Great Service ! 11/4/2010

Preferred Automotive Assoc has performed all the work on my vehicles since approximately 1999. In the last 9 of those years I've put 160,000 on my truck, and around 40,000 on my cars. All work is done well - the first time. Their prices are reasonable, and everyone in their shop has bent over backwards to make sure I can stay mobile. Mobility is necessary in my profession (I work in emergency preparedness), and I cannot overstate the importance of reliable transportation. I recommend Preferred Automotive Asssoc highly - very highly. more

Treat You Like a Friend 11/4/2010

I have been going to Preferred Automotive for over 20 years. They are great mechanics. More important, they treat you as a friend, not just a customer. I recently brought my car in thinking I might have a couple problems. They checked them out, found that there was nothing wrong and told me so. Many places would say there is a problem even when there isn't one. Preferred Automotive wants you as a long-term customer. more

Being a member of a 5 car family means ? car problems do come up. This usually means a huge stress out ? going from shop to shop trying to get a straight answer about what is really wrong with the car. This all came to an end when we started using Preferred Automotive. This shop was recommended to me by someone at my church and believe me it has been a god send! They are always fair, straight forward, and patient. No question is left unanswered. Example ? brought my daughters car to the dealership ? they quoted me $3,000 new transmission. Took the car into Preferred Automotive and they tighten up a few things, replaced a part - $300 ? no lie! They are the real deal. I highly recommend them to anyone in need of an excellent repair shop! more

There's nothing Like the Guys from Preferred! 11/3/2010

I absolutely love Preferred Automotive. I started going there in 1991 when I was driving a beat up 1978 Mazda GLC. I was relieved to find an upfront and honest mechanic and they would tell me "...this is wrong and that needs to be fixed, but THIS, you have to get repaired right now." They really worked with me and my limited budget, and I trust them completely. Three cars later, I'm still with Preferred and would never switch to another mechanic. In fact, when I purchased my most recent car, I was walking through the dealership lot with Gary on the telephone, and I was consulting with him - real-time - on which car I should purchase. Try getting that service from some other mechanic! Of course the first place I drove that car was to Preferred so Gary and the crew could give me their professional opinion about my purchase. They are the greatest and I am thankful to have the people from Preferred as a resource and my friends. more

We Prefer Preferred Automotive 11/3/2010

We have been taking our four cars to Preferred Automotive for over ten years. We are always greeted with a friendly hello, easy appointments, (usually right away) and excellent service. \r \r The price also reflects Gary and Mike's sensitivity to the markpetplace with reasonable rates and special offers. \r \r Our cars run the gamut from sports cars to SUV's - and Preferred fixes and maintains them all. My 83-year-old mom still drives and Gary has on more than one occasion helped her out personally by picking up her car or dropping it off at her home - it's hard to find this kind of personal service nowadays. more

Great Service and Honest People 11/3/2010

I've taken my GMC to Preferred Automotive for the past year or so and will not take my vehicles anywhere else. I've worked with Mike, Fred, Greg and Shawn and all are very professional and explain exactly what the problem is with the vehicle. I had a mystery issues with my GMC Yukon which only they figured out after taking my truck to a few other places. I've purchased a new truck and will certainly take it to them when the time comes for an oil change, brakes, whatever. I'll never go back to one of the chain auto repair shops or anywhere else. more

Preferred = Honest, Reliable, Quality Mechanic 11/3/2010

Gary and his crew have done right by me for most of the last decade, through 4 vehicles and myriad automotive needs. They're a pleasure to deal with, identify a cheaper option when there is one, and most importantly know what they are doing. I don't work near their shop any more, but I still bring my cars out from DC to have them worked on at Preferred. more

Very good people 10/29/2010

I came to Preferred with an old (1999) Expedition with over 100K miles. They gave me an honest evaluation of its problems and a fair estimate for the needed work. I decided not to have the work done, and they disposed on the old car for me. Their attitude was great. They obviously love what they do, and I could tell they are very good at it. more

I've rates this business world class because Preferred Automotive is a premier business. I've been doing business with this family company for 20 + years. I've never been dissatisfied with any work they have performed. I highly recommend this business. They are honest, courteous, they drop me off and pick me up when the car is finished, they use quality parts and I never worry about the routine maintenance because they inform me in advance what needs to be done and how much it will cost. They use a data base for the work history, have access to the most up-to-date information about your vehicle, which is very helpful and they work on old and new model cars. Preferred Automotive Rocks !!!!! 10/28/2010

I have been taking my cars to Gary, Mike, Fred and the other folks at Preferred Automotive for more than 20 years. I have complete confidence in their automotive expertise to keep my car operating safely and efficiently and I rely on their advice concerning what needs to be done. There really is a family atmosphere at Preferred Automotive when you drop off or pick up the car and it is not uncommon to have and hear discussions with the Gary, Mike and the staff about each other's family and even grandkids that have grown up during the years of knowning and trusting each other. I have found the prices reasonable, but more than than that if a question or problem arise, they resolve it. If peace of mind is a consideration.....think and go to Perferred Automotive! Jim K more

Best of the best 10/28/2010

I could name many characteristics about Preferred Automotive that make Gary and Mike, and all the employees, the best of the best but the fact that they breed confidence in their work is the outstanding one. I have been relying on P.A. for about 20 years to take excellent care of my cars and I am a person who has to, needs to, have confidence that my car is ready to be safe out on the road.\r I also appreciate the consideration everyone at the firm gives me by explaining what the problem is and how it is to be fixed. I may not understand the explanation fully but it goes a long way to help me see the work involved.\r I have recommended Preferred Automotive to others many times and would not hesitate to recommend them always. I have been using Preferred Auto I think since they opened and have recommended that everyone who is looking for an honest auto shop go to them for all their car's needs. I trust them completely. Their work is reliable, excellent, and fast. Many shops you wonder about the source of parts, the quality of service....not at Preferred.....Gary and his staff are like family.....you will always be treated like a customer wants to be treated. more

I give Gary and everyone else Preferred Automotive the highest rating possible. Their rates are competitive, so you might find cheaper service elsewhere (but you would be getting cheap service); their service is so much better than other places that I feel like I owe them more?and I don?t say that lightly, considering how much it costs for upkeep these days. Also, I have both foreign and domestic cars; I?m in my mid-50s so I?ve had more than my fair share, and I really appreciate a shop that works on both. My only regret is that I didn?t find Preferred Auto sooner, I tried a lot of places until I walked in, but they have all my automotive business now?Thanks Gary! more
