Saban's Rent A Car

My son was in phoenix this past week checking out the local colleges that he's intersted in attending, thankfully Sabans rent-a-car would rent to him since he was only 19. He was able to get a car with just a depost and be on his way. The rates were very affordable, and my son said they didnt even give him grief for using just cash. I plan on using them again anytime im in phoenix. Pros: good prices Cons: not right at airport more

Saban's was very accommodating for my wife and I, we flew into Phoenix to go explore the GrandCanyon, by far they had the cheapest rates. Now sure they did have a little bit of a hefty deposit on the rental, but that was understandable since they were giving me thier car, besides we got the remainder of the balance back once we returned the car. Will deffinently be calling them first anytime we come back to Arizona. Pros: cheap Cons: shuttle charge ($12) more

This advertises off airport rates. You get a used car and by the time all of the fees are added to the quoted price of the car, you end paying the same. Cons: Extra fees not disclosed end paying same as on airport more

Bad business. Cars are unsafe, dirty and old. The ABS brake indicator light wouldn't turn off and there was practically no brakes. I told them I didn't want to take an unsafe car and they cussed me out. Do yourself a favor and don't go here and certainly don't sign their contract. I didn't take the unsafe car and they charged me anyway and even charged for unknown fees. They are very misleading and intimidating. What should have been $99 ended up being $200 and no car. This company my travel alot easier last minute driver flake out. So we had to rent a suv to go to Lake Havasu. Not one hassle rented the truck for a week. My family and I flew into Phoenix from Colorado for spring break. My wife had reserved a car at Saban's on line prior to our arrival. The total price for six days was $189.00. When we arrived at Saban's we were informed that they were ""out of cars"". The very brash man behind the counter told us to try their other location where they have ""one car left"" and they will hold it for us. We arrived at their other location and this is where we met Satan in human form. Words cannot describe how rude and inappropriate this man behaved. I approached the counter and he looked at me as if he wanted to pull my heart out. No hello's.. No good afternoon.. just a very unfriendly ""what?"". No joke.. that is all he said as he looked up from counting a massive roll of cash. Then, he told us he did not have our reserved car. He had only one car left which we could rent for $489.00 not for the reserved price of $189.00. This was clearly very upsetting so my wife and I claimed bait and switch. Then what happened next was unreal. He began to scream at full volume every harsh word one can fathom. Right there in front of my two small children he totally verbally bashed us. He is a true Sleazebag. Needless to say we did not rent from Saban's. Please Please do not rent from this business. You have been warned. We had a car rented for spring break week 2009. My hubby decided he wanted to economy cars instead of a van. We called Enterprise they had no cars left. We canceled the van thinking no big deal to get a new rental..Were we wrong! It was Cactus league in Phoenix and we landed with no car! Our LaQuinta airport Shuttle driver took us to Saban's and they were great ...we rented a Town and Country for a week ..brakes were squeaky but other then that it was awesome! They help us out of a JAM..as far as the insurance thing goes..I had our insurance Agent fax them confirmation that we had our own and did not need theirs..It wasn't even an issue. After being offered $99 per week I ended up with 15 year old car and after I returned it Saban's charged me over $400 for 5 days. I went to Sabans after being referred by AVIS I am now never going to AVIS and will be taking legal action against Sabans. This is the biggest fraud and ripoff EVER!!! \r \r Do not use them!!! I truly beleive the good reviews on here are from them to get business to screw over more people and are lies!!!! \r \r The car was a complete peice of junk and broke down on me, I called the 24 hour emergency line and no one called me back at all. I towed the car to their site and when I called the next day since no one callled me back was screamed and cussed at legnth. When I called the manager he wouldn't give his name and wouldn't even speak to me. They lied about the insurance, I have unbelieveable insurance and was told I would not be charged for the insurance. They advertise 99 a week and have really old cars but then when you return the car they charged more for insuance than for the rental. The guy threatened me when I complained I will be filing a complaint these people are criminals pure and simple. Cons: criminals more

