Probably the best Korean food in Nashville 7/28/2006

Well, that's not saying much. There isn't a good Korean restaurant in Nashville. You just have to accept it. Because of that, Midori stands out because it's not so horrible as the others. The first time we had Midori, we actually ate there. The food was very good. The second time, we got our food to go. Our pajun was burnt and rock hard (which is what happens if you microwave it too many times). Our nak-ji-bok-eum (stir-fried octopus, which is tastier than it sounds) wasn't so great either. What few pieces we had of the octopus were swimming in a pool of the sauce, which isn't really desirable in a stir-fry. The nastiest part though was that we found rice (old, stuck-together kind) in the bahn-chan. We stopped eating after that. I think it's pretty customary for Korean restaurants to ""recycle"" their bahn-chans. It's nasty, but I think a lot of them do it. A lot of restaurants in bigger cities make a point of dumping out the bahn-chan in a recycling tray/bin at the table when they clear the tables, but apparently, such sanitary practice is not practiced at Midori. Eat there at your own risk. Pros: not bad Korean food Cons: sketchy "recycling" practice with the food more
