I am currently an RN student at medtech college and I absolutely love it there... The instructors are amazing and they all want to see you succeed... I would most def recommend me...

I went there because I was not accepted into Ivytech's nursing program, even as an honor roll student. I heard Medtech was a new, for-profit(so very expensive) school, but if I co...

Medtech does have an accredited PN program. The RN program IS NOT currently accredited but does have candidacy status. I am a 7th quarter student there and it is easy to look up the accreditation on the NLN website. Yes, many hospitals still hire Medtech students including major hospitals, many graduates are employed by major Indianapolis hospitals. It is an accelerated program and you come out of there with the knowledge you commit to learning. It is very expensive and everyone that chooses to attend is very aware of that. Everyone is entitled to an opinion but if you are not a student or have been a student then you have no idea what actually goes on there. There is a bad reputation associated with Medtech mainly because of the few students that attend that have a very bad attitude and are disrespectful to everyone staff, fellow students, and clinical sight staff. Take the time to get to know the teachers and you will find they do actually care and are very intelligent but tr more

Amazing school 2/22/2013

I am currently an RN student at medtech college and I absolutely love it there... The instructors are amazing and they all want to see you succeed... I would most def recommend medtech to anyone interested in a nursing program... I spent 3 years at ivy tech trying to get into the nursing program (I had a 4.0 GPA and scored an 81% on the teas test and still wasn't accepted). Medtech is the type of school (as with any) that you get out of if what you put into it... As far as being accredited it is most def accredited if it wasn't you wouldn't be able to use financial aid there and my gi bill wouldn't pay for it.. People get your facts straight before you start bad mouthing a college more

What I heard directly from nurses... 10/12/2012

I don't go to Medtech and I can't say whether it is good or bad, but I did want to let you all know what I heard from several nurses in different clinical settings. Most said their hospitals won't allow Medtech students to do their clinicals with them because they don't get the right training. They also said their hospital won't hire Medtech graduates. These comments, and Medtech's ridiculously high tuition rates scared me off. I am in the Ivy Tech nursing program, which has their drawbacks, but at least I have been able to complete clinicals with them. more

Considering Phlebotomy 9/15/2012

Hey Guys,\r So im having some mixed reviews here about med tech. Im considering the phlebotomy course in Ft.wayne and i would really like some feedback from anyone who has taken a phlebotomy course at any med tech course preferably Ft.wayne. I understand its an accelerated course and the level of learning is going to be intense and very hands on, this sounds like a good thing to me. I took a Wilderness EMT course through NOLS 2 months back and its was extremely Intense so the phlebotomy course cant be too hard. Just looking for some feed back on if the course prepairs you for the national certification test, and is actually a worth while course where a really good amount of learning is provided during the course and is directly applicable to work in a hospitable or anywhere phlebotomy skills are used.\r Thanks for your time,\r -Joe more

You get what you pay for! 6/17/2012

I am a graduate of the Billing/Coding program from the Greenwood Campus. I was offered and accepted a position from my extern site. What I found was MedTech completely prepared me for the real world. I knew exactly what my very experienced co-workers were talking about and how to complete the task assigned - most of this without being formerly trained by my jobsite. I loved attending MedTech and since I am finding myself unemployed I am looking to re-enter MedTech for the RN program. Its something I have been thinking about even before I graduated. \r Some of the things I didn't like were the staff members that were unorganized and unable to maintain their classroom, students who has crappy attitudes and who were rude enough to accept phone calls during final exams!!!! The computer lab was usually not functioning properly enough to keep up with the classroom, and once I graduated, Financial Aid refused to help me with finalizing forms needed for my VA grants. Another was that ev more

Medtech is for mature adult 6/15/2012

I am a nursing student. Things are and have gotten better. The Lpn program is fully accredited by NCLAC. I have observed many students acting out of control. These are students that are rude, crude, and cannot communicate! The teachers are Registered nurses with Bsn and Masters! Some are even the teachers of NCLEX exams. This school also provides ATI which other schools do not. The Lpn program also comes with an Associates degree unlike other Lpn programs. As for the credit transfers. My credits transferred from a nationally accredited program from California. I did not have to take A&P. Only if your credits are not transferable or been too many years you will have to take them. I am doing well and so is our class. Going into it I knew it was accelerated and expensive. That is by choice. Also students want to be given answers and not listen in class or study. It is not an easy program and I feel that the negative statements are from lazy and immature students that I would not want to b more

