Saban's Rent A Car

piece of crap car, quoted $159, paid $289. was treated rudely and no other charges that were charged were disclosed. i have proof because i did get my paperwork the before and after. am contacting everyone i can on this. how is this place still in business? more

Recently rented a car from this fraudulent pheonix car rental to meet with family out in Albuquerque. The car was riddled with mechanical problems that were too long to list. The day before I head back to Pheonix. The altenator belt just snapped and I had to call roadside to get it fixed; plus another part had to get replaced. I even doubt if I will ever get reimbursed for there junk equipment. Everyone from this company is rude if it's not going there way, and they yell at you like your stupid. Just walk away if they try to sell you a good deal. It will cost you twice than the bargain. This company needs to be shutdown for its own good. more

Well I am yet another victim of this awful company. I was left last minute trying to find a rental car because the reservation I had thru another company had been ""lost"" and they didn't have an available cars. This place was close to the airport and their ad said $129/ week for a car rental no credit check and no airport tax. YEAH RIGHT!!!! I got to the place and they quoted $189 for the 2 days I needed it. Being as I was short on options I agreed. The car itself was beyond horrible. The brake light kept coming on the car was very rattley and the cruise control did not work. I amazingly made it home from LA safely and returned the car to find out my total cost was going to be $317 for all sorts of fees that were not mentioned when I signed for the car and I specifically asked about mileage charges and was told they were none yet was charged 35 dollars in mileage charges. On top of that there was over $50 in taxes yet their ad specifically said no airport tax again YEAH RIGHT!! This place is beyond a rip off and if anyone has any advice on what next step we need to take to get these guys out of business please please share!!!!! more

i never write reviews but should have read some before we rented from Saban's Car Rental (aka phoenix rental car). the first car they tried to pawn off on us was missing part of the dashboard. When we complained they said that if we wanted a decent car we would need to upgrade. After we said we would go elsewhere, they offered us what seemed to be a marginally acceptable minivan. During the course of the 6 days we had the car, we discovered that the brakes we bad (terrible grinding and unresponsive), the back seat was loose and not affixed to the floor board, THERE WERE NO HEADLIGHTS... more

Well I wish I had read these before tonight. I am another victum. I rented a car for a week. They gave me a piece of junk 2006 Pontiac that had a bad transmission. I bought it back in two days and they charged me $292.00, with all the hiden fee's etc. When I picked up the car,a man by the name of Mario rented it out. He sounded and looked like he just came over the boarder with a mexican mob. When I returned the car, the genreal Mgr( who is a short fat thig wanna B)called me a cheapskate when I expressed that they chared me way too much. I will not just let this slide... There is always the one that you should not screw. Guess who!!! more

Do NOT rent from this company! also known as phoenix rental car. They treat you horrible, they yell at you, the GM of the company is the one who treats you this way the worst. they do not refund your deposit. their cars are terrible and not safe to drive! STAY AWAY!!!!! more

Quotes one price, charges another when returning car, refuses to return original receipt when returning car, refund receipt given has zero amt on it, when asked for corrected refund receipt they come back claiming they are ""out of paper""! Cars are terrible, overheating problems, air conditioning breaking on out of state trip in 105+ degree weather with 2 children in car, bad brakes, numerous other problems. HORRIBLE! this is the absolute WORST place i have ever rented a car from. im qualified to say that because i travel a lot and i have rented a ton of cars.. anyways... here is my experience with them.. my credit card was expired and i needed a rental for a week while i was in town.. they took cash deposits so i figured something was better than nothing what the heck, go for it... they charged me more or less 100 dollars per day for an old car that couldve been purchased for 1k more than the weekly rate of 700.. i got into town on sunday morning and picked up the car around 1pm sunday afternoon.. now.. the next SATURDAY im parked outside my friends house who i was staying with i come out to get in the car and it wont start... about 20 mins later after putting up the hood like WTF is wrong with this shit... here comes 2 of the workers in another car to REPO the car a DAY EARLY!!!!! so some idiot wrote the wrong date on the paper... maybe its my fault for not checking before i drove off.. whatever... but i paid 700 for 6 days instead of 7 AND i was embarrassed all to hell in front of everyone.. they actually turned off the car via some kind of program so i couldnt drive.. then came to pick it up.. when they are the ones who made the mistake. i was LIVID. i cant even believe it... it still makes me a little angry.. now i see all these other complaints and they are really scam artists! who does that...... seriously. more

bad bad place they totally ripped me off. charged me more than i was quoted then made me buy extra insurance. bla bla Its now called Phoenix car rental. Look how many complaints he has at the bbb. This place needs to be put outta biz more

