Letter sent Certified Mail on October 19, 2008 to West Coast Chief Repair explaining the steps I took to resolve technicians mistake. Needed to seek alternative housing (local pet friendly hotel) due to temperatures reaching 90'c+. West Coast Chief Repair prolonged fixing their mistake and after two weeks waiting, the technician removed the incorrect motor and reinstalled original (non-functioning) motor. Also at the initial visit, the technician insisted the unit be replaced - at a cost of $5400, then lowered the price to $2300, and after my decline, offered to replace the motor at a cost of $775. When the technician realized his mistake, I was charged $175. The $175 charge consisted of an incorrect installed motor and their $55 service charge. I paid the stated amount and immediately contacted Mike at West Coast Chief Repair. After obtaining two separate opinions from HVAC professionals, I informed Mike of their findings and he offered to replace the motor. I scheduled the replacement motor visit for the next available date they could complete the work. Mike confirmed the repair for six days from my call (July 3). The technician arrived on site and to my disbelief, he removed the wrong motor he installed eleven days earlier and re-installed the original motor that I called to be replaced. With the visit landing on the holiday weekend, I was unable to have the repairs completed until the following Thursday. I was forced to relocate away from home, with my dog, nineteen days
