BUYERS BEWARE!!!!!! 6/24/2009

My husband & I went in to buy a 2003 Honda Element in 2007, and were led to believe it had no previous accidents or damages. Long story short, the A/C is destroyed, and the radiator needed serious work. Aside from selling us this POS, they have not responded to any letters or emails we have sent them. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!! And they're lucky they got 1 star, CitySearch wouldn't let me publish with no stars! Pros: none Cons: condescending, rude, unethical more

decent so far 5/9/2009

I went in last summer to get a brand new 08 civic, black on black, they said it would take a month for them to have a black civic with black leather shipped, and I didn't want to wait that long so I went with the black cloth interior. I didn't get my hopes up because I have pretty bad credit and was denied months earlier by another dealer ship. At first they said they were waiting to hear back from lenders. 3 days passed and I figured no one wanted to approve me, but about a week after my initial visit I got a call saying I was approved, I was totally surprised. Of course my interest rate was about 13% which is high, but I accepted it. They had to get the car from charlotte I believe, which took a few extra days. I traded in my current car, and they wouldn't pay what it was worth (about $4k), but did pay off the remaining balance( which was like $2k), so I ended up loosing money in the end. The staff was nice, I brought my small minpin dog, in my purse each time, and they never once told me I couldn't have him in there, so that made me super happy. more

BEWARE...Never buy from Auto Park Honda - Cary..Got to Leith Honda on Capital Blvd‎ 3/6/2009

I recently bought a Honda Odessey from Cary Auto Park. I had a pre-buy and post-buy bad experiences from them. Read on..While I was doing my rate-comparison search, I got a quote from Leith Honda, Capital Blvd, Raleigh. Then I went to Cary Auto Park Honda and told the quote. The Sales guy tells me that since you got this quote verbally, Leith Raleigh may not have included the trasnportation fees etc. Hence get the quote written on paper (tell him that you are applying for a loan and he will give it) and then Leith Honda Cary will beat it and at the most match it. I went to Leith Raleigh, got the quote for 29,999 (Jan 09 last week). When I brought this to Leith Cary. First he did all the drama of his manager not able to beat the price. Worse he did not even match it. Finally I bought it for 30 grand (paying $1 more). Then I got to this finance person, he sold a third-rated (I called it Third-rated as it is Third-party and not Honda warranty) warranty called CNA, which has less coverage than Honda Direct Warranty for the same Silver Level. Lucky for my friend (who was also supposed to buy from Cary Leith Honda, but had drop off due to some financial obligations), who is thanking his heavens that he did not get duped like me. For a good amount of other reasons, a month later he went to Leith Raleigh and bought similar Odyssey like me and what a service he received from them. The Financier there was a customer-centric guy who gave my friend options on warranty - CNA or Honda Direct. And Honda Direct costs little bit more than CNA. But I was fooled to believe that there is only one warranty that is CNA. Read on..still worse part. The financier at Leith Raleigh tells us that Leith makes some kick-backs, if they sell CNA and hence I was drawn into taking it. Recently Honda Cary conducted a survey over phone and when I told about this dis-service, the lady simply hung-up on me. I will never go again nor refer any friends. more

Service Department Needs To Learn Proper Customer Service 12/15/2008

They would not fix my vans problems that should have been covered under warranty because they either couldn't hear the same noises I do on a cold day, or it ould have been excessive usage???. But, once I took a civic in and told them " I think I need a new clutch" they put a new one without argument and diagnoses. Guess what: it wasn't the clutch, but they didn't refund my money and said we did what we were told. Pros: hondas Cons: bad service more

