Best

Port of Call is a New Orleans gem, a real, honest-to-goodness JOINT that does not pretend to be anything but a dive (New Orleans-speak for ""Casual Restaurant-Bar for the Locals""...

AMAZING HAMBURGER!! 6/20/2004

I consider myself to be somewhat of a hamburger connossieur. I've had hamburgers all over the world, and I've got to say, the MONSTER burger at Port of Call is one of the best I've ever eaten. If you haven't had one yet, do yourself a favor, and go try one today! Pros: Great burgers, Fun atmosphere, Quick service Cons: , Parking, Parking more

Best burgers 6/10/2004

This place has the biggest, tastiest burgers I've ever experienced. They also offer a overloaded baked potato as a side ( which is also very tasy). I would recommend this place to anyone. Just make sure you go their at a time when it everyone doesn't go out to eat ( i.e. between 5-8 pm) otherwise you will experience a long wait. On the flip side the wait is worth it more

Delicious 3/25/2004

Port of Call has the best hamburgers I have ever tasted. As a native of New Orleans, I frequent the place all the time bringing my friends as well as any visitors who may drop into town. Recently I have moved and I miss those big and juicy burgers! I doubt I will ever find a hamburger joint to compare to Port of Call, therefore, it will be the first place I stop from the airport. more

The way I see it 3/25/2004

LA native living in Atlanta. Every girl I introduced to Port of Call, craves their burgers even years later. A visit home is not a visit without eating here and they have several signature tropical drinks that will have you stumbling down the street. Get there early to beat the lines and bring hungry friends. more

Huge Burger! 11/19/2003

Port of Call is a great place! Small and somewhat dingy with a nautical atmosphere, but just the type of place to unexpectedly find great food. The burger is huge and the baked potato is a great alternative to fries. We also had a muffaletta pizza which is also a must try. The Monsoon (loaded with rum) is good as long as you just want to take an afternoon nap later!. Get there by 11:30 for lunch and you probably won't have to wait. Pros: Hamburger, Monsoon more

Port of Call 9/9/2003

The burgers are great - and come with a huge baked potatoe. We enjoyed the music. Not alot of seating, be prepared to wait for a table. If you don't mind eating at the bar, you will be served faster. We went twice during a five day trip - prices are excellent. Pros: Food, Music (70's/80's), Casual Cons: long wait more

Best Burger, Bar None 8/22/2003

Port of Call has the best, biggest hamburger in New Orleans. Couple that burger with a loaded baked potatoe and a Monsoon, and you've had the best, cheapest meal in New Orleans. Large portions, cooked like you like it. The Monsoon is the best tasting, strongest drink in the Quarter. Port of Call is the only spot I don't miss on every trip to the Big Easy. Pros: inexpensive, great food, fast service Cons: crowded, small, dark more

yummy, yummy 2/8/2003

My wife and I LOVE this place. The service is kinda rude. They almost act like they don't want you there. Good luck on a smiling face greeting you at the door. After about 10 minutes we just sat down at a table and finally someone told us there was a waiting list. We endured it for that incredible, way-to-big for your mouth burger. It's one awesome place. If you don't get immediate attention, just run to the first table and sit. Then they'll pay attention to you. You have to be aggresive but nice. Pros: yummy, yummy, yummy Cons: BAD PEOPLE SKILLS more

Never Visit NOLA without eating here! 1/24/2003

I don't know if it's the monstrous baked potato or the 3-cups of grated cheese on the gigantic burger - no, I do know - it's the 3-cups of grated cheese that comes on your hamburger. We never leave a NOLA trip without eating at the Port. Expect to hang out a while if you're arriving during peak times. It's SO worth the wait. Pros: Food, Location more
