Port of Call is a New Orleans gem, a real, honest-to-goodness JOINT that does not pretend to be anything but a dive (New Orleans-speak for ""Casual Restaurant-Bar for the Locals""...

Perfect 10 Burer 11/16/2002

Best burger - thick, juicy and quality beef. The freshly grated cheddar is key. You may have to wait awhile so don't drink too many monsoons. Only problem is that there are no fries. more

Juicilicious 11/8/2002

The King of Burgers...worth the wait. If you're ever in the mood for a burger and baked potato, this is sure to satisfy your craving. And if you're going to eat a burger- eat a burger! Order it topped with cheddar, and get your potato loaded. It's food that makes you genuinly happy. Pros: best burgers Cons: long waits, bad parking more

Huge Burger for the Price 10/23/2002

The Best Burgers in town! Its a favorite place to go for a late night meal. The baked potatoes are huge and a meal in itself! The pizzas are even good. The wait may be a bit long during peak times, but it is worth the wait! more

Tourists 10/10/2002

Port of Call is regarded as the best burger in New Orleans, but I think people are just caught up in the hype. I've had a Port of Call burger and while it's a great burger it is definitely not the best in New Orleans. Try the Moonlight Cafe in the Garden district. From the first bite to the last I felt like I was at a bbq eating the best grilled burger I have had before or since. Pros: Huge burger, baked potato Cons: crowded w/ tourists more

Good Burgers but.. 9/14/2002

i love the Burgers here - but it is in a pretty dodgy area - especially at night. The drinks are gigantic and pretty ridiculous - besides what goes better with a burger than a beer? more