We rented a car from there, they were so nice at first. Then the bill came and they had charges that we had no idea what they are for. Did they correct it---- no, they made up stories about why we had to pay extra. \r Don't use this place, it was a nightmare and the people are very shady. I thought I'd save a few bucks and go with an older car- now I'm paying more than Budget Rent A Car!!!!!! Because I'm out of state they think I won't go after them, well they are so wrong. I'm complaining to the Attorney General and all the way to Phoenix Chamber of Commerce and others. These guys shouldn't be licensed. We also had a problem with the car and they pretty much told me it was my problem to have it fixed, they don't warranty the car to actually work!!! Right!!! Do yourself a favor- STAY AWAY!!! Phoned these clowns from the airport and was told the rate was $129.00 per week plus 12% tax, period. \r \r The first car they gave me, I drove appox 250 yards and did a U-turn back onto their lot. The lifters were so loud that you couldn't hear yourself talk in the car and the front end was completely gone. Then they gave me another car which had over 70,000 miles on the odometer but I think it had probably been around once already. \r \r In the second vehicle there wasn't one seat cushion that didn't have cigarette burns on it. The inside smelled like stale smoke. The padded part of the dash had a huge split right across it above the instrument panel and the rest of it looked like someone had had a knife fight in there. The power driver's window wouldn't roll down and the driver's side mirror adjustment was broken off. There was, what turned out to be, a clear gum-like substance dotting the entire windshield. I initially tried to remove it with the windshield washer but of course there was no windshield washer fluid in the car.\r \r The car had zero gas in it and the guy indicated that I'd better get to a gas station right away!! The worst part was that the brakes definitely wouldn't pass inspection and we narrowly avoided a couple of rear enders.\r \r Anyway, after driving the piece of junk for a day, I rented elsewhere and returned the car to them. Then they had the nerve to charge me for an entire week!! The guy said that since the weekly rate was noted on the rental agreement, I had to pay for a week and there was no credit for returning the car early. There were also additional charges preprinted on the contract for S/C $2.50 and Pkg?? $3.00. There were two other charges added to the $129.00 per week plus tax that were never mentioned in our original phone call, an $8.95 per day charge for something that I never was able to read which somehow came out to 2 times that amount on the final bill plus a cleaning fee of $11.99 which is a total joke. Over the last 20 years I been renting a car every time I go to my winter home in Carefree AZ. I always have a pleasant experience every time I rent from Saban's they make my stay very easy and painless. I Lease there car for three month's at a time for about $399 a month +tax+ins. I rented a car for a week from saban and had no trouble with the car or company. This company makes it real easy to rent from you basically just need a debit or credit card or cash for deposit. These guys don't know what customer service is. They charged my card twice what the contract was. When I called them on it, they started to yell at me! Reported to the BB Bureau today. If you're thinking about trying these guys out, I would suggest running their company name through a search engine and seeing what comes up. Might save you hundres of dollars in the long run. I rented a car from the airport and when I returned was amazed to find the taxes were more than 40%. Total ripoff. I did some searching around and found Sabans that was only a couple miles from the airport. I tried them out and they were alot cheaper. I wont rent from the airport again. The car i rented from Sabans was the same size as at the airport but was 200$ cheaper. If you want to save a few bucks, try Sabans. I didnt have a ride in so Sabans came to my house and picked me up on a Sunday when no one else was open. Very happy with their customer service. They let me use a prepaid card for deposit. Wouldnt go anywhere else. Pros: Willing to work with you Cons: Older cars kind of ragged but they also have newer cars available. more

They had a car for me when every other place in town was out of cars. Very happy with them. I had a car within 30 mins of when I called them. more

Just Go Online and see all the reviews. Type the company name into Google or better yet check them out on the Better Business Burial site. If you like playing Russian Roulette go to them.
