Old Warsaw the Best there is 6/3/2009

This is more than a ""special occasion"" restaurant. I live in North Dallas and it's one of my favorites, especially during holiday's. The servings are wonderful and not at all overwhelming, allowing for a guilt-free dessert course. The menu items are beautifully-presented and have a delicious balance of flavors. The waitstaff is attentive without being intrusive, and is happy to accommodate requests. The wine list is extensive and they have a full bar, this is the important part of a fine dining experience. It's a gem in Up Town. more

Went to Old Warsaw to celebrate our engagement. They were notified beforehand of the special day and were really accomodating. The hostess welcomed us and congratulated us. They had our table waiting with a bottle of champagne already chilled. We did the pre-fix menu and really enjoyed all the food. The service was impecable. They really helped put a special touch on an exciting night. A really fine restaurant. more

Wonderful 4/2/2009

Tried Old Warsaw for the first time with my family. Older kids with picky appetites. Everyone loved what they ordered and raved about it afterward. From the professional, friendly staff (including the owner) to the Romantc, sophisticated ambiance, everything about this place was perfect. Next time you're in Dallas, I recommend you avoid the touristy, crowded restaurants in the are and head uptown to The Old Warsaw where you'll be guaranteed a good meal and great service Pros: everything is great more

Amazing 3/31/2009

I came here in March with 8 other people for brunch and couldn't have asked for a better experience. The food was amazing and the service was even better. Our food came out extremely fast and everyone was served at once. We always had water on the table and never felt rushed. We stayed in the restaurant for over 2 hours visiting and the staff never bothered us to leave. Everyone loved what they ordered. We enjoyed our brunch and would highly recommend Bistro 61 Pros: Great Food Excellent Service more

I will start by saying I was not expecting a night like the one I had at The Old Warsaw. The Hostess was so sweet and accommodating, the wait staff was diligent and refreshingly nice, and the food was impeccable! I could just die over the entrees! I was impressed to say the least. I asked to speak to the manger and to my surprise the owner was there to speak with me. It says a lot when you have an owner present to talk and chat with. He was so passionate about his food that it will make me a guest for life! more

Awful service and no response from mgmt 1/19/2009

Our Christmas eve dinner was more than a disappointment! Food not as ordered and waiter not in dining room for whole entree period to send it back. The waiter argued the steak was as ordered although he had never seen it at the table and I ate only 2 bites. NO apologies, just grunts. Letter to general manager went unanswered for 3 days and then when we returned his call he was too busy and hasn't returned call in 18 days!\r He doesn't understand we have told all our friends how overpriced and underwhelming the entire experience was. When mgmt doesn't care the establishment doesn't stand a chance!! more

Underwhelming! 12/25/2008

This is NOT a 5 star restaurant and all those who reviewed it as such had way too many expensive drinks. The owner is surley and arrogant. The waiters were confused, picked up food you weren't finished with and left empty plates to long. The food was terrible, tasteless and the waiters couldn't put the right dinner in front of the person who ordered it. The owner was rude and indignant when we questioned the confusing incorrect bill. There are so many good places with good food in Dallas - leave this one to the geriatric population that thinks Luby's is good. (and actually it is probably better). Never again!