Grow up 6/10/2012

5 flights-yeah. Happens every day. Prerequisites a problem? Where did you get those stats? Grow up and do the research. You are wrong. MedTech is accredited from every governing body required to be a legal technical school. Including the NLNAC. \r Tuition is $50,00.00? It is private proprietary school. The tuition is not a secret. If that is a problem for you -DON'T GO THERE.\r The program is 21 months-that is called an accelerated program. Again, no secret. Doesn't seem to bother the many healthcare facilities that train and hire MedTech students.\r The CEO visits the campus often in order to project his star quality and to hypnotize the unsuspecting, gullible, and stupid people into being duped. Or he has an open door policy that includes being available to the students not only per email (which he answers) but also meeting them in person.\r Thank God that you as a CMA (just one step above a janitor) has set us all straight and support your allegations as actual facts. \r Nothing that you more

Not a good "school," proceed with caution! 6/8/2012

First off I would like to say that I went into the idea of attending Medtech College with an open mind. Yesterday (6/7/12) I attended an 'information session." To start the tour off half of the power was out so after we hiked up five flights of stairs I was informed of the so-called "high-light's" of this institute. \r High-light #1- everything here is integrated, which means you do not have to do pre-recquisites to be accepted into this program. All that adds up to mean is that in the end anyone can be accepted into this nursing program. Potential employers will not look to kindly upon this because there is nothing to set you apart from the rest, sorry.\r High-light #2- they are NOW ACCREDITED!!!!! Supposedly they have been in the process for a few years now, that does not matter! Never attend a school that is not accredited, I am CMA and each job I have ever applied for requires an accredited program.\r High-light #3- tuition is only $50,000 and rising.... are you kidding me???\r High-li more

what a joke 6/8/2012

i recently withdrew myself for medtech's indianapolis campus, that school is such a joke and a complete waste of money and time. When I signed up they made it seem like it was the best thing in the world, you hardly get any type of student loans and end up paying way more than what they tell you. I only had one teacher that actually knew how to teach a class, the rest of them pull up powerpoints that you can get online and just read word for word.. i am sorry but i am paying for an education not here to teach myself. then when i get sick and missed a few days i was removed from classes without ever being told when i brought in a dr note like the attendance policy states i was told i waited to long to bring anything in and would have to retake the classes and pay the fee and just the other day when i went to pick up my transcripts i was unable to get my offical ones bc of a balanced owed on my account but was never told that instead i was told show up pay the $8 get your transcript.. Med Tech - Teas test 4/2/2012

Can anyone tell me what you have to have on the TEAS test to get into Med Tech College? Anyone know of a place to get the study guide for a discounted price?\r \r Thanks! :-) more

Accreditation 3/27/2012

Some of the reviews here bring up Medtech's accreditation. As one reviewer mentioned, accreditation is an ongoing application with both the state and the nation. Just because a school doesn't have accreditation with one body doesn't mean you should write it off. Especially with newer schools, they might be in the middle of the accreditation review process or accredited by a different body. The best thing to do is ask or visit a school's website to find out. Medtech Indianapolis' LPN program is accredited by NLNAC. There are two other Medtech locations within the Indiana area that also have additional accreditation. more

DONT DO IT!!!! GO TO A REAL SCHOOL... 3/14/2012

run!!!! do not i repeat do not go to medtech its crap. they only want your money and nobody hires medtech students the girls i went to school with back in 2007 still are not working in the field they went to school for because hospitals don't hire medtech students its not even accredited so your really wasting your time. and its not a real college so you cant transfer none of the credits.\r so dont even waste your time no matter what they tell you its all a lie to get you in to sign and they can take all your money thats all its about$$$$$$$$ """"just say no"""" more

Nurse from Medtech Indy 3/8/2012

I graduated Medtech as LPN in 2010 and was recently accepted into their RN program in Oct of 2011. Med Tech is a good school...Who cares if theyre not accreditated at the present time...They will get it!!! Its a process, as with all schools... Every single school started off without accreditation, of course theyve earned it since but look how long most of these other schools have been around... I was also accepted into the ITT Tech RN program but decided to go with the school that is ATLEAST on candidacy status and has 1 nursing program NLN accreditated... People are so quick to judge or speak on what they dont know!!! As with any school there will be flaws...but at the end of the day you have great material with actual experienced nurses and doctors teaching you, and the ATI to help guide you towards passing the NCLEX. As far as the tuition... yes it might be pricey compared to a community college like Ivy Tech but thats just that, its a community college. Of course its going to be more

