As a non-smoker, I was disappointed when I realized that patrons could smoke both on the outdoor patio and inside the restaurant (although that seemed to be going on at the bar). However, I could smell the smoke and was very disgusted. When we walked in, we sat ourselves at a table in the corner. After waiting a little longer than acceptable, we flagged down a server to inquire as to the location of our actual server. He finally came, and was very helpful when he came over. Although my friend was a little slow at deciding what he wanted, the server was very patient and helped us pick our drinks. The drink menu was small, and consisted of a list of martinis and available spirits. I actually ordered a French martini with the help of the server and found it to be wonderful. For food, I ordered the portobello mushroom sandwich and enjoyed it for it was. I think that the prices are great here, but the variety is limited. There were maybe 5 entrees, a sandwich list, a pasta list, and a breakfast list. Maybe salads too, I can't remember. I am a much bigger fan of Cafe Intermezzo. Unfortunately, we went on a Friday night and the music was loud and smoke was wafting throughout the restaurant. This really compromised any romantic or relaxed ambiance that I had heard about. Overall, my first visit was about average and I would only return here instead of Cafe Intermezzo if I didn't feel like driving far from where I live. Also, if I didn't mind the smoke.
Pros: Stays open late but kitchen closes earlier than 2 a.m.
Cons: smoking
