Baby's First Images

My husband and I set up our appointment for our first 3d ultrasound weeks ago. Needless to say, we were incredibly excited about seeing our little girl for the first time. I followed all the instructions, including drinking the water for 2 weeks (and the requisite every-five-minute bathroom breaks this required!). We drove for an hour to reach Baby's First (38 miles each way). When we arrived, there were several other couples there (we were 45 minutes early), but we were handed a consent form to look over and sign, which we did. After we were there for a full 20 minutes, the receptionist came to get the form and said, "I hope you weren't planning on getting a DVD today". Surprised, we told her that we indeed wish to get the DVD. She informed us (after already having been there 20 minutes) that the DVD machine had broken and we wouldn't be able to get one. After inquiring about whether or not we could go ahead with the session and they could record the DVD later on (not possible), we explained to the receptionist that we had driven a long way and were excited about the ultrasound. We asked if we could go ahead and get the still images today and come back for the DVD later, since the DVD was the main thing we wanted to take away from the process. She said she would make a call and find out. After a few minutes she returned to tell us that our 2 options were to reschedule or go ahead with the session and not have a DVD. Wow!! What a concession on their part, when the problem was their machine! We had done everything we were supposed to do, and they were completely unwilling to bend in any way. We informed the receptionist that we would take our business elsewhere. Apparently they would rather forfeit the entire sale than make a concession to satisfy their customers. We left extremely disappointed. Don't waste your time...we wasted our whole day! Not to mention the 2 weeks of water-drinking! Cons: Horrible service more

I would never go back to this place if they paid me. I went to the Alpharetta location. I had to wait 30 minutes for my appointment and was not happy with the images. (I did drink plenty of water.) The owner called me at 9:30 pm and told me I was trying to scam him and that I needed to "grow up and learn to live with my decisions". When I told him that I would tell all my friends and family about his horrible business practices he laughed and hung up on me! If you do not want to be pregnant and in tears, I would visit another business. The other reviews are correct if you read further. My husband and I had an amazing experience at Baby's First Images in Naperville, IL. We went at 16 weeks, 6 days to find out the gender of our baby and found out (right away) that we're expecting a little boy. The pictures we received were absolutely amazing and we cannot wait to go back as our little one gets even bigger! more

