D.V.D. in Decatur provided great sales recommendations, a great delivery schedule and quality installation. The electrolux washer and dryer bases were shipped with a defective latch and the service tech went out of his way to order the part and install without any inconvenience to my schedule. This type of service wouldn't be available from another appliance store. I will recommend to a friend and my family. more

We've used another big box store brand for years, but upon advice and counsel from friends, we went to Dick Van Dyke for a washer and dryer. To say my wife is satisfied is an understatement. The product (Electrolux) is great but the service is what really stands out. Kudos more

Washer is broken, customer service manager is slow and rude 12/13/2012

Our washer which was purchased here has needed repair 2 times this year. The first time took 3 weeks from the initial call and 4 service visits. 10 months later, the same parts failed + a couple of additional ones. So far, after 2 service calls and 8 days, it is still not fixed. Calls to customer service have resulted in misleading information and today the customer service manager hung up on me when I told her I was at her mercy. I had asked to talk to her manager, but have been given different reasons that he is not available. (So far have been told he was on vacation when 5 minutes earlier, the rep told me he was at lunch). It has become apparent while they have a warranty, they are slow to execute and could care less about their customers. more

Service stood by their extended warranty and replaced faulty refrigerator 11/27/2012

Purchased a new Frigidaire refrigerator in 2011 from Dick Van Dyke. After 9 months the ice maker began making noises. Service came out to repair approximately 6 times and after 4 documented repairs that did not correct the problem the refrigerator was switched out for a new refrigerator. The ice maker actually started to freeze the ice and then thaw causing leaking problems. Michel French, customer service representative was great to work with as were Rich and Jim the service personnel. Will purchase future appliances from Dick Van Dyke Appliance World and would recommend to others due to their free extended warranty. This was a frustrating process but inI the end was resolved to my satisfaction. more

Our overall experience was above average to excellent. We had to wait over two and a half months for the refrigerator we wanted, but we were not in a hurry. All the sales consultants were very helpful, polite and even when I would call on the phone I always received polite service!!Harold and the other gentleman were very respectful of our home and were very conscientious of doing good work. A standing ovation to all at Dick Van Dyke!!! more

Handled the entire process with kid gloves and made sure before he left that I was completely satisfied. Would highly recommend buying from Dick Van Dyke. Hate new appliance design, like the service 11/24/2012

Bought a dryer when my 19-year old one was pronounced unrepairable. I looked at inexpensive dryers - was not happy that they all had lint management less easy to clean than my old dryer, but that's the manufacturer decision, not Appliance World's. I think new washers and dryers have too much stuff that I will never use, and designs that will make them need more repair - why do dryers need sensors? I can manage my drying time and temperature better without them. However, Bob Turner at the store in Champaign gave me helpful information and listened to my design complaints - he helped me find the dryer closest to my wants. Installation was great - I'm as happy with my purchase as I can be given unnecessary design changes in a basic appliance. more

Customer Service Disolves After Multiple Service Calls 11/24/2012

Purchased a refrigerator with through-the-door water dispenser in August. Dispenser leaked immediately. Three service calls later we were told this unit could not be connected to a reverse osmosis water system (even though salesman, Paul, in Bloomington said refrigerator could be connected to a RO system prior to my purchase). Refrigerator continued to leak after the water line was relocated to bypass the RO system. After four more service calls, the manufacturer replaced the refrigerator. The only problem was--the new unit leaked also! After the first service call, we paid DVD to install a new stainless steel water line just to make sure the old water line was not the issue but the refrigerator still leaked to the tune of one drip every 21 seconds! After two more service calls, the DVD technician's diagnosis is we have air in our water which is causing the super sensitive water valve to malfunction and stated that this refrigerator simply won't work in our home. The manufacturer has refused to repair or replace the unit and I am disappointed that DVD concurs. So, we are left with a refrigerator that is sitting on our hardwood floor and dripping. The more we use the water dispenser, the more it leaks and we need to change the paper towel we jam in the "drip" tray multiple times throughout the day. It's easy for a business to claim great customer service when things go smoothly but customer service seems to deteriorate after 10+ service calls! more
