Amazing food and service

The food was great, the server was attentive to be serving a party of 14, but why were we all standing around waiting on the bill? We waited for at least 15 minutes yesterday to g...

Great Place to Relax and Enjoy Great Mexican Food 5/31/2008

I recently visited No Mas! Cantina after seeing the thing on Cinco de Mayo on FOX. I have to tell you this place is great. I thought the restaurant looked good on TV, but that doesn't do it justice. It is breathtaking. The food was some of the best I have had and I love Mexican food, with everything getting more expensive I was happly surprised by the prices, very resonable. I have read some of the other reviews and I am not sure why some have been bad, my experience was great. I will definately be back. Pros: Great Food, Friendly Service more

Getting Worse 5/27/2008

I really did love No Mas the first few times I ate there. It was the sort of place I would take people when I found out they had never been. Pros: The Margaritas Cons: Bad Service and Decrease in Quality of Food more

Great margaritas..everything else so so 5/27/2008

Great place to hang out and have some margaritas, but the food was not as good as expected. If you want to hang out or have a girl's night out...this is the place, but don't go here to get great Mexican food. Pros: margarita Cons: food more

I don't understand the hype! 5/12/2008

The service was good. The margaritas were good, decently strong, but nothing special. I ordered the combination trio, with a tamale and two enchiladas. I am not exaggerating when I say it was barely above a microwave meal in terms of flavor and freshness. A friend had the fried chicken taco, which was something out of a public school lunch nightmare. Flavorless AND fried! How does this happen? A dry chicken finger thrown in with some iceberg lettuce and a smidge of tomato does not make a taco. Other friends had the fajitas, which they said were very good. Pros: lots of seating, big patio, nice atmosphere Cons: food is so so more

great placed tucked away 5/4/2008

Upon arrival, you notice the great outdoor patio as you enter. Lots of seating at the bar and another level upstairs ideal for large parties. Food was superb!! and service even better (main dish came out before I finished my appetizer). Portions are big but not obscene. Extensive list of tequillas and highly recommend the classico margaritas. Overall, excellent place for dinner or lazy afternoon lunch. Pricier than Chipotle but well worth it. Only downside is the location but that will soon change with all the construction. Pros: food, drinks, service more

Excellent Mexican food and atmosphere. 4/21/2008

This place rocks...as a bar...as a restaurant. The food has always been excellent. From the handmade flour tortillas to the fresh tasty smoky flavored chipolte salsa. The beer is cold but the margaritas could stand to have a little more ""octane"" added to them. The timing of the courses has always been perfect, never had our main course crowd our appetizers. Even the valets that park the cars are great, taking special consideration for my wife and our baby. The atmosphere is straight out of Mexico with 2 levels of seating and decor everywhere ( and decor that can be bought if you want). The price of things is in the middle, neither cheap nor expensive. The chicken with poblano pepper (relleno) and chipolte flavored mashed potatoes is what brings us back along with the sopapillas (This is the only place I have found in Atlanta that gets them 90 percent correct, not perfect but real close and I'm originally from the Southwest). Pros: great food, fresh tortillas and salsa Cons: can be a little noisy and you HAVE to valet your vehicle more

Great 4/17/2008

Great - great food, great service and great atmosphere - loved it and cannot wait to go back. One of the best mexican places in the city. more

Had to write a review 4/11/2008

I don?t normally write reviews but seeing people give this place anything less the 4 stars made me chime in. Pros: Great food!!!! Love the shop attached to it. Cons: To far from where I live more

We agree with ""beaugirl1"" - give it a second chance 1/3/2008

Believe me when I say, we are the ladies who LUNCH, daily. A bad place rarely gets a second chance. Last year No Mas was super slow, very average and on our ""do not go"" list. With some poking and prodding, we tried it again, and much to our suprise - it was GREAT! The service has come a very onlg way and so has the food! The menu is varied and clear, the food was fresh and really prompt! It is back on the rotation! Pros: Go with an open mind! Cons: Off the beaten path and bit hard to find. more

Great Patio - Really Good Food and suprise!! They sell furniture and more. 11/18/2007

Cool place to be seen and have some drinks. . I enjoy the patio in the summer. Very roomy inside and has a cozy feel. I like the salsa, it has a different taste than most. Probably less spicy but a distinct flavor that is enjoyable. I ordered fajitas and they were pretty good. Margaritas are good too. The amazing thing is that they sell all the furniture and the dishware too. I thought that was pretty cool and it works especially in the artsy Castleberry hill neighborhood. Afrter work on Fridays gets a nice crowd until it gets late. I definitely recommend it for it's ambiance, food, and service that's usually very accomoadating. Pros: patio, food and service more

Bad first, awesome now! 10/1/2007

About a year ago My boyfriend and I came to no mas, and everything was terrible, the service was slow and unattentive, the food was ok but not anywhere great and it took nearly an hour to get it! The manager tried to explained that they weren't ready for the amount of people because of blah blah blah! I never thought i would be back to this place, however, last week, my new boyfriend, (lol) and I came in again to castleberry hill for the art stroll and decided to stop at no mas for dinner. I was skeptical because the place looked packed and i thought it was going to be the same thing than before. what a huge surprise!! we came in were greeted promptly, and were given a wait of 30 minutes, came to the bar to have a drink and even though it was crowded we were able to get a drink pretty fast. Then our beeper went off in like 15 minutes, got seated and our server alex was very fast and he was really busy we could tell, he always smiled and was very attentive, the only bad thing was that my food came out wrong, however we told the manager sabastian and he took care of it really fast, he (really young) then came back and made sure that everything was fine, the service was superb! I wasn't even mad that my food came out wrong, they made me feel like I was the only customer in that restaurant! I eat out a lot, and specially since I had a bad impression of this restaurant it really surprised me on how much they have improved. If you were unlucky to get a bad experience before, try it again! it's amazing! Try the santos dolce, that margarita was amazing! and my boyfriend had the classic... it was good but too strong for me though. Anyways! Great job no mas! we will be back! ( maybe with another boyfriend ;) Pros: Service, Food, ATMOSPHERE Cons: Parking more

