I was flying in on Tuesday from out of town to look at a used Mercedes Sprinter. I called Rolph's on Monday and they squeezed me in -- the inspection was not only thorough it was finished before I left home so that I had the results in hand when buying the van. That's great service. more

I have been taking my cars to Rolf's for any needed service and repairs for several years now. On my most recent visit to have my brakes replaced, even though the wrong parts were delivered earlier in the day and they had to wait for the right parts, they stayed an hour past closing to finish the job instead of having me come back the following day. The final bill was also a little less than they had estimated. These are good people who are fair and do a great job. As long as I own European cars, I will continue to go to Rolf's. Under no circumstances go here - they are thieves and liars!!!! I took my car in for a simple brake job. They also took a look at the engine, since it was running rough for a few seconds after it was started when it was cold. I was very clear when I dropped off the car at 7:45am that I needed the brakes done that day, so that I could use the car for work the next business day. They stated they understood. I talked to them again around 1:30pm - they hadn't started any work, but they stated that they would get the parts and complete the brake work that very day, with "no problems at all" before they closed at 5:30pm. I then called at 4pm to check on the status of the work. They stated that the work was done and that I could come pick it up anytime. I drove the 45 minutes over to there and paid the $800 for the brakes. When they brought the car around, the navigation screen still had the warning that the brakes needed to be changed. I went back in, assuming it was just a simple reset of the warning light. It turns out, THEY NEVER DID ANY WORK AT ALL!!!! The new brake parts were still on the shelf. They were very happy and willing to have me pay $800 for work that was never done, and to drive off without informing me that they hadn't done any work. That is FRAUD!!!!! They then just wanted to make the problem go away. They refunded my money and I left. I took a whole day off of work, spent > 2 hours driving back and forth, and was cheated in the end. They are completely despicable and untrustworthy. They will lie to you, not do work, and charge you for it as well. If they can't handle a simple brake pad replacement, then there is no level of job, no matter now small, that they CAN do appropriately. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!! Tim, I am very sorry and embarrassed by what had happened to you and your vehicle. I understand your frustration with our company and there are no excuses for what had happened. We had a new service adviser who I thought was ready to assist our customers and as it turned out I was wrong. They need more time following the other advisers as they missed the process of communicating back to the technician that the brakes were the only service being performed today. Our technician was under the impression that the vehicle would stay until Monday morning so he could follow-up on the rough running concern when the vehicle is cold. We would never knowingly charge a customer for repairs that were not performed, We have been in business for almost 45 years and have a reputation for being fair and professional. I know there is nothing we can do to earn your business but I would like to know if there is anything we can do for wasting your time, i.e fuel costs, bridge tolls, etc. I hope to hear from you and again I am very sorry for the let down in our company. I find Rolf's in Fife to be an excellent service facility. They are very helpful by providing transportation home to enable me to carry out the day's activities while the auto is being repaired. The car is returned clean and service is performed as promised. more

This was the first time I worked with Rolf's Import Auto Service. They repaired a faulty seat belt buckle on my Porsche 911. It was a simple service, but the repair went fine and cost was reasonable. I have no complaints about their service. The technicians were not pushy with their sales and were pleasant throughout the process. I would recommend them. more

Recently, I purchased a 2012 GTI which I have Rolf's perform a comprehensive inspection. They were honest, thorough, and keep me informed of their findings. The real difference is their customer first attitude, which I believe set them apart from the other shops. more

I have been a customer of Rolf's Import Auto Service for about four or five years. They service my 2005 mini cooper. I go to them for yearly services. I have gone to them when my clutch ran out and also when my car overheated. I go to the shop in Lakewood. The staff is awesome. There is a lady there named Linda and I love her to death! She takes really good care of me. I would recommend their service. more

My auto was serviced at Rolf's in Fife. I was able to get in early and rear brakes and oil service were completed in a few hours. This allowed me to accomplish all of what I had planned for the day. All work was explained and I have a very good idea of items to monitor that will need attention in the future. more

We've been happy Rolf's customer for several years up until recently. We developed a problem with the auto door locks on our VW Eurovan. After a day in the shop, new parts were ordered for two of the doors. 1 of the parts came in a day. The door was repaired & the van returned to us. When the other part came ~3 days later, we brought our van in to repair the other door. When we picked up our "repaired" van, we were charged roughly $1000. Shortly afterwards the door again began malfunctioning and this time the van was in the shop for 4 days while replacement parts were in transit. Once the parts were installed the door was finally fixed. I was told that this last trip to Rolfs was due to a spring not being installed the first time around which caused the replacement part to break. Even with half the labor costs taken off the bill we still were out an additional $200 dollars. We shouldn't have been charged for parts or labor since this last repair was due to a part not being installed correctly. Even if the part was defective, we shouldn't be charged. The manufacturer or parts distributor should. Not only were we overcharged, but we were without our van for ~6 days. Finally, to add insult to injury, we immediately began having problems with starting the car after the last repair and found the overhead dome light had been switched on while in the shop. I ended up replacing the battery at an additional $180. Rolf's will not work on the Eurovan again and we'll be taking our van elsewhere from this point forward. We'll also be writing online reviews and telling our friends not to use Rolf's. We used to be happy customers, but not anymore. We should have listen better to the information you had gathered and relayed it better to the technician, We could have communicated better on the fact that some vehicles parts are harder to source and can take longer to receive and should have never charged for a component that could have questionably been damaged from one of our technicians.
