Saban's Rent A Car

I read these reports and gave them a go. With the fees added to my rental it was the same price as the other places quote who would not rent to me because my credit is whack! Thanks Saban's. Got me on the road and to work when Enterprise and Budget both said no. I got a 2005 Impala and it was clean. I guess this place is just for us and not all these people who complain when there is a coffee drip on the cup holder. I'll rent again. more

This business should be shut down. They rented me a car on a daily rate of 39.00 and then charged me almost 300.00! They wrote in fees when I returned the car that were not disclosed upfront. They totally scammed me. I have never heard of any company charging that much for a one day rental car. The car they rented me was old and did not even run right. It was not a safe vehicle - wires exposed and drove horrible. They need to be stopped!! Why doesnt anyone actually do anything?? I will join any lawsuit against this business, just contact me. more

They are currently overcharging me by HUNDREDS of dollars and I am having to go after them legally to get my money back! RUN AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. I called to reserve a car and was given a great daily rate. However when I signed the contract, I didn't read the fine print that there is a $30 drop off charge; $12.95 per day surcharge, $11.99 cleaning charge, additional $19.95 per day surcharge for my age, $16.95 per day surcharge for using a debit card and not a credit card to rent the car, $3.00 per day charge if I left someone else drive the car -- list goes on and on. My husband rented a pickup truck from Saban's rent a car on Feb 19th 2010 and we originally rented for a daily rate and after we took the truck home we later decided to keep the truck for longer term so my husband called them and told them what are my options on weekly rates and they told us that we have 1000 miles and 189.00 week, we agreed to that verbally over the phone thinking that we can trust them but turns out that they do this to alot of people just read all the bad reviews, anyhow the day we return the truck back on march 15th 2010 they give me a bill for almost 1400.00 dollars telling us that we went over ours miles and they lied and that we did not get the 1000 miles and the rate of 189.00 instead they wrote on their sheet we wanted 500 miles and our rate was 169.00 our total bill should of only have been $820.00 instead we are getting scamed but don't worry Saban's we put a stop hold on our charges that we got from you, you people are not going to get away with this! Never rent a car from this company. Google their name to see TONS of bad reviews. Rented a car and provided proof of insurance and declined their extra insurance coverage. When I returned my car, they charged my credit card $843.15 for bogus ""Saban's Insurance Add On"". The manager stated under new Arizona Law they had to add it to my account. When I contested this, he stated they already charged my credit card so nothing I could do. When I asked for proof of this new law, the manager called me a ""piece of Sh*t"" and said he'd call the police on me if I didn't leave the rental location. NEVER RENT FROM THIS PLACE AGAIN. Do not under any circumstances rent from Saban's rent a car. They charge your credit card for $$ you didn't authorize. They will cuss and swear at you if you try to get answers from them. Ive' dealt with Sabans's on weekly basis. I live local and transportation to and from work are important to me as well as quality time on the weekend in something nice to take short trips. Saban's offers a wide variity of vehicles from cheaper work syle rentals to high end SUV's. The pricing is fair according to what your looking for. I've read some of the negative reveiws about the process of contracting their vehicles. All I can say is ask questions and read your contract stips. before signing. I find the process quite easy and the the rental guys at the counter easy to talk to. Not all of us consumers have the means of credit cards to rent with, so Saban's cash plan works for me. A deposit a short contract process and of you go. Can things happen in cars un expectly why sure, but fair response time locally with tow service is always avilable. Sometimes minor issues can arise that might be easier to handle by the renter and clear reimbursement from Sabans' by a phone call, especially longer trips taken by renters such as touring outside Phoenix like to the Canyon. Give Sabans a try and be open-minded that all business's can have unexpected issues from time to time. My expierence with Sabans has been good and Im sure it will increase in the future. quoted price of 189 for week. bill came at 350. then a week later a further charge of 221 appeared miraculously on my visa. i live in canada so am having trouble fighting them but if anyone is willing to do a joint sueing i am in. Cons: rip offs more