We went to the Naperville, IL location yesterday and everything went great. The staff was very courteous and flexible with our request to not have the gender of the baby included in the recorded video portion. They did a sneak peak for us before it was recorded. This took a few minutes to discuss the details of how they would go about doing this and I didn't feel they were rushing us. We drove an hour away to go to this service, bypassing many other ultrasound businesses we could have gone to, because this place had the lowest prices and best value. Copies of the DVD were only $5 each and we are giving some as Christmas gifts to our parents. The picture quality is good and they did offer to do a redo if we were unhappy, as long as we said so right away after reviewing the pictures. But we certianly are happy and will probably go back again when I'm farther along to get what they called a "chubby face" video. My wife & I visited the Alpharetta, GA location tonight and had a Great Experience! The receptionist was very friendly and accomodating. She guided us through the process from begining to end. She even entertained our kids for a moment while we chose out pictures at the end of the session. The Ultra-sound Specialist was great too. Shannon was very informative and pointed out the gender of our child within minutes of starting the process! The Visual presentation was unbelievable - Our kids were able to take part in the process by watching the overhead projector to see their little brother at play inside Mommy's Belly! We purchased the "complete package" are very satisfied! The pictures came out great and the DVD will be a cherished momento of the occasion. Lastly, the priceses were reasonable and I highly recommend my friends to use their service. My husband and I went to the Naperville location on Saturday for the quick peek and gender determination. From the moment we walked in, we could not have asked for better treatment. The receptionist was very warm and friendly and super sweet. We were called back at exactly our appointment time and the tech was exceptional. Very professional and informative, taking the time to explain exactly what we were seeing and answering any questions we had to the best of her ability. The environment was very inviting, soothing, relaxing and very well kept. We would totally recommend this location and service to anyone expecting. I have shown the pictures to all of my family, friends and co-workers and they are all impressed with the quality of the images. The images are very clear and facial detail can even be made out even though I am only 17 weeks along. The main reason for our visit was to find out the gender prior to Christmas and they were able to do this for us to our satisfaction. I went to the location in Naperville IL on North Aurora Rd and it was the BEST experience ever. I only wish i had known about it sooner. I am 35 weeks pregnant and was able to get some really nice 3D ultrasound pictures. I also have a DVD of the baby moving around and the sound of the baby's heart beat. I had 2 ultrasounds done early in my pregnancy at the hospital but they didn't convince me of the gender. Thankfully when i went to Baby's First Images, they were able to give me clear images that assured me of the gender. I am so happy that i have recommended this place to many people. We attended the Baby's First Images in Naperville, IL last night. First of all let me say how friendly and professional the staff was! I am 18 weeks pregnant and my husband and I work 2nd shift. The facility was able to book us a late night appointment and accomodate our schedule which was awesome! The tech was amazing and very thorough in her explainations, which made us feel very comfortable. Our baby had his legs crossed quite a bit, but with a little TLC finally showed us the goods! :-) We are having a boy! Today I went to Baby's first Images. This is my 3rd baby and have had numerous ultrasounds in the past. The ultrasound tech was so nice and friendly. She let us know that we are having a boy. Then she did a few 3-D images and then went back one more time to confirm that we were having a boy. I brought my husband, two kids and my mother there and there was plenty of room in the ultrasound room. My mom enjoyed being able to watch on their HUGE screen. The ultrasound tech was describing everything that was projected on the screen so that we would know what we were looking at. The receptionist was also very pleasant. All the people in there coming out of the room and checking out all had huge smiles on their faces and were thanking the ultrasound tech profusely. We had a great experience!! My fiance and I just had our anniversary today, and I planned on taking him to BFI in its Naperville location. Well we just got back and I must say some things. First of all, I cannot speak for the other location, however, the way we were treated here was close to perfection. The receptionist was warm and friendly, the tech.. my goodness.. she made me feel like we had been friends for years! The prices were very reasonable, and the office was a very calming, clean environment. Our little boy was not very cooperative. We did get some great shots, but his hand was in front of his face and he refused to move it. However, that in no way is the technician nor the company's fault. In fact the tech did everything she could to get the little guy to move his arm, but he just wouldn't! If I wasn't as far along as I am I would definitely consider getting a REDO, that is absolutely offered to everyone. It's on the bottom of the receipt they print out to you. Also I was told repeatedly that if your fluids are low this can cause blurry images (definitely not the techs or company's fault there either!) Our appointment was at 7:30, it's now after 10 pm and I have two glossy sheets of my handsome boy, a dvd recording of our entire session, and an online album that I've emailed to my entire friends and family. When we first booked an appointment here we just went to their website & signed up. The day before our appointment we saw these reviews. I have to admit I was a little concerned when I read them. I mean, an owner that cussed people out & hung up on them?? But we went anyway since we really wanted to find out the gender of our baby & see pictures. When we got there, the receptionist was very warm and polite. The place was large enough to have a party with you if wanted & very clean. We sat down & were informed they were running a few minutes behind. That was great since some of the reviews had said they just rushed you in & out so I knew that wasn't true immediately. We waited perhaps 5-6 minutes & were told they were ready for us. The technician was not only one of the nicest people I've met in a doctor's office, but WOW was she good. She literally knew it was a boy the second the ultrasound touched my wife's belly! She showed us all kinds of cool things & took some really great shots of our baby boy! We ended up getting about 13 or so shots from all angles & printed out about 3 of them from their professional printer. We talked with the receptionist some more and she told us they had just seen the terrible reviews on this site the day before. I assured them the reviews are bogus as far as I'm concerned & we are planning on going back again around our 30 week point. I can't speak for the Chicago location, but as for Alpharetta, it's simply fantastic! Pros: Great technicians, high-end technology, inviting environment Cons: Didn't really see any more