This place is a TOTAL Rip-Off, SCAM, RUDE, Don't go there, the Vehicles are dirty...not worth the rate, and then they charge extra on top of the low F-rate! more

***WARNING***WARNING***WARNING?***WARNING*** IF YOU ARE EVER IN THE PHOENIX, AZ AREA PLEASE STAY CLEAR OF SABAN'S CAR RENTAL aka PHOENIX CAR RENTAL AND A A ABLE'S PHOENIX CAR RENTAL. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with in my life. The experience was something you see in a bad B movie. I was quoted a ""Flat"" rate of $549/week for a van rental. After my family arrived at the airport we called to get picked up and they sent a vehicle that could not fit all of us. So I had to leave my family at the airport, sign the fake contract ( that appeared to be written by a toddler ) that only showed the $549 rate, then go back to the airport to pick up my family. The van was in horrible condition and felt like it was going to fall apart. I dropped it off on a Saturday and was told that the total charge would not be available until Monday and I needed to contact the ""Accounting"" department. I called Monday to speak with ""Accounting"" and they told me the charge would be $867. They added fees for shuttle service to and from the airport, additional drivers, full coverage insurance, 19.55 % tax and so many other surcharges it would make your head spin. NONE OF THESE EXTRA FEES WERE DISCLOSED AT ANY POINT! I will warn as many people I can about this place and hope they get shut down. Hopefully a class action suit will be filed against them soon. more

They count on the fact that no one reads the fine print on the back of the contract. People assume it is a standard car rental contract like all the others and it is NOT.\r \r I thought the bouncers at the door were to keep the riff-raff out, but I now believe they are to manage disgruntled customers. more

I was totally ripped off by this company. They quoted me $189 plus a $25 dollar fee but when i went back they kept my $400 deposit and said i owe them $9.00. Then they took my reciept and said I had no proof of doing buisness with them. more

The experience was bazaar the place is a scam do not do business with them. I am pressing charges and taking them to court, reporting them to the better business bureau. They authorized payment out off my account before I returned my vehicle and they charged me more than they quoted. When I questioned the man behind the counter... he became nasty , abusive and violent . I was afraid for my life I left called the police and closed my account down. please do not do any bossiness with them! more

VERY RUDE AND DISHONEST!! Online we saw a rental price for $129. We called and total price was, indeed, $129. We asked the person at desk, just to be sure and the price was $129, with some taxes and with an additional $170 deposit. We were assured this was just to make sure car came back in same condition on time. We explicitly asked if $170 additional would be refunded and were assured that it would be. Car was in extremely poor condition (the backseat was actually at a 45 degree angle) but we didn't care, it drove fine. We returned it 1/2 hr early in order to rent it again for another week and they gave us a much higher price (online quote was still $129) so we decided not to rent again. My husband wanted to take me home (5min away) so I wouldn't have to walk our dogs on the hot concrete...but they would not let him. They would not refund security deposit even though we returned car in same condition with the same amount of gas. Very rude and dishonest! more

STRANDED IN PALM SPRINGS. HAD TO RENT MY OWN CAR TO BET BACK TO PHOENIX. THEY WOULD NOT REFUND ME FOR THE CAR I RENTED. VAN WAS DIRTY. FULL OF DENTS. I GOT IT CLEANED JUST SO WE COULD USE IT. Why didn't I check reviews first. I am a very frequent traveller and use rental cars often. I waited too long this time and tried Saban's. Absolutely horrible. Car had 122,000 miles on it and steering vibrated badly. On drive back from Tucson I found water leaking and stopped before leaving at a car repair. They said don't drive it as it had a leak and may break down on the way. I called Saban's and they called me a liar and said I would be charged for abandoning the car if I didn't drive it back. I got it back, almost missed my flight with delays checking the water, and they charged my card an additional $150.00. I can't get anyone on the phone to reconcile this. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY. more