Medtech is a JOKE. 2/6/2012

I went there because I was not accepted into Ivytech's nursing program, even as an honor roll student. I heard Medtech was a new, for-profit(so very expensive) school, but if I could get in, I thought it was worth a shot. Most of the instructors are good, and really do hope you succeed, however, a few are just cruel and hope to see you fail. I just graduated in Dec. of 2011 as an LPN and so much has gone wrong. One of our teachers up and quit, leaving the school with only part of our grades and we all had to accept a lower grade than we should have had in the class! Unfortunately for that, some girls failed the class and couldnt graduate. On top of that, they FAILED to tell us important information when submitting our application to the board to take our NCLEX and now it is going to take several more weeks(already been waiting for 3 weeks) before we can even get a date to sit for our boards. Now, I'm dealing with their financial aid department and the incorrect 1098 tax form they submi more

Do not spend a years salary to go here! RN program is 45,000$ and rising 12/22/2011

They are very unorganized. They lie to you in orientation, they hire unqualified educators (ones that have drug problems lose their license etc), they overcharge your account, you cannot get a returned call or email, the labs stink because they do not have proper supplies, they do not follow the rules but expect you to. They give you your schedule just days before the next qtr begins. You cannot transfer or test out of courses if you are taking nursing. Many times you will not know where to go when you need an answer and noone will help you. \r \r Good- short program, stay with your group that you start with, clinical sites are mostly good places, there are some really great instructors more

Before you make your mind up READ THIS 11/9/2011

Hello. I am a current student at Medtech. this is my fourth quarter. I am going to be an RN. I really wanted to take the time and speak out regarding accrediation rumors. There are obviously some people writing these reviews that truly don't know what nursing accrediation means. Here are a few points I should make \r 1) Medtech is FULLY accrediated by the Indiana State Board of Nursing. If they weren't, their nursing grads couldn't sit for the state boards (NCLEX). Initial accrediation means that a program is new and just recieved accredidation. It doesn't mean that the program isn't fully accredidated. \r \r 2) NLNAC is not required for you to work as a nurse. A LICENSE is required. NLNAC is something that schools don't have to get. It also depends on what city/state you work in whether NLNAC is important. Most states won't even ask you where you went to school when you apply for a job. They know, as long as you have a license, you are qualified to be a nurse and work.\r \r M more

Like all things in life, MedTech is what YOU make of it 8/8/2011

As a recent straight 'A', RN graduate of MedTech Indy, I can say that you get what you give. MedTech's program is designed for the student that is self-motivated and "mature". Do mot expect the experience to be easy, "fluff", or any less demanding than any other college/university nursing program. They are a "for profit" school, but that does not make them any less dedicated to their students. I have attended other "big, important" universities and let me just say that after 2 years at one of them, not one past instructor or department head would call me by name in passing. BUT after 2 years at MedTech, they could and did on a regular basis. No they do not have NLN accreditation YET, but they are working very hard towards it! ALL schools have endured "growing pains", NLN only moves so fast and they can't be pushed. As far as the comments suggesting MedTech will let anyone one in, each prospective student is required to take and pass a TEAS test just like other schools. After getting an more

Medtech ony wants your MONEY!!! 5/13/2011

To put it very lightly "MEDTECH SUCKS!!!" Both my daughter and I attended Medtech for two semesters. During the 1st semester, I had an instructor that did not know how to teach or how to manage a class. I took my husband's advice and transferred both of us out or her class. At the end of that semester, the people who stayed in her class had a hard time passing the final exam. We, however, not only passed but earned A's because we had an instructor that could teach.\r The second semester, we had the same issue with a different instructor. Instead of transferring to another class again, we decided to take it up with the head of the department. Others had spoken to her about the lack of teaching ability of our current instructor, but nothing was done or changed. (It ends up that the head of the department and this instructor are good friends.)\r So, I fired of an e-mail to the dean, the head of the department, and the whole board of directors.\r Next thing I know is I am getting a le more

DNT,DNT DO IT!!!!! 5/12/2011

At Quida: I was in the class with you. But i can put the face with the name though. But man you are soo true.. That class was a waste of time and money. My mother and i cant find a job at all..I applied for a job and i got turned down everytime. I thought with my being a cna would help some. But i thought wrong. So to whom every tries to take up a PHLEBOTOMY class, think twice before you do. I feel so bad for my mother. The day i went to sign up for this class she was waiting for her cna class to start. So when i came out of medtech i called her and was telling her about the classes and how much it cost. So i told her to she should she join me and get her money back from the cna classes. Well she did and now i feel by, cause now she will be stuck doing housekeeping cause she dnt have the job she went to school for. MedTech sucks!!!! more
