After doing some crazy things to my hair in the past year or so, I found that my hair was completely fried and was in dire need of a cut. My goal was to get it looking healthy again, and at the same time not have it be boring. I wasn't exactly sure what I was looking for, to be perfectly honest. I just wanted something that didn't suck.
I walked into the salon and was greeted by Stephanie at reception. She probably could have been more cheerful but my guess is she had a long/bad day. I filled out a survey about my hair and my expectations for my stylist, which was kind of interesting. Then I was greeted by Elisha, who sat me down and spent 15 minutes having a conversation with me about what I wanted. I was all over the place and had a lot of trouble expressing what I wanted in words, and I can only imagine how frustrating I must have been. But Elisha stayed professional and courteous and told me what she thought I was trying to say and what she thought would look good on me, without making me feel bad for being a complete mess. I felt like I could trust her, despite having had bad experiences in the past with other stylists, so I told her to do what she thought would be best.
After our conversation she took me to the massage-chair wash basins and gave me a great scalp massage during the shampoo. Then she worked her magic with the cut and style, and I could tell she wasn't trying to rush and she really took her time with my hair. I asked her to teach me as she was going, and she was happy to educate me on how to style my hair for lots of volume and movement. I felt like I was a very important client with the amount of care and attention she gave me and my hair.
The end result is that I absolutely adore my haircut. It is different from anything else I've had in the past, and I love it! It's fun, moveable, manageable, and most of all it looks really healthy. I highly recommend Elisha to anyone looking for a fantastic cut, along with great service. I always used to avoid going to the salon because every time I go I end up with a bad or just okay haircut. I certainly see myself making appointments more regularly now that I've found Elisha!
PS - for a simple wash/cut/dry for mid-chest length straight hair it cost $45, which may seem a bit pricey but I don't regret it one bit. I walked out of there feeling brand new and it was totally worth it. Make an appointment today!
Pros: Great stylist, cute atmosphere, massage chairs!
Cons: Price maybe, but it's worth it in the end
