Amazing food and service

The food was great, the server was attentive to be serving a party of 14, but why were we all standing around waiting on the bill? We waited for at least 15 minutes yesterday to g...

Delicious Breakfast 8/8/2010

OMG I just tried the breakfast here at Adios cafe. The huevos benedictos were amazing. I wasn't too sure when my friend said we should go here for breakfast, I was thinking pastries and coffee, but the offer a full breakfast menu with some very enticing options. Definately my new favorite place for breakfast. By the way the coffee was great too. more

Delicious Mexican Food 7/29/2010

Thank you restaurant week for introducing me to this place. I have been to a couple of other places during past restaurant weeks and have often laughed at the portion sizes given. Not here. The portions are plentiful and delicious. I loved everything about my visit, the food, the service and the decor. I will definitely be back. Pros: Awesome Restaurant Week Menu more

Best in Town 7/27/2010

I love this place. I have celebrated several occasions here, including a baby shower. I have always enjoyed every event, granted I'm not one that nit picks and expects things for free, but I have always found everyone to be friendly and accommodating. The food is delicious, I especially love the stuffed Shrimp and the margaritas are strong and tasty. Delicious food, strong margaritas and friendly staff. I can't ask for much more than that when celebrating with friends. Pros: Nice people and great food more

Worst Service Ever 7/26/2010

I went there to celebrate 3 birthdays with 8 people. Had to wait almost an hour after our booked reservation then waited another 30 minutes before anyone bothered to take our orders. We should have left then but we did order and the food came rather quickly and was OK, a little pricey but OK. Our waiter must have ran away it took us another 30 minutes to get up and find him and ask him to clear the table and get us our check. Now mind you he has really done nothing so far, never offered to get more drinks, never asked if the food was OK, never acknowledged it was someones birthday which was quite obvious from the gifts. Oh the point is he added a 20% gratuity to the check, understand the check was close to $200 so this is an extra $40 for just showing up. Well deserved. When we complained to the management they offered to take off the 20% forced tip but offered nothing else and continued to send the same waiter to us who by now has a nasty attitude. Trust me on this No Mas Cantina does not care, I did complain further and have yet to hear anything so if you want decent service do not go here. by the way valet took another 15 minutes.... Pros: Decor Cons: Service, Service, Service more

Best Darn Mexican Around 7/24/2010

Love, Love, Love this place. It is by far the best Mexican in Atlanta. Their mole sauce is some of the best I have ever eaten and the cuatro leches is to die for. The patio rocks, I just with Atlanta summer did. The margaritas are awesome and if you get the Santos margarita you get a cute little bracelet. Pros: Good Food and Strong Margaritas more

A great place to treat yourself 7/10/2010

I tried the place after a fantastic meal at the Cantina. The server offered to bring desserts and coffees to our table in the restaurant, but we decided a change of scenery would be an additional treat to go with our coffees. ADios caf? is located next door to the Cantina, but has its own unique vibe. It is much smaller than the cantina, but has the same great d?cor and treats for the eyes. Speaking of treats, ADios has plenty for the stomach as well. They have several homemade ice creams, such as chipotle chocolate and spicy mango, and a plethora of fresh baked pastries. I had the avocado lime cheesecake, delicious. My husband had the chipotle chocolate ice cream, which was insanely good; I couldn?t help but grab a bite when he wasn?t looking. All in all it was a fantastic evening at No Mas! Cantina and ADios Caf?. I highly recommend it for anyone who is looking for a fun night that will let you think you have traveled to Mexico, even if it is just for a few hours. Pros: Awesome ice cream and desserts more

Great Food, Great Drinks and Great People 7/10/2010

What at groovy little place! I say little, because it has the heart and soul of a smaller local eatery, but it is actually huge. It would be a great place to have a party. My whole experience was amazing. The building is beautifully decorated from the lighted tables on the patio to cool baskets hanging from the ceiling. The hostesses were friendly and accommodating. The service was stellar. I felt that our table was the most important one in the restaurant. Several people checked in on us throughout our meal. The food by far was the best part. We started with the tapas favoritas, a special for the night. It had a chicken and chorizo empanada that was to die for, flaky crust with a fruit salsa on top. My mouth is starting to water just thinking about it, yum. We also ordered a pitcher of mango margaritas, which came in the really funky blown glass pitcher. For dinner I had the Steak Acapulco, a tender and flavorful carne asada topped with shrimp and vegetables, it was remarkable. My husband had the fish tacos with jicama coleslaw and said they were delicious as well. For dessert we decided to visit ADios Caf?, another section of the restaurant which was fantastic as well. I think I will review that separately, as it was an experience in and of itself. Pros: Service, Food and Atmosphere more

Great Margaritas 5/19/2010

I was advised against trying the food, but my friends seemed to enjoy it. One of them got the shrimp and fish taco and said it was great. Pros: Drinks more

Home Run Sunday 5/3/2010

I have dined at No Mas! Cantina in Castleberry Hill before, and have always been impressed with the food, the service and the atmosphere. My visit on Sunday was just as enjoyable. Pros: Great Margaritas more

