally I found one. Connie at Wax Poetic Salon is the best. I have long, thick wavy hair that gets frizzy all the time. She always gives a great haircut that accents my face and she gives great hair and styling tips as well. :) more

No one has ever been able to duplicate a great cut that I had from a friend of mine in Atlanta who has been a stylist for years. She had no idea what I had in my mind, but just knew what would look right. The only one who has been able to capture that is Marissa at Wax Poetic. Since I have moved from New York to Los Angeles I have gone to five differnet places to get waxed until I found Sandy at Wax Poetic. When I first moved to the LA area, I was really intimidated by the prices (and attitudes) of most local salons. But after reading about the laidback, welcoming environment at Wax Poetic, I decided to give this salon a try. I am so glad that I did. I'd never had a Brazilian bikini wax, but Meredith was absolutely wonderful and talked me through the whole process. Not only is her work excellent, but she is friendly, attentive, and makes the whole experience as (relatively) painless as possible. Plus, she always remembers my face when I walk in and even recalls what we talked about at my last appointment! Now how often do you see that?!? Fabulous!!! I was very nervous for my first time having a Brazilian wax. Let me just tell you, Meredith was wonderful. She made me feel very comfortable and relaxed. I am very, very pleased.