Great Mexican at Great Prices 8/29/2007

I had heard about this place when it opened, but I didn't get a chance to visit until now. I have been missing out. No Mas! has the best Mexican food in Atlanta hands down. The service was friendly and fast and the atmosphere was amazing. Don't make the same mistake I did by waiting to go. Get in your cars and go now. You won't regret it. Pros: Food, atmosphere, and service more

No mas por favor! 8/3/2007

We decided to try No Mas after hearing rave reviews. One review that stuck out in our minds was Creative Loafing's review when No Mas first opened and gave it a mediocre review. After having 2 margaritas, calamari appetizer & pancho's platter- we agree 100% with creative loafing. The food was ok at best but without a doubt not the best Mexican food we've had in Atlanta. It seemed more Americanized Mexican than authentic Mexican. Great scene which is why it's such a disappointment that the food was so lousy! more

Great Atmosphere 8/1/2007

We watched No Mas under construction and couldn't wait for it to open. The atmosphere was very nice. The food and drinks were good. However, I really loved the ambience... Great place to take someone on a romantic date. Great patio area. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. A gem in the big city. Pros: Ambience Cons: Parking more

wonderful margaritas and food 8/1/2007

Finally! i have been searching for a great Mexican restaurant in Atlanta for a long time and i have found one. This place is slightly hidden off Walker st. But it is definitely a hidden gem. Starting off, I only have two complaints. The parking lot is tight. you may want to consider using valet parking b/c navigating that parking lot with a large car was very difficult. We arrived on a Tuesday evening a little after 8 p.m. and was told there would be a 15 minute wait. However, there were plenty tables free and i couldn't understand why we were waiting when plenty of tables ( in areas with servers) were open. Other than that, i have no complaints. we sat at the bar and i ordered a frozen strawberry margarita (only $5). i mistakenly thought that a $5 margarita would be neither strong nor good. however, i was very mistaken. That margarita was the best I've had in Atlanta, especially for that price. The perfect blend of strawberries and tequila. The complimentary chips were hot and the salsa was delicious. Not too hot, but not too mild. We ordered the fajita platter for 2, (25) and it was great. Juicy steak, shrimp, and chicken, with peppers and onions. Also included was rice and beans for 2, guacamole, sour cream, cheese, and tomatoes. The flavor and tenderness of the meats were just right. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it again. No Mas is a well-kept secret, but I doubt it will stay that way as Castleberry Hill gains popularity. Pros: delicious food, great salsa, wonderful wonderful margaritas Cons: parking lot was small, seemingly unnecessary wait more

Great food, Great Decor, Great Service 7/17/2007

Wow, I can't believe a place like this exists in Atlanta. Beautiful decor, very tropical, I felt like I was on a beach in Mexico. The food was delicious, not your regular tex-mex but authentic flavors. I love everything Mexican and this place does Mexican right. Even down to the cute busboys and their broken English. If you need a little escape from the mundane Atlanta life, have a tamarindo margarita here. Pros: Food and Tropical Decor Cons: No Ocean view more

Incredible Customer Service- Incredible Food 7/17/2007

I convened a group of 20 at No Mas for my birthday and had a tremendous time. The staff was incredibly accommodating and fantastic to work with. We were not the easiest group to handle ? we had people coming and going and things could have easily become muddled. The wait staff and the manager were great and worked with us to make sure everything was managed smoothly. We really appreciated their flexibility and attentiveness. The food was excellent and we had a fabulous time. We have ALL agreed that we will come back and quite often. We are passing the word along that this is a great place to hang out with friends and have great food! Pros: Ambience, Service, Food more

Avoid this place - 7/15/2007

I took a goup of 15 people to NoMas and the manager on duty was rude! We asked to be seated and were told we needed 75% of our group there before we could be seated - OK, no problem. Later when our entire party arrived - they had not arranged a table so were told we could sit on the patio and use a number of smaller tables - once the larger corner table was available we could move part of our party to it. As they were cleaning the larger table - and we started to move over - suddenly they wanted to sit another party there and when I questioned why was told the MANAGER had said to go ahead and seat the other party there. Pros: Nice atmosphere Cons: Poor excuse for management and very poor food more

Beautiful Place!!! Wonderful Food!!!! Polite, Attentive (but not obtrusive) Service!!! Delicious Margaritas!!!! 7/4/2007

Best Fajitas this side of Texas. It's great to find a place for a ""mini vacation"" when just having dinner. Looking foward to my next visit. I had a wonderful time. It's really nice to have such friendly, professional, service, and when combined with delicous spicy shrimp Fajitas, mango Margaritas, and beautiful decor, made for a wonderful escape in the middle of the city. No Mas please, I've eaten too much. But I will be back for More. Pros: Food, Service, Atmosphere more

Great Food, Great Service, Great Decor 6/20/2007

This restaurant is a little off the beaten path, in fact a little hard to find, but definately worth the effort. My husband and I decided to try this restaurant before the Braves game yesturday. It is actully pretty close to the stadium and not very crowded. We sat on the patio, which was beautiful. The server was friendly and attentive. I had a mango margarita it was awesome. The salsa and chips are THE BEST I have ever had. We just had the calamari and quesadillas, had to save room for a hot dog at the game, but the apps were so good I will definately be back for dinner and dessert. You should give this place a try. A great secret just waiting to get out. Pros: Great food, service and atmosphere Cons: A little hard to find more