Amazing service and even better fajitas 5/3/2010

I frequent No Mas regularly and it is always great foods with amazing service. However last week was by far the best experiance I've had! I had the steak fajitas and the house margarita, words do not express how great the fajitas were. I even asked to speak with the chef to express how i loved the meal. Even though they were busy she made time to come out and speak with me, which I thought was very impressive. She explained the time and care they put into making them everyday, which just made me an even bigger fan! If you are in the Atlanta area and looking for a completely amazing dinning experiance you must stop by No Mas. Pros: Great Margaritas! more

My new favorite place!!! 5/2/2010

No Mas! Cantina is, by far, the absolute best Mexican food in town!!! I went there a couple weeks ago with some friends and had an awesome time. It's located in the Castleberry Hill district near CNN and Philips so it seems like it would be a great place to hit up after a game or concert. Pros: great service, really yummy food, and great atmosphere Cons: none!! more

Nada Mas de No Mas!!!! 5/1/2010

I received a recommendation from a friend of mine to try No Mas. I went to their website and the dishes looked good, and the descriptions were enticing. The prices were reasonable and comparable to that of any Mexican restaurant, and I had read some good reviews about it. I love Mexican food. I am from Southern California and I get home sick everytime I crave a really good burrito or salsa verde or carne asada! Whenever somebody asks me,"" Do you get homesick?"" I always jokingly respond by saying,"" I miss my parents and the Mexican food and that's about it!!!"" So, I was really excited about trying this restaurant. No Mas is one of the most beautiful restaurants that I have ever visited. It's too bad that you do not go to a restaurant just to look around; otherwise, No Mas would get a return visit from me! Before I recount the details of my visit, I would like to say ""thanks"" to those of you who chose to submit a review, claiming that you were ""from California"" or ""love Mexican food' etc. I have found that normally, you can trust the word of a Californian when it comes to validating a Mexican food restaurant. But not this time!!!! You so- called Californians caused me to WASTE 20 on a meal that I could've perpared- BETTER- at home! When you said that you were from California, were you referring to the state of California? Or did you actually mean to say that you used to live on Calfornia Street in some rural community where they do not have any Mexican restaurants and no exposure to Mexican people, much less food? And when you said,""I love Mexican food"" were you perhaps alluding to your experiences at Taco Bell? You could not possibly have any real experience with good Mexican food and then rave about this place! As far as service, I have had worse, and our waiter was not rude; but, we had to ask other waiters for assistance in capturing his attention from the time that we placed our drink orders up to the end when we were waiting for our checks. As if he had not been slow and inattentive enough, he specifically asked us,"" Do you want one check or separate checks?"" My friend and I both said (in unison) ""separate"". He brought us one check. It took us another 5 minutes to get his attention to ask him to bring separate checks to which the dense fellow said,"" Oh, I thought you wanted one check."" Under normal circumstances, slow and inattentive service does not bother me- as long as you are not down right rude, I am satisfied. But when you just got through struggling to finish a meal (not because the portions are too big to finish; but because the food is so bad that you have to keep reminding yourself ""I don't like to waste food and money I don't like to waste food and money..."" just to get through the meal) your tolerance for everything else dissipates. Aside from the bad food, and mediocre service there is a charge for valet parking. This normally does not bother me; however, there is a disclaimer printed on the sign that says something to the effect of ""our valets rely on gratuity..."" So why are you charging me to park my car when I am already patronizing your restaurant? After WASTING money on a bad dinner, the last thing that I was in the mood to do was tip every person in my path. You already ripped me off on my meal! I had the ensalada de gringos with beans. I could've spent 6 dollars for a steak tostada bowl at El Pollo Locco and been much more satisfied!!!!!!!!!!!!! Save your money and do not eat here!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wish I could get a refund. Dining at No Mas is reminiscent of the disappointment of a bad sexual experience. We've all been there. You listen to a guy tell you about all the wonderful things he can and will do to you, the excitement builds up, the chemistry is awesome.....Then he takes off his underwear to reveal a small penis and is done in minutes...... and you're left lying beside him unsatisfied and thinking,""I can't believe I wasted time shaving my legs for this!!!!!!!!!!"" Pros: beautiful decor Cons: the food and the service more

Terrible Customer Service 5/1/2010

I reserved a party of 18 for a birthday surprise dinner 5 days advance. I called the restaurant on the day of the reservation to confirm and they had lost our reservation. They pushed back my reservation 15 minutes and said they would reserve our seats, no big deal right?......wrong. I got there and we all waited for 55 minutes before we were sat. The hostess was very rude and the manager did not even speak with me. No apologies were offered and no compensation at all. The restaurant looked nice, the food was ordinary just larger portions, the drinks are over priced, and the service was terrible. I would never go back, there are plenty of other Mexican Restaurants that are much better. Cons: unorganized, poor management, over priced more

Best Mexican Ever 4/15/2010

This is a great Mexican restaurant in Castleberry Hill. A friend took me there before the Braves game. It is really close to the stadium. Plenty of parking, which is a plus in downtown. Pros: Great food, Great drinks, Great Decor more