I read the owner's comments and was blown away. My wife and I were also very unhappy. The pictures were blurry and the tech rushed us through. This is clearly a volume business where getting people out the door is the first priority. He never offered a reshoot. That is what we were asking for, and he was arrogant, rude and condescending. He refused a reshoot when we asked for one. On the phone, this guy sounds like he is a young guy, inexperienced and with absolutely no idea of customer relations much less satisfaction. Pregnancy is an emotional experience for a woman, and seeing pictures of her child is amazing. This guy turned it into a debacle, with my wife crying and upset for days. Stay away from this guy and his business, if you want your wife to have a good experience. Cons: Poor quality and rude service more

Hello: My name is Chris Waddell, the owner of Baby's First Images. First off, thank you taking the time to research our company. I am posting here to address the few complaints (some unfactual) since the thousands we have served since 2003. As you know, there is two sides to each story. I personally handled the issues here. Many were even handled with the B B Bureau, for which they upheld our practices and policies. To say that our company did not work with these people is just not true. Let me explain how these ladies and you would be welcomed at our facility. First off, we have an amazing state of the art studio. Once your session starts, our Certified Ultrasound Technologists perform every skill possible to get you the best images they can get [based on what poses your baby is giving]. Most of the time, we get our expectant mothers amazing images and the experience for the thousands of our clients have been remarkable. But, do some babys fail to cooperate? Sure. This is where we feel we take our level of customer service to a higher level. The simple truth, ultrasound is like a camera - it takes pictures of whatever is placed in front of it. Because some babys just don't cooperate, I have always made an executive decision to offer clients the opportunity to come back for a complete REDO session [at a financial loss for the company] just because we want everyone to get great images. Fair? The people posting negative comments here were offered this generousity and all sessions were performed completely. But when their babies did not cooperate [and we still tried to work with them] they wanted refunds because their baby did not give them images they liked. This is when the stories began to be fabricated/unfactual. This is a service producing very natural images and we, the thousands of moms we have served and the B B Bureau feel we are more than fair in our practices. You will too. Thanks for hearing our side. DON'T go to Baby's 1st Images! They offer poor images, unbelievably rude service, and defective end product. The US tech took only a dozen pictures and spent more time on 2d (gray) images than 3d. The tech ended our session after 15 minutes (instead of the advertised 25-30 minutes), and we couldn't hear the heartbeat on DVD. Baby's 1st refused to work with us or offer any concession for the defective product, saying if we wanted to hear the heartbeat, we would have to schedule a "redo" session, pay an additional $25 fee, and lose all images from the 1st visit (not that they were any good). During our 2nd session, we had the exact same problems -- tech tried to end the session after 15 minutes & heartbeat couldn't be heard on DVD. We were told that the office staff couldn't make any changes, and that we would have to talk to the owner via telephone, through the "call center". The call center was closed, so we had to PAY IN FULL and call the owner, Chris Waddell, the next day. Chris is the rudest, most unprofessional person I have ever dealt with. He was belligerent, defensive, and went on the attack, refusing to offer any concession whatsoever for our aggravation. After 30 minutes of him yelling at me (7 months pregnant), he hung up on me. We later went to STORK SNAPSHOTS in Naperville and had a wonderful experience, got 71 good images, and a 30-minute DVD w/heartbeat. The last thing a pregnant mom needs is aggravation and disappointment at Baby's First Images. DON'T GO THERE! We were dissatisfied with the quality of their service. When we complained, the owner told us that we were trying to scam him and we made the decision to chose the location so we needed to learn to live with our decision. He was very unprofessional and screamed at us until he hung up when I told him I would complain about the service to other people. We were not even asking for a refund. I have never been treated so poorly in my life. Sadly, it ruined the whole 3D ultrasound experience for me and my family and left me in tears. Cons: Abusive treatment more
