After filling in my project info on Service Magic, I got the call from a nice man from Prime Time, to whom I further explained the scope and nature of the project--1950's brick ranch home with copper gutters--he quickly assured me that it would cost "70-80 bucks, max." I said yes and he sent someone out that afternoon. Unfortunately the man who arrived came back down off the roof after a few minutes and said that we have oversized gutters and that we have gutters all the way around the house, so it would cost about double the estimate (140 or so)! Our construction family built our home, and we are sure that the gutters are standard size, and that it's normal to have gutters all the way around the house! I was going to refuse the service at the new price, but he called the office, where a lady thankfully brought the price back to 80$. The service man might have been in a hurry, he seemed to have someone in the car waiting for him and it was a hot day... It worked out ok, but it was an odd experience. My husband ended up having to get on the roof the next day and grab piles of junk out of the corners, right above the gutters; last time we had "gutter cleaning" service, that man seemed to clean the whole roof of debris and take it away with him in bags, too.
