Dishonest - Bad Services - Bad Customer Service 12/1/2010

We are a rental company and have used West Coast Chief Repair several times. They offer a lot of services. However, the scheduling and follow through with appointments is never good. They always have some excuse as to why they are not able to make the appointment. ...9 times out of 10 they haven't shown up in the time they scheduled, canceled or rescheduled the appointment 15 minutes before the time slot they gave. We just had West Coast replace a floor heater in our 1940's rental in Santa Monica. The repairman came 2 hours after the schedule window of time. In addition, they removed and "DISPOSED OF" the original cast iron floor grate that covered the heater opening and replaced it with a cheap "NEW" one that is 5 inches too short!!! Now I have a missing cast iron floor grate that was original to the building and a whole in the floor. DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL!!!!!!!! more

I called on a Saturday, even with a time restriction (I had to leave by 3). They said "no problem" and Sergey showed up at my door around 2:15, even with a call 30 minutes before to let us know he was on his way! Sergey was fast, efficient, and knowledgeable, as well as very professional and kind. He fixed our problem in our washer, and then even got a bump out of the exterior of the machine for us! Great service, prompt! Thanks so much Sergey! more

I own a 45-year-old Furnace and wanted to know if it was still safe to use. I left a message on the Service Magic Web Site for a Furnace checkup. Within 3 minutes I received a call from Michael at West Coast Chief Repair. I explained to Michael that I wanted a serviceman to check the air output for Carbon Monoxide. Michael set up an appointment for a serviceman to check out my Furnace. The morning of the appointment I received a call from Kevin at West Coast Chief Repair. He said he would be at my home in 30 minuets. He was on time! He spent 30 minutes checking the burners & checking the vents for Carbon Monoxide output. He did a good job. more

The WORST service ever! The problem was MISDIAGNOSED! = Wrong part replaced - 2nd Technician DID NOT fixed the problem! He was not sure what was wrong with my fridge: He recommeded I replace a series of parts that he felt might be the problem. With no Guaratee the Fridge would work? more

Worked Perfectly 10/11/2010

Aug 28, 2010. I had a refridgerator failure during last weeks heat wave. It was a ten year old, expensive Kitchenaid. Kitchenaid basically said that it was unrepairable because the serial # was missing so it would be impossible to get parts. I found West Coast online and they called me back in 30 SECONDS!!! Thats at 10 o'clock at night. Their man, Vladimir, came the next morning. He diagnosed it as a fan problem, found the part #, got the part and installed it for under $300. He did say that it might be computer related, but that would be much more money, so we did the fan first. The fridge and freezer are both working perfectly. I could not ask for more. Great service, Put a query up on ServiceMagic for a/c repair and they called me with an immediate appointment before I could log off computer. Eugene was courteous, knowledgeable and explained everything. We were dealing with a 20 year old central system in 105 degree weather so I knew I ran the risk of being held hostage to any b.s. If they had told me the compressor was shot and I had no choice except a new $5k system I would have probably seen no recourse. Instead, Eugene worked quickly to identify the problem and found one burned out component in the compressor on the roof. Up and running 20 minutes later for $185. Fabulous. Best part was, unlike other previous a/c repair services, no hustle, no attempt to sell me a seasonal service contract, now hawking of a car of filters for the next ten years. Just great professional service under conditions that opened the door to any rip-offs more

the Cheif A/C repairman came out yesterday to diagnose my air cond. problem and again today to fix it. He and his assistant brought a new Rheem condensor to replace my old one that had failed, which was obviously the problem. The new part turned out to be a defective one and instead of canceling the job or putting it off (on a Friday) till the next week waiting for a part, they drove miles to get an available replacement, returned and had us up and running by nightfall. I'll happily recommend West Coast and call myself for any future repair needs that come up. Thanks to your team more

Very reliable and honest staff. My a/c broke on probably one of the hottest days in Woodland Hills. The technician came within an hour after I made the call and fixed the problem and at a very reasonable price!! Thank you very much and I highly recommend West Coast Chief Repair! more

Shows up on time 9/17/2010

Wow, my experience couldn't be more different than a lot of people here. I thought my pilot light went out in my oven. I waited for the gas company to come and relight it, and when the guy showed up, he told me that it had an electric ignition switch, and that I would have to call an actual repairman. Since I had already taken time off work for this thing, I found West Coast online and they even had a same day appointment available. The guy shows up on time, fixes the ignition switch and it's good as new. And it didn't cost me an arm and a leg. It doesn't come a lot better than that! more

Reasonably priced 9/10/2010

I've had them come out on several occasions as they are the company that my home warranty contracts with to do our repairs. I've never had any issue with them. They show up on time. The repairs are reasonably priced. My home warranty expired 6 months ago and I had them come out to fix my dryer today, so I had to actually pay this time. They got the repair done quickly and professionally and I would highly recommend them to anyone. I know they have different service people for different jobs in various locations but the people who serve the Long Beach area are fantastic. more

This company is the biggest joke in this city. Never have I been greeted by a technician who confronts me with hostility as soon as I open the door. I felt like I was about to be whacked.
