Great service, great food, gorgeous and unusual desserts 7/17/2010

We eat here whenever we can. Wonderful Chinese food. Our favorites are the egg drop soup and Mongolian beef. It's in one of those corner mall locations next to a smoke shop, so on our first visit we were thinking ""ordinary."" WE WERE WRONG! We were pleasantly surprised at how fresh and tasty the menu is. They have two large display sections for desserts, which are in the French/Asian style. Reminds me of my stay in Japan. They also have a wide selection of specialty drinks, including bubble drinks. Yummy! We only wish the space was larger. The space is used effectively, but I think with a better location and more seating, more people would try it. Pros: Food, service Cons: Needs more space more

Busy lunch. Great fried noodles. 6/15/2010

I agreed with the other reviewer that during lunch time, that place is too busy. I feel that I am always rushed to leave. I enjoy take out of ""BBQ pork fried noodle"" and a cup of bubble tea. Best combo ever. Yum! Pros: Great noodles. Cons: Too busy at lunch. more

Bad customer service but decent food 3/4/2010

I do takeouts from this place because the food is decent but the customer service is terrible. The owner is arrogant and always in a hurry. Once I asked for medium spicy and they made the food so spicy that I could not eat it and when I compained they said that I should specify exactly how spicy etc. Pros: Good food for takeout Cons: Bad customer service, arrogant owner more

Good food, decent prices 6/13/2009

Regent's has reasonably good Chinese food, with some unusual choices compared to your average places (steamed duck in noodles). I've gone several times for lunch and dinner. The half roast duck is a favorite among my friends (oily but very yummy), as is tomato beef. Pros: Tasty bakery treats Cons: To-the-point service more

Great Food and Great Price 2/24/2009

I always try the cake from Regent and always know that it is really great and delicious! I went for dinner with friends last night. It was my first time to try the dinner at Regent. It was surprisingly great!! It was really authentic Hong Kong style food. I really love the crispy noodle chow mein with BBQ Pork. My friend tried the Roast Duck noodle soup and it was amazingly great too! The BBQ Pork and Roast Duck were freshly made and tasted extremely well! Another friend also tried the fried tofu with mixed vegetables and it was also fresh and yummy! I would love to try other items on the menu. After dinner, of course we could not resist to have their cakes. My favourite is the mango mousse cake. It is just excellent. My friends tried the black forest and chocolate banana and it was great as expected too! I think the price are reasonable. I went to the H-mart mall in Lynnwood in the weekend and found out that the bakery items in Lynnwood is actually more expensive than Bellevue. I am just glad to live in Bellevue with Regent being around. Pros: Great Food, Great Price, Excellent Cake with Variety of Selection, Great Location in Bellevue/Redmond Cons: Small Restaurant more

Amazing Fruit Cake - Everyone loves it! 12/14/2008

My company ordered a big fruit cake for holiday party from Regent Bakery. It was so great!! Everyone loved the cake and asked where to order. I found that the cake was from Regent Bakery. I was so glad that it is close to my neighborhood in Overlake Bellevue. I just got a chance to check it out recently. There is much more variety, although I still like the fruit cake the most. The place is small and clean. I also got to try out the buns and bubble tea. Surprisingly great as well. Pros: Great fruit cake and a wide variety of cakes Cons: Found out that the bakery is open at 9am. I work in the early morning shift. Would be better if it's at 7am or earlier. more

Bad customer service 10/22/2008

So you go in because the cakes are highly recommended. Then you say are they worth the bad customer srevice? The taste of the cake pieces is very good and too bad it is the opposite of the treatment. What would you loose when you are nice to your customers, don't rush them, and be more organized? Pros: Great tasting cake pieces, big variety. Cons: Bad customer service, new customers won't understand their system. more

Worst chinese place to go for food...go only if you want to be exploited 7/14/2008

Food is good but the sevice is terrible. They treat you like you are the 3rd world country people begging him for food. The stuff they sell is not cheap. All they want is you pay the $ and get out of their face.... I wish the health official visit their shop and busted their license b/c of sanitory issues. Do youself a favour and have some pride in yourself. Walk 1 mintue to your left and have Vietenamise noodles instead. Your dignity is worth more than the price of an egg tart / bbq bun / cancer causing bubble tea chemical drink. Pros: food taste good Cons: If you are into being abused, go there more

Nice food but arrogant owner 7/10/2008

Food is really great. One of the best pastries, but owner or people working there are really arrogant. They need to learn how to be polite to customers. Pros: best pastries and food Cons: very arrogant owner and waiters more

Best Black Forest Cake I've had! Good for kids! 3/2/2008

I found out about this quaint secret hideout in Redmond after playing the popular video game ""Portal"" which made many references to delicious cake and other baked goods. In an interview lead project designer Kim Swift revealed that the magnificent looking cake came from this source so I just knew that in my upcoming trip up north that I had to stop by and try their Black Forest Cake featured at the end of Portal. It is simply one of the best tasting as well as looking cakes I've had the pleasure of having, a scrumptious crumbly combination of cocoa, vanilla and liqueur. If my little cousins weren't with me, I would have probably ate up everything. (They have great seating for kids by the way.) The only downside to my experience was the extreme catastrophe the manifested from the sugar high in the children. Kids and sugar in cars are never a pleasant ordeal. I recommend this to anyone stopping by the Seattle area. more

I am so thankful that Regent Bakery exists! 12/17/2007

I made a profile just to give Regent a good review. I'm so glad I found this place! The prices are amazing, most buns are $1.50, and all the other baked goods and sweets are cheap too. I just finished a dinner of two pork hom bow and a creme puff for dessert, and I couldn't be happier with the prices and quality. Pros: Parking, Prices, Quality, Everything! Cons: None! more

Favorite Hole-in-the-Wall 2/7/2007

This is probably one of my proudest discoveries. Asian bakery featuring some of the most delecious and beautiful cakes and pasteries you'll ever see. They not only feature sweets, but delecious looking (I've never had any; i'm a veggie) savory buns stuffed with ham and pork, as well as a full resteraunt menu, and even a wide selection of bubble tea, espresso, and oher drinks. I love the bubble teas; they're big, sweet and perfect for grab-and-go, but if i have time to stay, a sweet coconut bun or sponge cake and cup of jasmine tea is the perfect respite. Cons: Small-ish, and overly simple dining area more
