I went to Elan for my very first hair color ever, and my second-ever facial. WHAT A DISASTER!!! \r \r First, the hair salon: I had done a TON of research and decided on an all-over color to boost my natural dark brown to a medium golden brown. I specifically told Jennifer that I did NOT want highlights, I just wanted my natural hair brought up a couple shades. Well she flat-out refused to do all-over color, saying that it's only for greys, and insisted on highlights and lowlights, promising that it would look just like what I asked for. I should have stuck to my guns, because I ended up with exactly what I DIDN'T want: thin strips of color woven into my still-dark base hair. (The cut was pretty nice, so that part was fine.) \r They booked me for the next day with a senior color correctionist after I complained. I thought this would turn out okay, until I was told that it was impossible to strip my color thanks to the low-lights - so she re-did my whole head with highlights, as thin as possible to even out the color. It did look a lot better, BUT it still did not achieve what I had originally asked for. So over $200 spent to end up looking totally unlike what I asked for! Plus, I was told I'd have to redo the full highlights 4-5 times until it was even enough to do all-over color! Coincidentally, full highlights are the most expensive treatment... hmmm.\r The next time I had my hair done, I went to a different salon where they did all-over color like I asked and did it perfectly. I feel that Elan just milked me.\r \r The facial was terrible too. I have oily, blemish-prone skin - the facialist didn't talk to me about my skin at all, convinced me to add a peel, and didn't explain anything until prodded. Her only feedback was ""you're not really oily, so I can use these rich treatments"". Result: my face was shiny and blotchy when I walked out, and I had breakouts for 6 weeks afterwards, especailly in the areas where she piled on the creams. \r \r What a money-milking scam. Pros: Easy to park, friendly Cons: Don't listen, out for the $$$ more

I had dermaplaning done at this spa and thought my service provider, Sara, was great. She explained to me what the procedure entailed, then after it was all over she gave me instructions on what I should and shouldn't do and I left happy with my results. more

Elan Germantown is the only place to go. Everyone there is very friendly from your first visit to every follow-up visit. Very cool, quaint, modern atmosphere with great music playing in the background. Customer service at its best! Jackie gives me the most detailed haircut I have ever received. I would recommend her to anyone. This salon has style and great stylists. Give them a try. You won't be disappointed. more

I have frequented the Green Hills salon for many years and love it! However, I recently went to see Kristy Rhodes at the new Germantown Elan location because it is closer to my home in East Nashville. I was so impressed! The salon has a fabulous vibe and Kristy did a fantastic job. She listened to what I wanted to accomplish with my cut and executed it to a tee! I would definitely recommend that you give this salon a try; I would recommend it to ANYONE looking for a change!! more

I have found a new salon and hair stylist that will definitely get my repeat business. Nathan at the Green Hills Elan Salon is great! He gave me the best hair cut I have ever had. At least I have never gotten so many positive comments from other people over a hair style before! I strongly recommend Nathan. Elan in german town is one of the cutest most personal space to get one of the best hair cuts in Nashville.yes it is true that it is small but what does it matter the sse of the space when you have the beat styalist working on your hair!?! Try it you won't be disapponted! more

I can't thank Kristy enough for sharing her amazing gift with color. She more than has provided great hair possibilities for me, but she has such grace about her kindness for others. She has been the genius behind my hair for a few years now, and I am blessed by the new salon she calls home. Germantown totally ministered to me the moment I was able to walk in and sit down and enjoy the serene atmosphere and sip water with orange slices floating. Kristy Rhodes has been doing my hair for several years now, and not only is she a wonderful person, but truly amazing at cutting and coloring hair! I was a devoted client of Elan-Green Hills - had been going to Kristy FOREVER - so I would have followed her anywhere. And I did, when she moved to Elan-Germantown. I have been going to the Elan Hair studio in green hills for years and I have always gone to Kristy Lynne, she is a fabulous hair dresser to have. I honestly give her hardly anything to go off of when it comes to my hair, i just let her play with it and i always love the result. When she moved to the new Germantown location i of course moved to. The new building is wonderful, its small and very friendly. i felt way more comfortable and less intimidated by the people working. I've been to alot of salons but NEVER one as Customer Oriented as Elan's!! From the time I walked in the front door to the time I left, the entire staff were professional and courteous. Nathan was the stylist I was referred to by another one of his clients and they were SO RIGHT about him. He looked at the picture I presented and advised me on the pros and cons of the cut, and I walked out with one of the BEST haircuts I've EVER had. You will NOT be disappointed!! more

I have been going to Elan Green Hills for a little over two years. My stylist moved to the new Germantown location. I love the new location. The atmosphere is very open, welcoming, and inviting. The stylist/staff are very friendly, energetic, and personable. Kristy is fabulous! My hair is dry, frizzy, and wavy. She is always very willing to give suggestions on color and styles to best fit my hair and face. She even recommends products for my hair and takes the time to explain how to properly use them and how they will help my hair. Everyone leaves looking happy as well as fabulous. more

I got my first bikini wax at this place, and it couldn't have been a nicer experience. The place is very nice, very professional, and the lady who did my bikini wax explained everything, gave her opinion, and was very quick and efficient, which is certainly nice when getting a wax! The whole process with waiting and everything couldn't have taken more than 30 minutes. I will definitely go again. Pros: ambience, service, location, staff Cons: none! more

It isn't easy to fix a bad haircut, especially curly hair with a bad haircut! But Leah did just that, and did it with a sense of humour and non-judgemental attitude. I was lucky enough to get an appointment right away, and grateful for it. Love the energy of the place, cucumber water, the layout, the friendliness of everyone there, (I am old enough to be a grandmother to most of them.)....AND here's the best part. Wow! Elan Germantown the new little, cooler, funkier sister of the Green HIlls location. Kristy is a pro! Every staff member is poised and phenomonal. They make you look and feel like a celebrity!\r Conveniently located across the street from Germantown Cafe, spend a day with the girls, get the hair done and do lunch! Elan Germantown is a refreshing burst of high end fabulousity with down to earth stylists.\r If you are looking for that new hip look they can provide it. Not into new and hip? They can accomodate you as well! I loved Green Hills but I'm leaving it for Kristy and Germantown! You will keep coming back! more

ELAN Germantown is the new hip sibling of Elan Green Hills. It has a cool vibe and awesome stylists. Kristy is the best. She isn't afraid to push you out of your boring self and bring you up to date! Elan is fantastic! Nathan is a GEM! Although I think all of the stylists are wonderful and consistent AND proficient. I moved to Nashville from the Bay Area and have had a really hard time finding a Salon that I feel satisfied with. I have been a homeless vagabond with bad hair.... Until I found Elan.\r MY experience has been either, I was being gouged for a decent haircut & color .. or have been just out right dissatisfied with the results OR worse BOTH!\r Elan's prices are not unreasonable and their stylists are all trained well and are creative and just good at what they do.\r Nathan listens and preforms accordingly!