Great sales dpt....poor service dpt 11/21/2008

we've had 2 issues with the service dpt here. Most recently we brought my wife's minivan in to install XM. Upon the first visit which took 4+ hrs. they had the wrong kit & were unable to complete the job. We were understanding of this and told the cable should be in the next day and take 15mn to complete (they would contact us). No call the next day or following day. We contacted them and were told it was having to be shipped from WA and they would call us when it's in. No call again so we contact them on Fri and were told it's in but that the Svc lady handling our order would need to call us back. No call back (sensing a trend?) so we called back and got her on the phone. She once again said it would take 15 mn and to bring it in for the cable installation (this was 11am). After an hour at the shop my wife asked what the ETA was on finishing the job. The Svc person said she would go check and get an answer. 20 mn later and she's nowhere to be seen. Another individual at the desk informed us we need to be understanding of the volume they were handling...no apology, more to the tone of we should expect these type of delays. Meanwhile our 2 children under 4 are melting down b/c they're hungry and it's close to nap. After 1 hr 45mn it was finally finished (once again w/no apology). As my wife was expressing her displeasure the Svc lady wouldn't even look at her, rather just answered ""u-huh"" as she typed. The XM docs that we were told would be in the passenger seat were not so my wife has to go back in to get them. THE KICKER? The Svc lady blames us saying the reason they weren't is b/c ""we were in a rush"". We had an awesome experience buying the vehicle. Problem is that is a fraction of the time you actually deal w/this dealership. Majority is the Service Dpt. One upside is the Service Dpt Mgr is very professional to deal with (not so much the frontline people). A lot of things can be overlooked if people are apologetic..just wasn't there. Pros: Great Sales Dpt, Svc Dpt Manager very professional Cons: LONG wait on Svc Dpt. Svc Dpt frontline just don't care more

2009 EX-L Odyssey experience 10.4.08 10/4/2008

I emailed five dealerships to find if any would offer a price close to invoice. Knowing Honda dealers receive at least 3% holdback under invoice, invoice was my goal. Of three dealerships within $200 of each other, Auto Park Honda in Cary was the closest geographically and the lowest price by a mere $100. I received a price from an online sales girl, and was arranged to meet a sales guy, Ed, for a test drive of I car I already knew I wanted. I signed and walked 3hrs and 10 minutes after shaking hands the first time with Ed. I did not dicker on the "Internet only" price because I felt invoice (per Edmunds) was a fair price to pay. The F&I manager, John, was as straightforward as one could expect for and F&I guy, and I mean that sincerely even if it's a poke at the industry in general for attempting to sell you all sorts of warranties you run a low percentage chance of needing. I can't begrudge someone trying to make a living in a marketplace where the edge is lower for the dealership than it was 10 years ago, and John was professional even while insisting that GAP coverage is a good purchase. At no time did I feel disrespected or belittled for disagreeing with him, and for a profession I generally joke about as one that lies for a living, he seemed more sincere than most F&I guys I've dealt with in the past - although I still doubt his claim that the dealership took a $30 loss on my sale just because I'm likely to bring in other customers, buy more cars in the future, and use the dealership service. Anyway, I enjoyed the experience overall and would have done it again if starting from scratch. Pros: Straightforward Internet pricing Cons: F&I is still F&I after all these years... at least without the hard sell at Auto Park more

Great Car 7/23/2008

This is second Honda I bought from Autopark Honda salesman,Don Hillenbrand. He is low pressure and not pushy. He listens to our needs and spends as much time as we need. We love our new 08 Honda Accord. Everyone at the dealership has treated us very well. The last car I bought from Don, I purchased on Sat. afternoon. They were very busy and I had to wait a bit longer than I wanted. I have recommended Don to a couple of my friends. Pros: Great car and buying experience Cons: Busy on Sat. afternoons more

Highly pleased with my transaction 7/4/2008

I just purchased an 08 Honda Accord for my wife. I found my experience with all of the Honda people I dealt with to be completely honest and up front. I did negotiate my price and I felt that they were up front and honest with me. I was given the highest respect possible. I dealt with Johanna, Jean and Boris. I felt as if I had made some new friends. It was obvious that they wanted to be sure my wife and I were completely happy with our purchase. We really love our Accord and feel as if we made the very best deal possible. If you want a pleasant car buying experience I would highly recommend Johanna Magee and Jean French. Besides being attractive they are up front, honest and sincere. No double talk there.. Pros: They will really try hard to work with you. Cons: They are very busy and sometimes things take a little long than usual. But it may be worth it. more