don't you love these fake posts from people happy with this company, pretty funny. They quoted me $49/day and when i went in to return the car and complain that the car's driver side wouldn't shut properly and the gear shift was attached via a nut and bolt i was met with rude brushoff - i then warned the people in line to check their car out thoroughly, the fat dude Pete let out an F-bomb in front of this customers (who had a young child) and then told me to get off his property and that i was trespassing, i left and then found out they somehow charged me a total of $93, i feel i got off lucky, canceled my CC they had on file and will chalk this up to being stupid and will always google search any company like this before doing biz with them. If you have a Saban's, you may have to put your life on hoke. Self insured, they don't settle, even if clearly liable. So, expect subpoenas. Your expense to travel to Phx for depositions ( or go tojail). Your expense to stay in town during the trial. AND, if it's your fault ( strange city, don't know the roads etc) be prepared for personal bankruptcy! Sabans is self insured and it's easier for the lawyers to go after your assets....even foreign, than their maze of shell companies. I was in town visiting from Guam for my sons graduation from UTI. Not alot of rentals would even talk to me since i had an international license untill i spoke with Phoenix Rent-a-car. They gave me no hassle at all, and they had a geat priced brand new caravan for me and the rest of us that were in for the ceremony. Thanks lou, i will rent from you guys next time we visit! I rented a car this past weekend while intown visiting from Quebec, the boys were cute and very tentive when it came to helping me. the way i like it. I was quoted $189 originally for one week 10-3 to 10-10. $300 was charged to debit card, with the balance to be credited back after return of car. I called at 10:52AM ON 10-10 TO 602-269-6419 to rent the car for another day and was advised to call McDowell Road branch (where I rented the car) and talk to them. I called McDowell branch at 602-273-7353, also at 10:52 am, do not know who I spoke with, but it was a male. I asked them how much it would be to extend for one day. I was told $39, so I decided to go ahead and do so. I started to ask if they would just take it out of the $300 and the man told me to just take care of it when I returned the car on Sunday, 10-11. Fast forward to approximately 5:25pm on the same day, 10-10, I was at Glendale arena for hockey game, which I decided to leave. I come out to the car to see a man looking around the exterior and interior of the car. He went back to a maroon Suburban, then came back just as I was approaching the drivers side door. He said he was taking (or repossessing, I don't recall exactly) the vehicle. I said, ""No, I rented this car."" He said it was past due, to which I explained all of the aforementioned details. He called Dennis at Saban's, who got on the phone with me. He said he had reported the car stolen (?????), and that the guys were going to take the car. He said they had tried to charge my card for the day's extension and there were insufficient funds. This is true...I didn't think that they would have to charge the card again when they already have $300 of my funds authorized. At this point, I took my few things out of the car and the guys took the vehicle. I had to call a taxi to take me to the light rail, which eventually got me back to my hotel. (oh, also, Dennis said that the vehicle was due at 1:00, when on the contract it said that the car was due at 6pm, so I wasn't even past due at this point!!) Dennis would not listen to anything I tried to tell him about my phone calls earlier, and hung up on me. He did say that I would still be refunded any funds that were due to me. Called again today, 10-19 to talk to Dennis and find out what my final charges were. Dennis told me that I OWED THEM $67, and if I had the money, I could come in and talk to them about. I asked how he figured those charges...he would not elaborate. He accused me of (his words) ""bullshitting them"" when I rented the car. I said I was the one being bullshitted, at which point Dennis hung up on me. It is obvious that this place is in business for the sole purpose of screwing people. On another note, the car, while it did manage to stay running the week I had it, was a piece of crap. The blinkers only worked when they were in the mood, and it never started on the first try. Cigarette burns throughout the vehicle. Every time I've rented elsewhere in Phoenix, I have almost always received a brand new car with less than 100 miles on it. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.
