Too Little for Too Much 6/3/2003

I went to this salon and got my hair done by Jackie after reading all the reviews on citysearch. First, Jackie is moving, so don't plan on going to her anymore. Second, it cost me $95 for just highlights. Just Highlights! I can't imagine what a cut and highlight would run! Plus, it took 2 hours to do my hair. Maybe if they extended their happy hour to everyday, I would have been happier to stay there for so long! I'll never go back. Pros: Friendly, Good Parking Cons: Expensive, A little pushy more

A Most Pleasing Experience 4/20/2003

Upon arrival I was charmed by the eclectic and strikingly quaint decor.Keep in mind this isn't the posh Hills, but the salon had character and a ultra-cool sense of style. It reminded me of the salon Vain in Broadway Seattle without the goth factor. Samantha was my assigned stylist and having plenty of experiences in various top salons in the west and east coast, she was the sweetest and easiest to talk to. She actually listened to what I wanted and went for the look I was trying to achieve with gusto. No attitude,no lectures. I find that there are too few salons that can compete with them in the skill and customer service department. I am extremely paranoid and picky when it comes to my hair, and to leave this salon feeling good is quite an achievement. Samantha is awesome and I wouldn't think of going anywhere else. Pros: Super friendly, Skilled Cons: A bit pricey, but you get what, you paid for more

never again 4/19/2003

Sadly, I received one of the worst haircuts of my life when I went here. It has no shape, is choppy (not in a stylish way) and completely wrong for my face. I gave the stylist pictures and thought we had discussed what I wanted. Now, I'm living with the after effects and am terribly disappointed. Pros: easy parking Cons: Bad cut more

Wax Poetic Rocks!!! 11/13/2002

I've been a client of Kerry's for over 8 years and have referred many friends and family to Wax Poetic because of Kerry's superior skill and excellent customer service at the salon. I have a very grueling work schedule and they are always very accommdating. We should be thankful to have such a creative salon/gallery in the Burbank area that also carries the Bumble &Bumble line of hair care products. I didn't think I could go to a salon in L.A. and get great service in a hip environment without all the attitude. I go there after work, get a free cocktail with my haircut and leave feeling beautiful and less stressed then when I walked in the door. They're expanding now and adding massage, henna tattoos, and even more cool stuff to buy. (I always get the greatest gifts there). And lookout boys, cuz' they do waxing too. :) Pros: great atmosphere, no attitude, reasonably priced Cons: hard to get appt. more

Soho Salon in Burbank, CA? 8/27/2002

This salon right out of Soho or Melrose Avenue but located in Burbank is the hippest most cutting edge salon in Los Angeles right now. I recommend this salon to all my friends and colleagues. The atmosphere is great and you always get more than you pay for. more

It's All About Caring!! 8/27/2002

Kerry goes above and beyond because she cares. When she heard I was going through radiation treatments for breast cancer, she was on the phone to a top notch dermatologist in New York and had an awesome post peel balm fed x'd to my house the next day. Because she cared, my skin was saved from the visible effects of the radiation treatments. When I was strong enough, Kerry invited me in for a complimentary massage...just because!! Now that's what I call a "full service" salon! more

Sooo Cool 8/26/2002

I went to Michelle to get my hair done, and I LOVE IT!!!! I asked her for a new style and now I cant keep her buisness card in my wallet (EVERYONE wants to see her) My co workers think that this is the hairstyle that was waiting to come out of me. I dont have to do anything with my hair in the morning...just brush and go. I couldnt ask for anything easier. Of course the cocktail and a cut dosent hurt either. Its a nice way to hang out with my girlfriends and have some girl time together!
