Best

Port of Call is a New Orleans gem, a real, honest-to-goodness JOINT that does not pretend to be anything but a dive (New Orleans-speak for ""Casual Restaurant-Bar for the Locals""...

good, not exceptional, meat between a bun, service average, average burger

Never Visit NOLA without eating here! 1/23/2003

I don't know if it's the monstrous baked potato or the 3-cups of grated cheese on the gigantic burger - no, I do know - it's the 3-cups of grated cheese that comes on your hamburger. We never leave a NOLA trip without eating at the Port. Expect to hang out a while if you're arriving during peak times. It's SO worth the wait. Pros: Food, Location more

This was my favorite New Orleans place for filet mignon. I stood at the door waiting to put my name on the list for about 20 minutes but the hostess never took my name. I would try to get her attention but she would walk by. This happened a few times until I realized she was ignoring me on purpose. When she finally did take my name she had so much attitude I almost left right then, but I was with a friend who really wanted to have his steak at this place. We waited on the sidewalk with a few other groups. After about 45 mins I went back to see how much longer. I asked the hostess where we were on the list. She replied ""Woops"" in a really sarcastic tone. She was horrible and shouldnt be dealing with the public. She made me decide to never return. Pros: good filet mignon, special cocktails, server was good Cons: hostess from hell, she mightn't like you, make u wait an hour more

Worth the Trip! 1/12/2003

I live 200 miles from this restaurant, but I assure you, though it is only a burger, it is the BEST burger any restaurant has ever offered and is definitely worth the trip! Couple this with a Monsoon drink (another Port O'Call specialty), and you are set to enjoy the rest of the day in the French Quarter blissfully content! Pros: Great Food, Superb Service, Wonderful Drinks Cons: Poor Parking, Small Dining Area, LONG wait sometimes more