Used to be good, seems to have gone down hill 4/11/2010

Went there tonight with my girlfriend and a good friend of ours. We used to frequent No Mas quite regularly, but hadn't been back in about a year. The meal started off quite well with the Queso and Guac being as good as we remembered. Unfortunately, as soon as the main courses arrived the meal went down hill quickly. I had the Torta Mexicana, and was expecting a real Latin style tort. Flavorful, crusty, with juicy chicken and good sauce. What I got was tasteless, dry bread with even more tasteless chicken. It was obvious that the cooks had used a press on the chicken to make it cook faster, thus giving it the taste and texture of thick shoe leather. The Yucca fries were bland and tasteless as was the ""spicy"" avocado sauce. My girlfriend ordered the Burrito Grande and it was a huge portion. Unfortunately it was absolutely tasteless. Completely bland. I'm not sure how old the ingredients were, but wasn't able to eat more than six bites.
Our friend ordered the Enchiladas de Espinaca, and once again, we all found her dish to be tasteless. Huge portion, but lacking in any real flavor. Certainly nothing like the subtle and pungent flavors of TexMex or real Latin cooking. I don't think we'll ever go there again, which is a real shame because it had been one of our favorite Sunday hangouts. Pros: The Guacamole was good Cons: The rest of the meal was horrible more

Very Poor Service! 3/3/2010

The food was good, from what I understand...because after 2 HOURS of waiting to eat...my food was never made! The experience at No Mas Cantina was bad from start to the end. My friends and I waited usually 20 to 30 minutes for a beer or coffee. We began to go to the bar ourselves because it was faster. Our salsa and cheese dip....45 minutes! We asked over and over again for napkins and silverware. When did we get it? 2 HOURS LATER! Ahh, no toilet paper in the bathroom. The management team didn't seem to care about how poorly their team were treating the customers. Oh, do you think they screwed up the checks at the end of the night...of course they did! I wouldn't waste a good evening or your money at No Mas Cantina! more

Experience 3/1/2010

If you have a party of 4 or more, I wouldn't bother. On 2/27/10 we had a party 10 and it was like pulling teeth to get served. We waited 2 hours, yes I said 2 hours, to get our food. There isn?t any excuse good enough for that wait. Oh and we didn?t get our silverware/napkins until 10 minutes after we were served our food. One of our party didn?t even get served their food. Somehow, they ran out of ingredients to make it. REALLY! Pros: Food Cons: Service more

No Mas Margaritas, Mr. Bartender!!! 2/23/2010

Our server, Brandis was refeshing & honest. She had the best attitude and kept us laughing the whole time.(shout out to her!!)The fresh guacamole was okay. I don't like tomatoes in mine, I always thinks its filler where more avocado should be. The queso dip was AMAZINGLY good, especially when you take the fresh salsa and mix them together! I personally did not order the steak fajitas, but I got to taste their smoky charred greatness & kept asking my friend for more to eat! I ordered a triple threat plate that had an enchilada, a tamale and fresh beef taco. The taco was very tasty for being basic meat, lettuce, tomatoes, & cheese. The tamale was moist and cooked well.(favorite thing on the plate) The enchilada had spicy chicken with red sauce even though I ordered it verde. This just meant tomatillo over the top. I prefer all of it verde if ordered it that way. The beans were also very well prepared. As for the margaritas, my friend could drink one and was satisfied. i ordered a second and had to share since they were not weak. You want a serious margarita, yeah it was serious. We laughed about the bracelet that comes wrapped around the ""drank"". I dont think the Pope, Mary or Jesus would be to happy if you are stumbling around tossed. So designated drivers are a must since it may catch you by surprise! For the ladies that like to shop, there is the Hacienda on the property if you feel the urge to buy imported Mexican goodies.(Not me!) I was also told the owners live nearby, maybe next time I will go say hello! Pros: The steak fajitas were the business!! Cons: Seated by ourselves upstairs, pay attention host!! more

Gets the basics right. 2/15/2010

For Mexican food I tend to alternate between those that are super authentic (El Taco Veloz) or those that are gourmet pretending to be authentic (Lupe.) But there's something to be said for nailing the basics, and No Mas, in the colorful Castleberry Hill, gets it right on so many accounts. The salsa is smoky-good, the guac is fresh, margaritas are stiff, the atmosphere is festive and unique. (Where else can you buy the margarita pitcher you're drinking?) While their menu tends to balance what you'd find in the 'burbs and what you'd find in town, I've become a fan of their chicken enchilada with mole sauce. The mole tastes sweet, almost like chocolate, and covered in cheese it's a nice balance between slightly sweet and slightly....cheesey. With Mexican food a little goes a long way, and tasty basics, refreshments and a staple or two will please most. Pros: Cool atmosphere, good at the little things Cons: Overpriced at times more

No Mas Experience 1/14/2010

Ate at No Mas for our company dinner. Accidentally came in through the furniture area (which is an eye-catcher by itself), but atmosphere of bar and dining area was just as great! Pros: Chips, Cheese and Salsa is great Cons: I wanted to see how they did with carnitas but not on menu more
