Perfect Anniversary Celebration 1/5/2010

My wife and I visited the Old Warsaw last evening to celebrate our fifth wedding anniversary. The service was outstanding - probably the best I have ever received and was the highlight of the evening. The staff addressed us by name from the moment we arrived to the time we left. At no time did we have an unmet want as the staff anticipated our needs before we did. The food had great flavor and I could see that tremendous effort was placed on presentation. I had the special 5 course menu (with wine) and my wife had the three course meal. My meal came with one glass of wine for every two courses and were wonderfully paired. The Old Warsaw is a restaurant for those who appreciate excellent food, fine wine and unsurpassed service. However, you'll need to bring very deep pockets and long arms as our bill came to $400.00 including tip. Pros: Outstanding Service more

We were recommended to Old Warsaw from someone who lives in the city. It was a great experience all around. We were there for my wife’s 50th birthday and it was wonderful. Never again 12/25/2009

We've been going to the Warsaw about twice a year for over 10 years. The service has been getting progressively worse. Tonight was the last straw. Last year, also at Christmas, they ran out of food. This year was not different, however, our waiter last year was apologetic. This year, our waiter not only didn't care, but was rude when we expressed our disappointment. His response was so unpleasant, we asked for the owner and then understood where the attitude came from. The owner said he didn't have time to listen to our complaint because he had several customers up front waiting to complain. I excused myself later and pulled him aside to explain that our waiter's service continued to be unacceptable. I also mentioned that we had been disappointed last year at Christmas. His response was to cut me off mid-sentence with, ""Well then why did you come back?"" Never, never again. Pros: Food was good Cons: Service was terrible more

Definition of Excellence 12/19/2009

I heard Old Warsaw was great so I decided to go and see for myself. I went to there for dinner during the week. Everything was perfect. The wine selection was great. The service is very polite and not pretentious. I enjoyed The Old Warsaw because I felt very comfortable and relaxed while there. My family and I went to the Old Warsaw when we were in Dallas last week. My wife is from France, so we are avid connoisseurs of French food. I will certainly not be the first to tell you that the quality of food you receive at the Old Warsaw is superb. I especially enjoyed the Escargot, and the Dover Sole.\r The service is also top notch. Everyone, from the valet to the bus boys, are very amenable, and will go to great lengths to ensure your requests are met. \r The violinist and pianist, combined with the candlelit tables, makes this restaurant one of the most romantic in the Dallas area. The Best Restaurant in Dallas 12/16/2009

My party of six dined at The Old Warsaw on Friday, December 11th. The restaurant is off Maple Avenue across from The Capitol Grille, and between Maple Manor Hotel and the Hotel St. Germaine. Must be a nice part of town. As it was downtown Dallas we used the valet. I did not notice any on street parking sites.\r \r The service staff was superb, especially Carmen, and Saied the captain who selected a wonderful Bordeaux in my price range. We all had at least four courses. All the food was excellent and beautifully presented. Kudos to the chef and to the pastry chef.\r \r We never felt rushed or delayed even though our dining event was over three hours long.\r \r The Old Warsaw is certainly now at the top of my list! Wow, what can I say? Nothing short of the perfect recreation of what heaven on earth would be....\r \r Everything was exceptional. I am a little surprised about the couple of negative reviews. Maybe it was an off night, or they were at a different restaurant.....but please don't judge by those 1 or 2 bad reviews when you compare to the dozens of excellent reviews. I was hesitant at first about driving 40 minutes out of the way, but I trusted my gut. Most of the reviews were good, so we thought we would take a shot. Boy, am I glad we did ! :-)\r \r The menu is full of many classic french dishes, escargot, foie gras, and souffle. The wine pairings were remarkably on point. The souffles were exquisite.\r \r A feel of a country home in the south of France, the staff make you feel like family and are so pleasant.The Old Warsaw has now earned a permanent place on my list of favorite restaurants. Awesome Dining Experience 9/13/2009

One of the top meals in Dallas. For an appetizer we had the Crab Cake and the Steak Tartar. Both were fantastic and are highly recommended. Next we had the Old Warsaw Salad and Greek salad. Very light salad that is a must for Feta cheese lovers and for anyone interested in venturing outside the realm of lettuce. On special that night was a Foie Gra. Again, fabulous. Finally, for the main course we had quail with Sautéed Mushrooms and Muscat Wine. We shared the Scottish Salmon which was served with crawfish, mushrooms and capers, sitting atop rice and green beans. As Steve would say, the quail was ""divine"" and it was definitely my favorite dish of the night. Overall, Old Warsaw serves up food beyond your expectations, which is exactly what you expect from a top-notch Uptown Dallas restaurant. Will definitely return to share this place with friends and family and try more of the items on the menu. more

This place is filthy and past it's prime! 9/12/2009

I put this in the 5 star category so everyone would read this - the other 5 stars have to be fake. Read some other sites if you have to, this place is horrible and we were laughing at how rude and surly the waiters were. They were like some old grumpy men, the place is like a dusty old restaurant for the geriatric set who might not be able to see the dirt and dust everywhere. Our waiter was such so rude, we were trying to figure out what we did to make him mad, but then saw everyone was getting treated that way. Food was awful, dishes chipped, if you asked a question about the menu the waiter rolled his eyesand looked like he smelled something bad. Dinner took forever (over 3 hours!!) and we just sat there between courses. Food was terrible!! I doubt this place will be around too much longer, i really can't believe it's still open. GO SOMEPLACE ELSE. Pros: NONE, it was awful Cons: Everything more

My husband and I had the pleasure of Dining At The old Warsaw for the first time the other night.We couldnt have asked for a better evening! Our steaks were cooked perfect! the waitstaff were very through and to our suprise they a jazz band that night!
